So the only one Hurts pass to the middle resulted in a 40 yard TD....sigh.

The only thing that changed with the offense from last season until now was Steichen out, Johnson in.

No other major changes.

And it's not Johnson's fault why?

Actually a lot more changed than just Johnson. The quarterback coach has changed. The offensive line has changed. The running back has changed. The defense isn’t getting 70 sacks. The quarterback is turning the ball over far more than he did the year prior. The schedule is tougher. Here’s the trippy part. They will likely win one less game than they did last season in the regular season. Kind of funny considering how terrible this team supposedly is.

The Eagles are in the top ten and points per game, and his team has a higher scoring average than the great Steichen and whatever Frank Reich was doing out there this season. 🤷‍♂️

But the eye test tells us this offense is not what it was last year. It’s forcing a lot more turnovers and it isn’t functioning at the level it did last year. I know the stats suggest it’s not that bad but it has been a struggle.

They’re not going to fire someone from an eye test and again that would mean one more change for the quarterback who has already gone through a change and his turnover numbers have suffered for it. You’re all asking for another 2020 season. Team fires Doug’s coordinators and then couldn’t come up with another OC so they hire a bunch of people. The Eagles (and fans) swore this would work, but ultimately the offense was a confused mess with no one knowing who was really in charge, who was being held accountable, and the HC went lame duck. The coach got fired, the quarterback wanted out, and in came Sirianni. Unlike then there isn’t a quarterback ready to replace the one we had. Dump the OC… Do you realize if the Eagles win out it’s only the 4th time in franchise history this team won 13 or more regular season games?

But we can all see this offense is not firing and at times looks clueless and broken. So what’s the answer? Because I absolutely get your point but we can’t continue with what we have because that’s not really working either. Players are visibly frustrated and not happy.

I see a defense that can’t rush the quarterback, can’t get turnovers, can’t get the offense short fields to work with, can’t hold a lead the offense gives them inside of two minutes, and is causing issues for this offense. This is just as much of an issue as choppy offense. They all are going to need to get back to work in off season. Jalen has to cut down his turnovers. Sirianni has to realize that they need to practice more and have more discipline. Johnson will need to improve on intermediate passing plays. Jalen has to realize everything isn’t boom or bust. Howie needs to do a much better job at replacing guys in the secondary, getting some linebackers, and replacing the old veterans on both sides of the football. A lot needs to be done but losing continuity in the coaching staff isn’t the answer.

The defense is an issue no doubt. But we knew this team was going to be an offensive based team due to the talent they have on that side of the ball. Right now they don’t have a lot of talent on the defensive side especially in the secondary. Guys are too old and there’s nothing now we can do about that. I just don’t think running it back with the same offensive minds is going to help us. BJ has not done a very good job and he’s really not shown signs of getting any better.

Best we can hope for is that someone sees a 13-4 team and thinks their OC is worth a shot as a HC

Or, the OC stays, learns, gets better, more creative, and tells Nick "let's just matriculate the football down the field and score TD's, no matter how we do it, explosive plays or death by a hundred paper cuts".

Johnson needs experience to grow.  He may develop to a good OC, though not so at this point.  Get a vet offensive coach to help him in the playoff would be a wise move.  Doubt if other teams will pirate him away in the off season though.  Still a work in progress and not yet a finished product.

That is pretty much the only real possibility for change.

I don’t see any real option to change there. The defense is the side of the ball that needs the most help and change. This defense provides little to no help to this offense and that’s a problem. You saw how Covey getting that return really assisted the offense. This team has lacked the short fields they got last year. I’d like to see how this offense performs with the turnovers being cut down or out and the defense getting at least two turnovers themselves.

We were 10-1. We’re now 11-5 with losses to 3 win Arizona and Seattle’s backup QB.

Never seen anything like it

1st and 20 with basically the game on the line and two QB runs when it was clear the eagles needed 7 to have any chance of winning? That play has been called so many times this season and been figured out by other teams. BJ will keep calling it though. Anyway with the Eagles defense the offense is under constant pressure to score on every possession. Until the defense gets fixed nothing they do on offense will be enough.

I’ve been done with BJ for quite a while. Probably around the buffalo game. Why does he feel he has to call that Fing qb draw/power run in the same Fing situations EVERY FING TIME? What is it about that FING BUBBLE SCREEN that he feels like he has to call it in the same situation every time?!

and I knew he was gonna get Smitty injured on that stupid thing and sure enough, it happened.

BJ’s not the worst of this team’s problems. But that shouldn’t absolve him from just being a straight up **** play-caller.

Why is he still employed? He should've been let go a long time ago. Brian Johnson is a bust as a coach.

It's absurd. These coaches are abject failures.

I seriously don’t know if it’s poor scheme, poor play calling, or Jalen just not seeing it, but this team just lacks an intermediate offense. That’s why they seem to inexplicably throw bombs and 50/50 balls on third and medium to short plays. It’s also why they look completely lost inside the red zone when they’re not close enough to Bro Shove. They’re obsessed with these runs to Jalen. You have playmakers like Goedert and Brown, but can’t figure out how to scheme those guys open for scores in the red zone is unacceptable.
