Bench his bum a$$ after that pathetic display.

I know they won’t bench him. I know that benching him has larger ramifications beyond this year but they absolutely should bench him.

His aorry arse deserves to get benched NOW!!!!! Unacceptable 3 weeks!!!!!! I don't care if he plays great next week!!!!!! Still unacceptable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not all his fault, but, he's playing horribly lately. Last years Hurts is not coming back for this season.

He has "Early Onset Russell Wilson Syndrome".

He's always responded well to tough coaching. He's said so himself in the past. He isn't receiving that now. They're babying the SB MVP. He's regressing horribly. No surprise there. At his very best, he's very good. The problem is that he can't sustain that level of play and the coaches obviously can't scheme or motivate that level of play out of him. His spiral will continue. He'll just be another "Oh, how the mighty have fallen" story.

Has the NFL DCs caught up to him and have learned how to play against him?

Or is he just in a QB slump? And he's possibly regressing?

On to the 2026 season!!!!

His anticipation, timing, accuracy, and field vision are just brutal.

He's had time in the pocket to throw the ball. He's making bad decisions and bad throws

Earlier in the season Patullo was the main problem. The combo of OC and QB hasn't been a good fit at all, and Nick doesn't bring anything except motivational speeches. Recently Patullo has slightly improved, and Hurts has gotten way worse. Hurts has been awful lately. He should've been benched in the Bears game to send a message and maybe McKee would bring a spark. Reid once benched McNabb and then he started the rest of the season and they went to the NFCCG. Sometimes a player - any player - needs that accountability and humility.

Hurts did well with Steichen, Moore and even Brian Johnson. His pass numbers in most categories in 2023 were actually his best, it's just all the interceptions were horrible. Last year they had Barkley's historic year and dominant O line. They didn't need to pass as much, and when they did they could afford to be more conservative.

it's not a good fit to rely on Hurts to pass that much with no run game and the O line banged up. His running is slower and more hesitant the last couple years as well. Yet, last night the run game finally did well and the passing sucked. We just can't get the entire offense to perform in the same game it sucks.

Hurts needs to be benched. But they won't. They'll probably do well enough and beat the Raiders and think things are fine.

Of course despite how awful Hurts was last night, there were also some good enough throws that AJ dropped. Had AJ caught the one in the end zone, that TD would have won the game.

Hurts has sucked, but overall the offensive coaching throughout the year has been awful too. Hurts contract means he's going nowhere so they will need to hire a new OC who has experience calling plays. And get the O line healthy. It's a shame because the roster has star skill players and a great defense and it's being wasted.

I just feel that Hurts has been in the league long enough he should be his own offensive coordinator and be able the dictate the offense. The greats lost offensive coordinators all the time too but they eventually didn't need to lean on offensive coordinators as much didn't matter who was calling the plays.

That’s all we need. Jalen calling plays.

🤣

What’s the record for delay of games?

Didn't say I want him too, just saying he has been around long enough that a change at offensive coordinator shouldn't affect him this much and should be able to call his own plays more at this stage of his career. Obviously he can't and don't want him too

Posted this in the blog, adding it here too. Hurts has sucked recently but to address the narrative about him.

We have to stop this narrative that it was ONLY 2022 that he performed well.

You know, Brian Johnson wasn't that bad in retrospect. The team offense ranks in points and yards were exactly the same from Brian Johnson to Kellen Moore. In 2023 Hurts actually had higher passing numbers in a lot of categories than in 2022, but the interceptions were so high. That made Siri more conservative, plus Howie got Barkley and his historic running season made it easy to be run dominant in 2024. They were able to play conservative last year. He had some great passing performances last year. He had his highest pass yards at 311 against the Saints without AJ Brown. He had the "is that what y'all wanted to see" game against the Steelers with 290 yards, 2 TD and a 123.1 passer rating. He had multiple games of more than 250 yards which of course isn't a lot for a QB normally, but in a run-first offense that was limiting Hurts passing and playing conservative that was good for what they needed.

In 2021 Hurts did well considering he was a first time starter with a first time Head Coach, and his receivers were Smith in his rookie year, Reagor, JJAW and Quez Watkins. The offense rankings in 2021 were higher than this season.

Offense rankings:

2021: Points 12th, Yards 14th

2022: Points 3rd, Yards 3rd

2023: Points 7th, Yards 8th

2024: Points 7th, Yards 8th

2025: Points 19th, Yards 24th

Despite the issues this year, if Hurts plays all 17 games he's on pace for 3600 yards which would be his 3rd best pass yard season, and 24 pass TDs which isn't a lot but would be his career high.

Hurts will never be a top passer in the league and he has his limitations. He has been awful in recent games and I said many times he should have been benched in recent games. But the OC needs to design plays and call games to his strengths. People have endlessly pointed out all of Patullo's flaws that have nothing to do with Hurts, such as usage of the TE, WR routes, no carries for Tank, being predictable, not getting play calls in on time which reduces time for pre-snap read of the defense and decision time for potential audibles, and the offense is always rushing to snap down to 1 second. All of that is Patullo.

We're stuck with Hurts. They decided to give him a contract extension and agree to a no-trade clause. So they need to have a strong OC to run the offense, not experiment with Nick's friend who never called plays before. With an opportunity to repeat as SB champions you don't experiment with someone who's never called plays, that's asinine!

