The 2nd half offense to maintain a lead by running on 1st and 2nd down and gaining no yards or losing yards and then asking Hurts to consistently convert a 3rd and long is ridiculous. There was one drive in the 1st half then ended up stalling into a FG, but they still converted I want to say three 3rd and longs on that drive. That can't be the norm. The offense is just way too conservative at times. Even their first 15 plays aren't great and are often too conservative.

  • All of those guys changed teams  I like where you are going with this

  • Coaching and play design?  I don't understand why Hurts has so many plays where he stands in the pocket and delivers accurate passes but you guys never talk about that, only the bad plays.

There is no such thing as a natural NFL passer. It’s the hardest job in sports.

Giovanni Carmazzi was a natural passer.

McKee would have been slaughtered or forced turnovers.

To think he is ready for that kind of game with Patullo and that O-line is just astounding ignorance.

He is going to kill DC because DC is garbage.

Interesting take: no such thing as a natural passer. Coach Sarkisian would differ with you as recently as this month: https://www.si.com/college/texas/football/what-steve-sarkisian-said-about-dia-bell-on-texas-longhorns-early-signing-day

As for predicting Tanner McKee’s performance against the Bills, you don’t know what that outcome would have been. It’s a hot, emotional take in response to any criticism of Jalen Hurts.

PICK SIX RATES (pick 6 per pass)

Namath 134.4 (what an absolute pathetic joke)

Harrington 181.3

Bortles 202.6

Jameis 230.3

Stafford 272.6

Marino 288.2

Favre 317.8

Manning 347.4 (77.5 in SBs)

Eli 369

Brees 390.8

Starr 393.6

Bradshaw 487.6

Dak 527.6

Darnold 561.4

Goff 575.8

Hurts 598.3

Purdy 663

Brady 669.4

R Wilson 680

Lamar 717.5

McNabb 767.7 (192.3 playoffs)

Montana 898.5

Lamonica 1300.5 (same era as Namath)

Rodgers 1449.3

Allen 2044

Its no accident that Stafford is 119-118-1 and made only 3 pro bowls in 17 years.

There is nothing special about him besides his outstanding PR.

Although we don’t know how good or bad Tanner McKee would be against the Bills , is it realistic to assume a backup late round pick is suddenly the answer to the passing issues? Based off what?

That’s a fair question and it’s equally unsafe to assume he would have been mince meat against the Bills. Wasn’t Tom Brady a backup late round pick? Now, I am not suggesting Tanner McKee is the next Tom Brady nor should he replace Hurts if we are going to stick to the offense that brought us a SB, but the premise that McKee can’t succeed because he was a late round pick is unfounded. All McKee has done in limited opportunities has gone 33 of 48 for 356 with 4 TD’s and no picks and likely increased his trade value.

The overarching question I’ve had all season is what is the desired identity of the QB role and passing game in this offense? Whether by organizational design or by Hurts own decision, there is little threat of QB runs. This has been the most significant change from last season and it’s had the biggest impact on the identity of the offense. The 11 v 11 offense stresses the defense and plays to Hurts strengths. If the desire is to get the ball out fast and make quick reads in the passing game, then the offense isn’t going to play to Hurts strengths, but more to his weaknesses. In previous posts I’ve stated that Hurts is the best QB in the league for the offense that we’ve been running for the past few seasons.

If the Eagles want a WCO, do you think Hurts is the right fit?

I think the Eagles want to win and aren’t obsessed with the WCO nearly as much as they used to be. If they were still under that umbrella then wouldn’t have drafted Hurts to begin with. Getting back to McKee though I don’t think the Eagles are thinking McKee is their guy of the now or the future. He was drafted to groom and possibly flip for a higher pick. To invoke Brady thoughts over 1 start against a really bad football team is a reach for sure though. Reminds me of the silly Minshew

Mania over that guy beating the Jets. It os far more probable Tanner McKee becomes like most mid to late round QB draft picks especially after teams build take on him than he becomes the next Brady or Purdy.

Uncle Rico is a natural passer.

That nobody who 85% will never do anything in the NFL may very well be a natural passer.

If there was a hit the target robots league then he should go #1 after his sophomore year.

There is no such thing as an NFL Natural passer.

Rodgers was only considered seriously by 2 teams for round 1. Its partly because his throwing motion was crap.

The Packers rebuilt him.

A clown would assume because the end result looks good that Rodgers was good to go from day 1.

He was 6-10 playing for the first time in year 4. He sucked when he did play in the first 3 years.

