They could place Watkins on IR; not ideal, but Covey and OZ are there, plus Albert O. Then activate Dean

It's not like Watkins has done much of anything

Apparently it's his running deep down the field that makes this offense run 🙂

How good is Jeremy Chinn? Does he fit what the Eagles need?

So with the Harden talk of Sixers wanting to get an all-star.  Say they make the deal with the Clippers for 2 1st round picks and some salary fillers like Cov, Macurs Morris Jr., etc.  What All-Star level player do you think they would be making the run at?

Don't think it's anyone specific and don't think it'll be this year. Likely next summer.

Hah.  And my name is Travis Kelce

The chinn signing seems like an obvious and smart move considering how weak we are there.

shame Carter and slay are out.

Depends on what player becomes unhappy and disgruntled during the season and next offseason. And/or who makes it to FA

Chinn is a box safety. Justin Evans was/is our FS.

Go get Justin Simmons. An actual difference-maker signed past this year. He can transform this defense.

More on that possible interest in the article I posted above.  But bottom-line it is all speculation.

At this point that's all it can be... but I just don't see Ohtani as realistic in the least.  The Mets are likely to make a HUGE offer to him.  Phillies are already over the luxury tax, how could they legitimately spend that much more on Ohtani too?  I think I'd rather add Nola and Rhys back.... likely for less money than Ohtani gets.

Where's the real down side to putting Watkins on IR?

The way Sirriani was so casual about the Slay and Carter injuries made it seem like if it was a bigger game that they would probably give it a go. And that they’re just sitting because it’s ‘only’ the Jets.

That’s a dangerous game to play in the NFL. The Jets have been competitive and have enough talent to pull off an ‘Any Given Sunday’ win.

I hope our staff isn’t getting too cute here….this is the perfect recipe for a weird game.

Let's be honest... she's in a luxury box.  She can do almost anything she wants in that box... pop out for a little while the Chiefs have the ball, get spotted on camera, then duck back into the box while the Chiefs are on defense.  Those boxes aren't exactly roughing it while watching the dreck of the league.

I think it might be one of those on the fence situations... and with it being an out of conference game (not because its the Jets) they can afford to be a little more cautious and give them the extra time to recoup so that the injuries don't linger.   Pushing to play can make a two week injury into a full season nagging one.

If one of OZ or Covey get an injury, the depth is yikes deep.  But at this stage, he's not a player that would be massively missed - I suppose Swift could get slot snaps in that scenario

As others have said, the playing surface there probably has as much to do with them sitting as anything. Don't want to worsen injuries to 2 of your best players in this game.

Given that he's hurt, had no choice. If AJ or Devonta go down, then OZ is starting and Covey becomes our slot WR.

Yeah I understand the risk/reward.

Just saying, this went from a near sure win to don’t be shocked if things get weird.

We’ve struggled enough this season and the Jets have been competitive enough that this isn’t exactly a comfortable enough game to rest players if they can play.

How long are Slay and Carter expected to be out?  Big hits there on defense...

Jets got injuries too

Yikes, they might want trade for Goodrich.

Big news for the Jets.  I'm assuming Sauce was going to travel if Quez was out there

We think it's bad for the Eagles, they are waaaaay worse injury wise on the back end
