Plus their defense is legit.  It’s going to be a harder game than most think.

@mattwill

Eagles: 20

Jets: 19

Bonus: 5+ total INTs

Not that it mattered, but my goodness we got hosed on back to back spots on those tush push plus when we were trying to run the clock out. Also, kinda dumb to run out QB there with the game basically over. Just hand it to Gainwell and call it a day.

I think they had Hurts keep it solely because of ball security. Not that Gainwell is a fumbler (despite that potentially horrible one against Washington) but the chance of a handoff going awry is not zero. The only real chance the Rams had at that point was to get a defensive touchdown, either by a turnover or blocked field goal, which is why Sirianni ran the sneak on fourth down rather than try a field goal.

I had no problem with what they did. Frankly it's the way I would have played the position.

To me, the risk of injury outweighs the risk of a turnover on a handoff there (and even if we turn it over, it really wouldn’t have mattered in all likelihood). The game was all but over. No need to risk Hurts anymore.

I’m actually a little surprised we didn’t kick a field goal on 4th down. Hypothetically if the worst happened and the rams scored a td and recovered an onside kick then all they’d need  is a fg to win. With kicking the field goal makes them have to score tds with an onside. I get super unlikely but having to score 2 tds and recovery an onside is even lower percentage then td, onside and a fg.

@mattwill Eagles win 27-10

Bonus: Zach Wilson 3 turnovers

Crazy to think that we went from facing third and 1 at our 34 with 17 seconds left in second quarter to scoring on a one-yard TD run.

While I was watching them drive down the field, it made me think of what could have been if we got the ball back in the Superbowl.

That's the type of drive I would have expected...

@mattwill Eagles 31 - Jets 14

Turning point of the game.  If they hadn't scored there, it might have turned out differently

If Zach Wilson complete more than 60% of his passes and wins the turnover Battle it’sa failure no matter what the score outcome is lol. We need to unleash on him, and have Garrett Wilson with some help. They should fall apart quickly with their bad OL vs our DL.

@mattwill

Eagles 30

Jets 10

Swift with 100 yards rushing

Boston Scott TD

Interesting test for the Eagles Run D this week … Breece Hall is sixth in the NFL for rushing yards with a 7.2 YPC

Their OL will struggle against our DL

So, you are saying Siposs might be back?!  🤯

If true, the trick is having a bad punter whom no one wants. I think we got one, with another on speed dial.

The Jets OL is very, very bad. Breece is good, but the teams with good DL (Pats, Cowboys, Chiefs) kept him in check. We're getting the Jets' backup LT and RT, and their interior was already bad.

As long as we avoid the big play and double Garrett Wilson, we should hold them to 17 without any real issue.

I could see Breece popping one, but outside of that probably 2-3 ypc.

Sirriani addressed that and said he thought an immediate blocked FG for a TD was the worst case scenario that gave them more time than other scenarios. Makes sense

I've got no issue with running a play on 4th down.   I have a major issue with using your QB to run out the clock in a 2 possession game.

Swag should strap on the Don Beebe helmet during the 4-minute drill, honestly if one of the RBs can be trusted to take the snap they should do that.

Solak said on the Philly Special that since 2001, that has only happened 14 times with a team starting inside their 35 with less than 45 seconds and scoring a TD.

It was all over the league back in the day… well, maybe these guys and the OT from SF.

Oh man I never knew Beebee wore the cap too. I only knew of Kelso and the 49ers tackle #74

The Mark Kelso helmet is probably the correct attribution as he was the original; Wallace might of wore the double bubble from the get go.
