Thanks, it's a routine CT scan that they do every few months. Last time they found a blood clot in her lung, which requires a special blood thinner. Hopefully that's gone now.

Just an fyi, since I know you had mentioned it a few times, but gummies might interact with blood thinners. Best to double check with the docs on dosage if she plans on taking both.

She hasn't taken any gummies or such for... maybe 6 months (or maybe 3). Her appetite picked up and she didn't want to take anything that wasn't really needed. Her weight has picked up from its low point of about 98 in February to now, closing in on 120.

The sentiment that Gibbs is a bust is a wee bit premature. But yeah, refusing to pay Swift and burning that high of a pick on a RB instead sure isn't looking like the best move so far.

Of course, it’s unfair to call a rookie a bust so early.  BUT…RBs are on a different timeline.  They have minimal value after their rookie contract.  So every game, every year that they are in their "adjustment, be patient” period is a meaningful knock off the value of their draft investment.  And, sooner or later, there is the risk the 2025 4th round pick (or whatever the hell it was) the Eagles used on Swift might throw off more value than the first on Gibbs.

Random Eagles thoughts heading into the weekend...

- Don't know if there's a more athletic defensive front in the league. In the 5 man front, you've got Reddick (4.52), Cox/Williams (4.79/4.63), Davis (4.78), Carter (fast), and Sweat (4.53). And these guys are actually good. Nolan Smith (4.39) off the bench. A freakish group that we're fortunate to watch every week.

- What a different feeling now compared to 2020. Young talent galore on this team. In the last 3 drafts, the Eagles have drafted (or signed as a UDFA) a whopping 7 legit starters (Devonta, Dickerson, Williams, Davis, Jurgens, Blankenship, Carter) with talents like Dean, Nolan Smith, Steen, Brown, Ringo TBD. Also consider the AJ Brown trade, acquiring a 25-year-old star WR. Mailata and Sweat are still only 26. What a turnaround.

- Perhaps I'm overreacting to one game, but are we sure Quez is a better WR3 for this team than OZ? Quez is super fast but dumb. OZ is pretty fast and not dumb.

- Am I crazy or does Nicholas Morrow look pretty good?

- I don't know how Justin Evans hasn't become more of a form tackler since all those injuries he had in TB. Seems like either his legs or neck are in danger every tackle.

Late season crumbles...  sounds familiar.  

August 1st, they were at the top of the WC standings, 10 games over 0.500.  
September 1st, they were tied for 3rd in the WC standings, 5 games over 0.500.

They are now 3 games under 0.500 and in the 4th spot outside the WC standings.

 

So, they've gone 13 games under 0.500 in 2 months, and lost 7 spots in the standings.  The schedule got a little harder, but good teams should be able to play at least close to 0.500 even with some tough teams in the mix.   If they had just played 0.500 baseball... or only 3 games under 0.500 during that span, they'd still be in position to be playing for a WC spot.  (The Marlins are 7 games over 0.500 in the last WC spot right now.)

Don’t think he’s a bust. I think they know it’s a long season and slowly bringing him along so he doesn’t wear down by the end of the year. That said when the draft came closer, I said the lions with those two picks they might want to consider moving up in the draft to get somebody like CJ Stroud. They might never be high enough or multiple picks to package again to get a quarterback that I think is capable of winning a SB. I think Goff is good enough to win you regular season games, a bad division and maybe a playoff game. I don’t believe when he runs into a defense like the niners that he’s going to be good enough. He wasn’t with the rams and it eventually got them. Heck he was fortunate they beat the saints to get to that Super Bowl due to a horrific missed call.

We're 4 games in on a guy who's averaging 4.6 ypc.
