This defense let Sam Howell throw all over them. Stafford throws for 500 and 5 TDs

So while I am pretty fluent in the NFL cap, I really struggle with NBA cap, so apologies if this take is foolish:

I feel like because of what you just stated, a side effect is superstars like Lebron getting either small contracts time wise (2-3 years) or player opt out clauses very early making that 5 year contract really a 1-3 year one so they can bump up their $$$.

That is definitely a consequence -- massive superstars have all the power and will take shorter deals, or deals with opt outs, to be able to get to the market if their team doesn't keep adding talent. Giannis started making noise about no signing an extension, and boom -- they get Dame. They all now realize (the true superstars) that they have all the power.

Don't disagree, but he was an underdog in most of those finals for a reason. He was playing teams with 3+ hall of famers pretty much every time.

And Michael won his last three with 2 other hall of famers (first three with Scotty, who is a top 75 all-time), and never won a finals where he didn't have the better team and betting favorite.

Honestly, I'm always shocked Wilt doesn't get more consideration. I never saw him play, but off the numbers...wow.

I know this isn't popular among Lebron fans but the reason he got to so many finals in the first place is because the East was weak for alot of those years.  Not Lebrons fault.  He can only beat who's in his conference.

Milton Williams is in year 3. He's got a grade A opportunity to show out and earn an extension after this year as he'll likely see a 50% snap share.

Personally I think the song is lame and a bunch of dudes dancing around to it while wearing goggles and spraying themselves with beer is super lame.  BUT they are having fun and people enjoy watching it too so good for them. It's not for a bunch of curmudgeons to tell people when to have fun.

Only marginally related, but I'm reminded of a story a guy I know told me recently. He's a lifelong Phillies fan who's in his seventies. He said when the Phillies won the World Series in 1980, he went nuts outside in the immediate celebration and noticed some old folks at the time who weren't really participating. Curmudgeons if you will. So when they won it all again in 2008, he realized that he was now of the same age as those old folks had been the first time they won. So he made a special point to NOT be a curmudgeon and he celebrated along with the rest of the crowd.

I actually don't hate Delta nor am an Airline snob.

But I will avoid Southwest and Spirit at all costs.  I've literally seen trash bags used by multiple people on a single Southwest flight as carry on luggage (plus those f'ers stranded me in Omaha once when they switched me to an earlier flight and forgot to mention they didn't have a seat for me on the second leg).  And Spirit, well, I don't feel like being involved in a mid flight brawl.

Flew spirit out of vegas once

never again

Didn't realize Marlon was hurt too.

Most shocking one for me was Detroit -- actually a nice airport. And the Delta lounge was new and awesome. Got stuck there with a delay, and it was workable.

Detroit is very good, I agree.

That's a function of the CBA and the max salary. When peak LeBron can only be paid the same as Mike Conley Jr., then the best players in the league are the most valuable assets by far because they are comically underpaid on a relative basis. LeBron was smart enough to realize that he was the most valuable asset in the game, but it didn't start with him. The Celtics and Lakers both took advantage in the 2008-2010 timeframe.

The max contract is a debacle.

How can you say that? Doesn’t Tobias deserve his max contract?

@mattwill  Eagles 32 Rams 19

BONUS: Rams score first.

Did Southwest used to not be as terrible? Or was I just in my 20s and had no concept of what nice things are?

What dishonest editing by Florio.  Intentionally cuta Kelce's statement short mid statement to sound like the Eagles were saying they ran the play illegally and Dickerson was offsides instead of playing the full clip where Kelce then says that the officials though Kelces arm was Dickerson's and actually the Commanders were lined up in the neutral zone.

Also says that because Eagles can successfully pull it off and other teams can't is more reason for the NFL to ban it.

Wilt was the most talented player ever, but he really didn't have the killer instinct. Maybe too busy banging three women a day.

But when he was surrounded with talent in 66-67, arguably one of the five best teams in NBA history.

This is a great test for Desai. He knows that the Rams are good at exploiting a weakness in our D. It's clear and obvious. Good coordinators can make adjustments to their game plan based on their opponents.  Let's see what he can do.

Zero confidence they do anything majorly different on D. It's been the same crap for years. It's really crazy

Sean Desai actually tries stuff. He'll have a custom-game plan for the Rams.

No idea whether it will work, but it will be different.

I've always agreed the max contract needs to go.  That doesn't change the fact that LeBron is responsible for opening the floodgates of stars jumping teams in their prime.

He therefore must take his share of responsibility for ruining competitive balance for a decade.

My guess: It won’t "work” in the sense that the defense has a good game, unless the DL dominates. We are going to struggle with their motion and bunch sets. The in-breaking routes will be a problem (although Blankenship might make a play on one). We should beat up their run game though.

CBP is like a giant party

Booooo. Play Dillard Vrabel.
