The Bears have allowed 25 points in 14 consecutive games despite having a defensive minded HC. They lost every one. If they do not win by Halloween, they will have a calendar year of losses (0-17)

What dishonest editing by Florio.  Intentionally cuta Kelce's statement short mid statement to sound like the Eagles were saying they ran the play illegally and Dickerson was offsides instead of playing the full clip where Kelce then says that the officials though Kelces arm was Dickerson's and actually the Commanders were lined up in the neutral zone.

Also says that because Eagles can successfully pull it off and other teams can't is more reason for the NFL to ban it.

Only marginally related, but I'm reminded of a story a guy I know told me recently. He's a lifelong Phillies fan who's in his seventies. He said when the Phillies won the World Series in 1980, he went nuts outside in the immediate celebration and noticed some old folks at the time who weren't really participating. Curmudgeons if you will. So when they won it all again in 2008, he realized that he was now of the same age as those old folks had been the first time they won. So he made a special point to NOT be a curmudgeon and he celebrated along with the rest of the crowd.

Nice story.

BTW that song (Dancing on my Own) is turrible.  No idea how it became the Phils' anthem but it needs to go.  Anything would be better.

They should get aboard the Taylor swift express. Use that to increase sales for the team. Have her breakup with Travis kelce and start dating Alec bohm

@mattwill

Imma roll with 34-24 Eagles.

I am not buying all the hand-wringing and whining.  "Oh Bluto, they have motion in their backfield.  We're afraid to win this game. We might have to get some sacks and score some points..."

Bonus:  Goedert gets a score.

Double Bonus: Cowboys beat the Niners.  And I don't care about the division, right now. I want to be alone at 5-0, so the Niners gotta go down.  "How 'bout dem Cowboyz!"

But I will avoid Southwest and Spirit at all costs.  I've literally seen trash bags used by multiple people on a single Southwest flight as carry on luggage (plus those f'ers stranded me in Omaha once when they switched me to an earlier flight and forgot to mention they didn't have a seat for me on the second leg).

I wonder if the trash bag is a way to get around the carry on bag size restriction. How would you accurately measure the H X W X depth of a trash bag? You could estimate it but if it wasn't clearly outside the maximum size, they're probably going to allow it. Plus, how could they check a trash bag?

"Anti-Hero" would be a great theme song for a Philly team!

But a lower ranking NSDAP that gets smacked by their superior officer for letting Charles Bronson, Jim Brown and company escape.

There are 4 players with legitimate GOAT claims in NBA history, IMO. In chronological order: Wilt, Kareem, Jordan and LeBron. And no Lebron haters, I really don't want to hear it. Just deal with it.

Wilt -- just the greatest statistical monster of all time. His clear negative is he didn't win enough and couldn't beat the Celtics.

Kareem -- I feel like he gets overlooked, but once again a stat monster who won MVPs and championships. The negatives are (i) his numbers are somewhat due to longevity and (ii) his championships in the 80s came on a stacked team with another all-time top 10 (Magic).

Jordan -- greatest scorer in NBA history, great defender, and 6-0 in NBA finals. Dominated the league. But there are 2 serious negatives (i) the 1993-1994 Bulls won 3 fewer games after he retired a week before training camp and made game 7 of the EC Semis and (ii) Jordan never faced tough competition due to expansion watering down the league (he faced one finals open with 3 HOF players, and that was the 1991 Lakers where Magic had HIV, Divac was a bench player and Worthy was hurt).

LeBron -- the greatest all around player statically (points, rebounds, assists). 10 finals appearances. Faced super teams in 8 of them.  Negatives -- he lost to the one of the non super team he faced (2011 Mavs), 4-6 overall finals record.

I guess you can include Russell too, but I don't. There's really not a wrong answer among those 4.

GOAT I can agree with.  Most influential not.  @Iggles_Phan’s four players are arguably more influential on the trajectory of the game.

Time for Carter and Williams to get more snaps.

Agreed.  How does that affect your score prediction for the game?

I have never made a score prediction and probably don't plan on doing one in the future.  I appreciate you asking though.

Most influential in changing the way the game is played I'd go as follows (some duos here)

Wilt/Russell -- they had to pass numerous rules to change the way the game is played to neutralize their dominance

Magic/Larry -- saved a dying league with 2 completely different styles. I'd argue Magic was more influential in changing the style of play

Jordan -- he made it into an international brand

Curry -- he's changed the game (for the worse IMO) by exploiting the disproportionate impact of the 3 point shot

TV gif. Jimmy Fallon as Sara on the Tonight Show wears a long blond wig and braces with a tube top. The character scrunches her nose in disgust and says, "Ew!"

Did you watching Winning Time?  It got cancelled after only two short seasons but they had a lot more story to tell.

I enjoyed it and was bummed it got cancelled. Really wanted to see them tell the story of '85 and '87. The guy playing Larry was fantastic.

Haha

I could go along with that.  The only difference I had was Dr. J making the game played above the rim more, in place of Curry with the 3s.   (Probably because I hate that the NBA is now 3s and slams only.)

Your reasons on the others is almost verbatim what I said.

Yeah, maybe I overlooked Dr. J, but focused more on Magic and Larry from that era. But he definitely took the game to a new place, and Jordan took it even higher arguably.

And I hate what Curry's impact has done to the league, but we have 4s and 5s shooting 3s now. His impact is undeniable.

Sean Desai actually tries stuff. He'll have a custom-game plan for the Rams.

No idea whether it will work, but it will be different.

This is my hope as well…fingers crossed
