If you think the NFL has alot of commercials, college football says "hold my beer...."

Thank the new clock rules for that. They claim it was to shorten the game. Not sure anyone ever said college football games are too long. The reality is, it cut 3 minutes of game time but added over 13 minutes of commercials.

Got Stanford and asu next two weeks. So they should win those games. They finish with at ucla, vs. Oregon state, vs. Arizona, at Wazzu and at utah. The only game they are likely favored in down the stretch is Arizona.

College football games are too long.

Watching Penn State and Northwestern struggle mightily to make the rugby scrum work for them.  It isn't as easy as many pundits want to make it out to be.

Eagles 24, Commanders 18

OZ scores a TD again

Penn State sleeping today. Luckily some stupid decisions by NW is helping.

What a waste Castro is.  I know they didn't give up much... but they did give up something.  Castro is brutal.  Something tells me Wilson has a legit shot at the post season roster... otherwise what's the point in adding him now.   It is also a shame that Covey got that hang nail so late in the season.

Its just the Pac-12 schedule... its not like they added these teams out of conference.  Of course, Oregon and USC will be in the Big "10" soon, but this 'tough' schedule is playing in a conference that's about to go defunct.

Really?  They go for about 3.5 hours.   They stop the clock too much.  After an incomplete pass, the clock should restart once the ball is reset for play, until the last 5 minutes of the game or so.  And if a player runs out of bounds... same thing.  No need for the clock to stop for the full time until the next snap.

Of course not.  If it were, teams would have been doing it forever.   But the idea that the QB sneak is somehow a new idea is laughable.  And teams have been pushing ball carriers from behind forever as well.   I don't like the play (mostly because they are too predictable with it and I see an injury in the future for Hurts), but. there is nothing truly 'novel' about it, nor anything that requires a rewrite of the rules either.

I took them +21.5. Losing by 20 would be great

Castro is a minor league player that has every year 2-3 weeks where he looks good and then is just bad the rest of the year. The issue isn’t that falter is anything good. But they got no value whatsoever out of Castro and wasted a roster spot. Before his last start, falter had a 3.99 Era with the pirates. Walker’s velocity is down and he has not been as effective.  Lorenzen is way over his career high innings pitched and has looked miserable since his no hitter. However they had to keep throwing them out there cause Suarez got hurt and the Phillies lack starting pitching depth in the minors that can step on for a month to deactivate walker for 2 weeks and then lorenzen (when Suarez got hurt) to give them time off to try helping with their issues.

falter is what he is. he is a fringed MLB 5th starter. Frankly he’s not all that good. but the Phillies don’t have that guy in the minors right now that could be used in a pinch with mlb experience and it put more innings on lorenzen and walker cause they couldn’t give them time off til Suarez got healthy when they badly needed it and now overextended. they had guys just as awful as Castro in the minors to be their second backup utility fielder.

I wonder how those numbers compares per capita to the Capone/prohibition era 1920s.

Exactly.  He's an innings eater.  Those guys have value.   Castro has none.

Exactly and it couldn't be more "football".  Right to the heart and soul of the game.  It is nearly unstoppable when you have Hurts, Kelce, Dickerson, and Goedert pushing but even that group has been stopped a few times.

It looks worse cause Suarez got hurt so they were basically forced to overextend walker and lorenzen due to lack of starting pitching depth in the minors. Both of those guys needed time off (more than a start or 2) due to their IP being high and they haven’t been as effective (walker’s velocity is way down). Sanchez could’ve been that guy but he was already injected into the rotation and he’s way over his career high IP. The Phillies not having painter and Abel not being ready yet really hurt their starting pitching depth along with just lack of development in years prior with klentak regime.

Until Lincoln Riley gets serious about defense his teams won't win any championships.

Eh they are gonna go to the big 10 and get their ass handed to them by OSU and Michigan. Then still have to face Oregon and penn state.  money wise makes a ton of sense for usc to go to the big 10. Success wise it would’ve been better if everyone in the pac 12 stayed cause once Riley got really rolling then Usc could’ve likely dominated the pac 12. Don’t see them doing that in the big 10.

Up by 21 with two minutes left, Penn State fake kneels and bombs a TD. God I love college football. 🤣

This #14 kid for Colorado is pretty good.

I think the Painter injury was the primary culprit, they had him penciled in as the #5 in my mind... but none of that explains moving falter for a guy that was clearly not going to help the team.  I'd have rather just to keep rolling with Harrison.  He wasn't good, but he was already paid for.  And they knew they wouldn't have Painter by the time they made the move to trade Falter.  So, that move continues to make no sense.

I completely disagree with the interpretation that it was a fake kneel down.   The color commentator saying it looked more like a fake QB draw makes much more sense to me.   He took a huge step forward... not exactly a 'kneel' motion.  I think it was a case of the 'rules analyst' not having said anything the entire time and needed to justify his pay check... so he interjected nonsense.

Meanwhile, it was the backup QB... a redshirt freshman.  He needs reps, so nothing should be said negative about throwing the ball there.  Its football, and they weren't 'piling on' with the starter.  They were giving their backup QB needed reps in a real game.
