every time I watch the Dodgers I say to myself I don’t know how they won as many games as they did this year. I look at that pitching staff and I don’t think it’s very good. Kershaw isn’t the same anymore and he misses a ton of time. I get you guys had a bunch of injuries and your urias was an idiot. But that rotation is not very good imo. The bullpen is solid and you guys can hit. It feels like that team was set up to win a lot of regular season games. but when you get to the postseason and you have to face better pitching like you guys are going to with Kelley and gallen (potential 4 times in that series) you guys we’re gonna be in trouble.

also, you guys need to just cut ties with Dave Roberts. He’s not the guy.

Pitching is definitely an issue. That was known before the season began.

I don't think they were expected to win the NL West this year.  Was supposed to be the Padres.  Kershaw is the Peyton Manning of baseball.  Great in the regular season but his play drops off big time in the playoffs.  But yeah they need better starting pitching.  The whole Trevor Bauer situation hurt them and Buehler getting hurt didn't help either.  Like I said I wasn't expecting them to beat Atlanta anyway if it came to that.  Unless they win game 2 of this series vs Arizona it looks like they won't even get that far.

Agree about Dave Roberts.  I've been wanting him gone for a few years.  The World Series they won in 2020 is nice but to me it wasnt a real series win.  Still counts though 😉.  He cost them at least 1 WS ring with his stupid decisions.  The 1st series against the Astros were they went to game 7 and he started Yu Darvish who had been struggling against Houston where as he could have played Rich Hill who had much better success against them.  Sure enough Darvish got rocked. Gave up 6 runs early and they lost the WS.

It sucks winning the West every year and having a top 3 record but yet they can't win the big one.  If they do lose this series I can see Roberts and some other changes happening.

If they ban the push for some stupid reason then the refs better be policing the LOS for defenders lining up in the neutral zone. I feel like they let teams get away with it against us.

If only the Jags had a (perfectly legal) play to get a guaranteed 1 yard

I don't see it that way at all.   Something can be a penalty without it being fine worthy.   That's the NFL admitting nothing.

I don’t believe that’s how it works though. My understanding is the NFL deems all personal fouls as fine worthy unless under review they determine that it should not have been called. I’ve read that multiple times, but perhaps it’s just an echo chamber.

The best part of the Giants failed "tush push” is that they never actually practiced the play live so they simply weren’t prepared for it.

Will they ban players from pushing a running back also.  Happens all the time and refs are really slow on killing the play.

I forgot that you can call a fair catch in the field of play on kickoffs now. That threw me off.

Bills defense is getting decimated with injuries

I'll be very surprised if Milano comes back this year after that.

I watched a couple hours of college games yesterday and I counted at least 5x that ball carriers were pushed in the pile.  Pushing the pile with the ball carrier in it has been around forever.

He has been around almost 20 years

I always forget that we almost traded for Ridley. There was a world where we have Ridley instead of AJ if the gambling suspension didn't happen.

Is it just me or is Lawrence nothing special? He flashes here and there but, I would think he would take it another level in his third year

I think Mahomes is the only true elite QB and then a group of really good ones ala Hurts, Lawrence, Burrow, Allen. Next group is Black Kirk and Kirk type, and finally just bad QBs.

It's such a hard position to play on a weekly basis and be elite.

How'd they call that a catch on the field. It didn't even look close.

Definitely, although I'm not even sure I put him in the hurts, Allen ect category yet either.

They won't. It will give the refs and league more ways to decide games.

Niners vs boys should be the best game of the day

It’s Mahomes in his own tier.

I think the next tier is Allen, Burrow, and Hurts…all of whom have some pretty major flaws.  Hurts only did it for 1 year and hasn’t been elite this year…so he’s essentially been an elite qb for a minority of his career.  Allen has the most talent out of all of them, but is the most inconsistent and maddening.  Burrow was really the logical #2 to Mahomes, but has been awful this year.  Still, those 3 are tier 2.

Tier 3 is just an undifferentiated morass of good QBs.  Longitudinally, they just aren’t as the above guys, but could be better in any given week.

He's not and never was.  Way over hyped prospect.

You guys are all sleeping on Herbert. The gap between him and Burrow is narrowing.

The just said during this game that Allen is learning to take what is there and not look for the big play all the time. Looks like he has been playing that way so far. Which is scary if he figures it out

I think Allen is going to be one of those guys that never totally figures it out.  He’s been in the league a while now.  He’ll have a game where he looks superhuman and goes toe to toe against Mahomes…and the next week he’ll single handedly lose to a mediocre team.  I think that’s just how he’s going to be.

I think Herbert will be there if he gets to the playoffs more and has more success. Not all his fault because his coaching isn't great and they can't seem to stay healthy either
