I don’t really get the backlash on Nick for the last TD to AJ instead of trying to run the clock out. If they don’t get the first, Washington gets the ball back down 3 with a minute to go (assuming Jake makes the kick) and we all know the defense is allowing them to get into FG range for a chance to tie it. I don’t mind going for the dagger and forcing them to get 7.

Nah.  In the NFCCG, Hurts was getting brought down by a couple of DBs.  Nothing too dangerous there, until Greenlaw came in and nailed Hurts in the back as he was going down.

We need him to be available all season.

I think if he's not willing to run then don't run plays where he's running the ball.  If they are telling him to avoid hits running, then don't run draws or Run Options where he pulls the ball.

I’d be shocked if the Chiefs don’t go after him, tbh.

They don't need more well maybe he might be good. Go pay for Adam Thielen an actual reliable WR

That particular play was more of a mistake by the defender, but Mahomes is one of the most elusive QBs in NFL history.  Guys like Vick, Randal, Lamar Jackson...and many others...were far more dangerous at chewing up yardage and being weapons downfield.  Mahomes isn't as fast as any of them in a straight line.  But his combination of near-field vision while going through progressions, foot work, and phone booth athleticism are just brutal for rushers trying to get sacks.  He's Vick-like in eluding rushers.

Don’t disagree with anything you said. I think that particular play is a mistake by the defender. but I’m actually curious if Reed thought if he lit mahomes up that they were going to throw a flag on him.

I still think once the cardinals get to the deadline and they haven’t got an extension in place (FA at the end of the year) for Hollywood brown that he’s the guy the chiefs would target.

I’d be interested in thielen as our slot guy especially if Carolina at the deadline is willing to move him. However think his contract makes it very unlikely

That's why you slow down, square up and wrap him up.

The at bat by Brett Myers really made this possible. That was an awesome run by the Phillies. So many incredible moments

It hasn’t come back to bite them yet. But against better teams in really tight games where you need to scratch and claw for every first down and Hurts drops back to throw on a play on a 3rd and 8, no one’s open and he takes off at half speed and slides down after only gaining a couple yards… if that costs the Eagles people are going to change their tune on it then.

Can’t worry about injuries. They need to allow Hurts to be Hurts. They’re coaching him to fight his instincts. Some of his best skills are improvisational. There was a drive against the Niners last year where the entire drive pretty much were Hurts runs and that drive secured the win for the Eagles. His legs are what separates him from other QBs. I think this more than anything is what has held the offense back from looking like last season.

Lets not be hyping Mann to much.  He was pretty awful the first two punts.

First punt yes. Poor distance.  We will have to wait for @FranklinFldEBUpper's hang time analysius to determine if it was bad that way as well.  The second punt was 48 yards, which on the surface was a decent length, but again hang time needs to be assessed.

If Reed breathes on his neck there, those refs would have called a personal foul for violating Mahomes safe space.

It looked like he was going for the ball.  It also may be that Mahomes is just a big dude and he didn't want to bounce off of him.

Honestly been really impressive considering he got there a week before the season started.

I thought the second one was pretty much a line drive to the returner.

This video of DJ Reed just makes me laugh. Going like full speed and just like whoops

Didn't look like he was going for the sack but was going for the ball. He could have destroyed Mahomes but chose to attack the ball and fail with that too

In my opinion he is only worth considering if he is cut.  And then I'm not even sure.

I like dobbs. That clip of him when his jersey wasn’t available as a custom is great

Frankly wouldn’t touch him. I think he runs his mouth too much and is more of a headache than you need. I could see a team like the patriots or ravens (bunch of injuries at Wr to Obj and Bateman) taking a chance. I’d say KC but they have a problem child overrated Wr in toney already. I think the chiefs only make a move if they can get a proven impact wr

Sheil said during the offseason they should’ve targeted him as a backup especially for what he was being paid as compared to mariota. He likely is going to be proven right it was smarter to go after dobbs.

Yeah its too much back seat coaching from media and fans.  If you can get the TD then get it.  You have to have faith in your defense to not let up a TD drive to the other team.

I hope he plays for 10 more years.

Amazing that Alvin kamara has 13catches for 33 yards after one game.

He's trying to avoid hits.  Not yardage.

I'd be happy with a well-blocked run that him 5 yards down field before he slides.