This offseason they will need to get an experienced OC, which they should have learned the lesson from 2023. But they'll be able to evaluate if the offense and Hurts perform better and if Hurts truly has regressed and is Russell Wilson 2.0 they can plan to move on from him.

Just take the kids gloves off hurts and have him run around a little more. Playing him so safe, its like watching paint dry.

^^^^^

I don't want to see "hero ball" though. Saw that movie before with Ginger Jesus and it got the Eagles nowhere.

Play disciplined, sound, smart football. Too late for that now, IMO. The team and QB are what they are. Cooked.

2026, here we come!!! groovy

Reports are that he does not want to run more

As @NOTW says - Hurts was really good in more than just 2022. He got them to 10-1 with a brutal schedule and no running game or D in 2023. He was very good last year whenever he needed to be.

Green Bay, Detroit and Chicago were all pretty brutal conditions. He outplayed Love, Goff and Williams. He sucked against the Chargers, but he also made some great throws, including that throw to Smith on 3rd and long that people say he can’t make.

A lot of quarterbacks look good in the regular season and then choke in the playoffs. Hurts has earned the right to play through his struggles.

Strong disagree. Its not babying, its Kotite level incompetence.

The D has been a mess at times but they have highly competent Fangio to right the ship.

Siri has a Patullo offense where 10 seconds are wasted getting the play in slow and Steen tips every snap and DBs sit on curls and comeback routes.

It can't get better because Patullo is a fool and Siri is protecting him as his best friend.

If Siri needs me to paint like van Gohg and I keep giving him stick figures, its not going to be a masterpiece if he gets more involved in brushwork.

Don't make Hurts the bad guy here. Its clearly and obviously Patullo and Siri.

Hurts did not put one of the 3 worst blockers in the NFL in on 275 offensive snaps.

Hurts did not take a 9 carry 104 yard game 9+ ypc back on the Eagles and give him 9 carries in 5 weeks.

Scott and Gainwell split 107 carries in 2022. They can't find 4 or 5 a game for Bigsby?

HURTS IS NOT THE ONE USING DEVONTA SMITH LIKE HE'S TAVON AUSTIN!

Someone tell this room temperature excuse for a coach that he can use Dotson in no-pattern useless motion instead of DeVonta.

This is not just a bad coaching job. It's Urban Meyer 2021 level fraud.

At some point, the blame game and excuse making for Hurts needs to stop. Hurts has absolutely earned the benefit of the doubt, but to make a post like this is where "clearly Patullo and Sirianni” are the bad guys is a bridge too far. There have been too many instances of Hurts refusing to even get to his 3rd read and leaving plays on the field. The easy pitch and catch TD to Dotson that he missed when he threw the pick instead to the DT then fumbled it back in the same play is a prime example.

Dan Orlovsky has been pretty vocal in his support and defense of Hurts for some time and even he is saying the quiet part out loud now:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/dan-orlovsky-expunges-eagles-coach-of-all-blame-after-loss-to-chargers/ar-AA1S5BgN

Hurts was playing very well until the pressure of AJ complaining every week took its toll. That, and every dope in the media was blaming just Jalen for the offensive woes. The OL has been a mess this season, we have SB who rarely cracks 60 yds rushing a game, and everyone knows about KP's issues. We were 8-2 and then Jalen started pressing to appease all the critics, which has resulted in a 3 game losing streak. IF the staff is smart, they'll let Hurts run more hurry up and limit KP. Put in Tank more, and give Barkley outside runs. I swear, if I see them keep calling SB for an inside run vs the Raiders, then we are doomed 😂

The real issue here is the HC sucks at play calling. If Sirianni called the plays and was consistent with it, we wouldn’t have this crazy yo-yo type up and down seasons. Either they force Sirianni to be the play caller or they bring someone in as the OC who has no desire to become a HC anytime soon.

Any QB currently collecting a paycheck...including most of the NCAA ones that now collect paychecks....could get plugged into an NFL offense for 17 games and throw for 3,600 yards.

Hurts is back to not seeing the whole field. He tips where's he's going with the ball by looking there pre-snap and then locking in after the snap. How many open receivers does it take for him to be appropriately criticized? The play design and play calling are really bad as well. You want to stop the d-backs from sitting on stop routes? Run some crossing routes. Oh yeah, that'd put receivers over the middle a lot and Hurts doesn't throw well over the middle. Guess they can't do that.

So, if they must run those stop routes, the answer is simple. He has to get rid of the ball much earlier. When the WR turns around the ball should be in the air at about 10 ft. away. Enough time to find it and catch it in under a second. Can't jump that kind of timing. Oh yeah, Hurts isn't that good at timing throws. Maybe they don't practice it enough. Who knows. Not Petulllo or Sirianni, that's for sure. Their idea of creative is the WR screen that never works. That they intentionally throw it to the skinny kid and expect him to gain yards like T.O. did is beyond stupid design. It's coaching malpractice, yet they keep trying.

Don't get me wrong, While Jalen is part of the problem, it's not all Hurts' fault. The O-line looks like they are pass blocking on run plays. They're getting physically man handled up front in the run and the passing game every single week. Petullo isn't the guy to fix all of this. Sirianni isn't either. They'll keep running that stupid inside zone into a wall of defenders and they'll keep calling all those stupid stop routes that defenses are now starting to jump. As bad as the Raiders are, they might just win today. It's that bad, particularly up front. This team has lost the ability to do the basics of football. Sad.

Nice bounce back game for Jalen. Just a great game in all phases by players and coaches alike.
