Performative for the cameras, huge mess for someone else to clean up, waste of beer.... verdict: lame.

Well, its the lame beer being wasted, not actual good stuff, so what's the big deal?

Bad example for the children - might lead to good beer being wasted, slippery slope.

I love it!

Sounds like you are part of the problem.  Did you give your kid a 7th place participation trophy?

I blame the boomer/gen-x'ers for the participation trophies. Bunch of softies caving to their children.

Your logic is sound.

2020 the entire world went soft.  Many people under 35 these days feel super entitled.

Guessing you’re over 35.

Terrible matchup for the Eagles defense vs. Rams offense.

Conversely, it's a great matchup for us the other way. Their best player tends to struggle (relative to his own HOF level) against us because we have our own HOFamer inside. Their 2nd best defender is probably Ernest Jones?

Rams are 24th in defensive DVOA. That is the lowest of any team we've faced this year (Minnesota is 20, NE is 8, Tampa is 6, Washington is 18). It's a big step down. It's not like the Rams have HFA so crowd noise doesn't matter.

It's a game where we will need to score 30 to win, and that's fine.

Have we seen any indication exactly how bad Staffords hip is?  If he really is limited that may kill their vertical game, which is where they (and if Kupp plays) feast.

Your jokes are dumb.  You get 5th place.  Go celebrate!

In our WU (now for charity!) FF league, I got my first win of the year and Monday night I put the entire Phillies squad to shame.  Keg stand.... pfftttt.... I was shotgunning one of those mofo's.  1-3!  1-3!

are these guys a little too hyped for a best of 2 early round playoff win?

Probably but they seem focused at the task at hand. Usually the marlins give the Phillies fits and they handled them so as long as Saturday comes and they are locked in then they can’t do whatever they want

Looks like uncle Charlie is getting better each day. Would be awesome if at some point in this run he could be there in person. CBP would explode if he did

The Rams have a lot of offensive weapons, the QB is just one element of it.  Our DL has not been exactly dominating and putting a lot of pressure on QB.  This would be a good game for the DEs to show up and bring home the sacks.

I don't know much about the Rams OL but you just get the feeling this Eagles DL is about to go off. They are getting constant pressure but failing to finish. Carter and Sweat are causing all kinds of havoc but they need to get the QB down. They NEED to get to Stafford and they have to get him on the ground. They can't just get pressures. You can have a pressure on every pass play but as long as the ball gets out against the Eagles coverage that's a win for the Rams every time.

@mattwill

Eagles 27-Rams 18

Eagles defense. 10 sacks

Boston Scott- rushing TD

Can you imagine a 1st pitch from him? Clearly it wouldn't be from the mound but even just a soft toss would be fantastic.

Picture it now. Charlie with the 1st pitch and Rhys pinch hitting in the WS.

The Pats game was the first of the year, we jumped out to a 16 point lead and he threw 54 passes.  They scored 20 points. No problem at all if Stafford repeats that performance.

Howell is infinitely more mobile than Stafford will be, and no one on the Rams currently (assuming Kupp isnt 100%) is as good as Terry Mclaurin.  Washington is divisional and always play us tough.  They also had some success running the ball with Robinson, and are a much better running team in general.

Stafford has 3 TDs and 5 picks this year.  And hes got a bad hip.

Okay.  So what do you think the score will be?

Agreed.  Do you have a score prediction you want to add?

The debate about greatest ever is a very difficult one, even for basketball.  How do you compare Wilt Chamberlain to John Stockton?  Just dramatically different in terms of what each brought to their team.  But, for me, one of the things that helps to determine 'greatness' is the impact on the game.  So, for the sake of argument, who do you put on the Mount Rushmore for basketball?   Not the 'highest scoring' or whatever, but impact on the game.

So, for me:
Spot #1 - Wilt Chamberlain is the most obvious choice.  They literally changed the rules to try to stop him.  Change to foul shots, change to lane width, etc.
Spot #2 - Michael Jordan is on there, because he came along at just the time that the NBA was looking to expand internationally and he became the face of basketball worldwide.  And helped to spread the game across the globe.

Then it gets controversial.

Spot #3 - Magic and Bird, to me, go on together in a single slot.  It was those two coming into the league at the same time, and their rivalry (coming from the rivalry even in college) that led to the explosion in popularity of the NBA.  But, it was the combination, not either one individually, so they go in together.  Is that a cop out?  Absolutely, but I don't care.

The last spot is where my argument is the weakest for some, I'm sure... but I give it to:
Spot #4 - Julius Erving.  He changed the game from a game played, pretty much exclusively below the rim, to a game played above the rim as well.  He changed the way that athletes approached the game and it became an aerial sport where athletes could exploit their athleticism.  Further, he was one of the first to popularize the 'trick' shot (shooting from crazy angles, for example, his under the backboard reverse layup) in the middle of the game.

Others could be argued, but that's my 'Four'.   And as such... they are my 'top 5 players' in NBA history.   And to me, this is no slight to Kareem, Kobe, Lebron, or anyone else.  These 4, IMO, paved the way for these other guys to be able to excel and so they go on Mount Rushmore.  The others can be the 'greatest scorer', 'greatest defender', 'greatest whatever'... but none of them changed the game the way these 4 did.

Those are probably the five most influential players, but that is a different category than the 5 top players.  However, I can't make a top 5 list without Wilt.

Yeah, and has anybody actually flown into Atlanta?  I think that airport is probably one of the circles of hell.

I havent done score predictions dating back to last year and its turned into a bit of a superstition for me.

But Im relatively confident so Ill say

Eagles: 30

Rams:  20

It is, but how do you compare a point guard to a center?   A power forward to a shooting guard?  Such different roles.

Who was better Cy Young or Mickey Mantle?