Josh Allen was a horrendous NFL passer for several years. That guy was built through the fire of NFL experience.

He had all the tools, maybe FREAKBEAST QB1 of all-time.

He was still clueless as a passer on day 1.

You are going to have a hard time coming up with better poster boys than Allen and Rodgers for passing.

Lets add in Elway who was never a great NFL passer. He had 120 TDs to 114 picks with a 54.2 % completions through 1989.

He ran around like Tarkenton and made plays like Hurts or Allen or Tarkenton.

Elway is 86th all time in low int % . The only year without double digit picks was never.

This includes under Shanahan with a demigod at RB1.

He had the same physical arm tools as Rodgers and Allen.

Like I said somewhere else, Gio Carmazzi of the Brady 6 had better natural tools than Brady.

If one of them was a natural passer then it was Gio.

"Boy, that Patrick Ramsey sure throws a pretty interception"

This idea that some people aren’t born with talents and skills that translate into the ability to pass a football better than others, hence a natural passer is just plain idiotic. You may be the biggest numbskull on the boards.

If Jalen doesn't play this week, he goes into the playoffs cold, coming off that awful 2nd half versus the Bills.

Man, he stunk it up in the 2nd half.

oops. Correction.

We can't win without Jalen Hurts.

Especially if Siri and Howie quit on the team already.

Also, Jalen had zero completions this week.

So this game makes Sirianni 3-5 in games Hurts isn’t starting.

Well, Hurts had a chance to put the team on his back and made two bad throws to end the season. I had belief that he was going to flash some of the magic, but there’s just been no magic this season to his game. What a waste…Barkley goes for over a hundred, Mitchell has two picks. If you’d told me that before the game, I would say Birds win by 3 TD’s. And all of this against a banged up 49er defense with guys playing that probably won’t be on a roster next year. Time to fire Patullo and probably trade AJ. Too much invested in Hurts to move on and let’s see if he can be as good as he was a season ago with a new OC.

He sucked today.

Jalen had some efficient games this season, but was nowhere close to the MVP (type) level he has played at in previous seasons. The offense sputtered far too often.

Some want to blame the OC. But I can't put it entirely on Patullo or the coaching staff. Hurts needs to really study this entire season and learn to perhaps check down instead of trying to extend plays by rolling out and throwing it away. There's always a check down if you don't hold the ball too long. If it's his decision not to run and/or run with urgency, or it's the coaches' decision, it's wrong for this offense. You can't neuter such an important element if he's the QB.

Everybody will shoot at their favorite target now that the season is over for the Eagles. For some, it will be Jalen. To me, it was a little bit everybody and everything. I just want to see better performances next season from our players and coaches.

From Jalen, I want to see more urgency and for him not to treat downs like they don't matter. I'd love to see him take full command of the leadership role and do things during the game to motivate or inspire the best from teammates.

Lead the league in three and outs. Hurts constantly rolled out of clean pockets to just throw it away. Hurts may not hold all the blame but he certainly was not good this year.

It's been 5 years and he hasn't improved at all in this area and might have even regressed so I'm not hopeful

Hurts has had another MID season at best. Jacoby Brisset with scrubs had similar numbers as hurts.

I don’t particularly think that Jalen was the main reason we lost this game, but he did play a part in it. He had a lot of his passes sail on him. With that being the case his receivers failed him big time in this game. AJ Brown let some many passes fall through his hands. Saquan looking downfield before he catches the ball. Smitty with a drop in the final drive on third down. Positive gains on offense leading to holding calls. They never got out of their own way as an offense. Time for a new OC….again.

The league script called for the Eagles to throw this game. Also, to put on a display of team dysfunction.

Next chapter: Break up the Eagles. Start over. Fire Siri and Patullo. Trade Brown and Hurts.

The Eagles aren’t breaking up, and they’re not foreign Sirianni or trading Hurts. They do need to move some money from that offense to this defense and upgrade this offensive line. Howie has a lot of work to do this offseason.

Hurts wasnt the issue today. I thought they should've had more designed runs for him, but even on the 2 I think he had, they got called back due to holding calls. What's bad is that those opportunities were kind of there all game and we just didnt take advantage of it. Im not saying he had this amazing game, but he didnt go out and throw two bad INTs like Purdy. Both QBs had some poor throws due to the wind, the only reason Brock had more yards is due to his WR's actually making big plays after the catch.

Yeah, he had some clean pockets with nobody open lol. I'll be happy once this team can land a competent OC that won't be a one year rental that bounces for a HC gig after the season, or gets fired due to incompetence.
