Welp he proved me wrong today. 😊

Better game from Hurts and the offense overall. Yes, people will say it was just the Raiders but if they didn't perform well enough, even in a win they'd complain. So at least give credit, they shutout a bad team and rested starters in the 4th quarter.

They need to be consistent with it the rest of the season. Head into the playoffs more confident and consistent, reducing the mistakes and issues. More to prove.

Joe Burrow is on a Stranger Things vibe.

His 2025 passer rating is in the 80s.

Good game by Hurts. Would have had another perfect QB rating if not for basic drops by Goedert and Bigsby.

Three touchdowns is still three touchdowns. Don’t care if Jalen tush pushes for 3 or throws for three, it’s still 21 points.

Much better game against an inferior opponent that looks to be going through the motions to get to the offseason.

When Hurts uses his legs, the offense is totally different. And when the offense goes through Hurts as a runner instead of AJ as a receiver, this is the result. We’ve seen 3 weeks of AJ at 100 yards plus, and we went 0-3 and Hurts looked like Bobby Hoying.

Hurts is not and never will be a classic QB with a very high football IQ and anticipation. He’s never been in the mold of Manning or Brady. If the plan is to mold this offense into a more traditional offense, then bench him. He won’t give you the best chance with his skill set. If Hurts himself refuses to run, then bench him, because that is what makes him special. But what we saw against the Raiders can be duplicated against any other team in the NFL. That style of offense gives any defense fits.

I would like to see Hurts retire his little "glide" step when running sideways. He's not super quick, but is surprisingly fast once he's running. Nobody is biting on that move and it's giving defenders a chance to close on him.

Yeah I think he’s a good runner but more often than not you see him with that sidestep or fake or whatever it is and it doesn’t work. He’s actually much better at cutting back inside I think and I’d like to see a bit more of that. But honestly it was just so great to see him back running more.

He won the Super Bowl.

Any QB currently collecting a paycheck...including most of the NCAA ones that now collect paychecks....could get plugged into an NFL offense for 17 games and throw for 3,600 yards.

Yeah, but Hurts also doesn't have a ton of attempts. Herbert has 54 more attempts and only 200 more yards passing on the season than Jalen. Stafford, the frontrunner for MVP has 73 more attempts, as their offense airs it out a lot. I'm OK with the limited pass yards as long as he's efficient. He was very efficient this season until they started forcing it to AJ. Also, Lamar has only cracked 4k passing yards once in his career, and he's already hailed as one of the best QB's to ever do it.

Sometimes people need to be careful of what they wish for. Some of these guys are really good until teams start getting film on them. You play this game to win. Jalen Hurts is 55-25 in career starts with two Super Bowl appearances, and a Super Bowl victory. Some people I guess assume every team does that. Talk to a Cleveland Browns fan and I am sure you will get a different reaction.

And was named the MVP of said Super Bowl. Does that absolve him from any critiques?

Hurts deserves criticism, but he has a sufficient career resume (including two incredibly strong Super Bowl performances) where the questions regarding whether he is our franchise quarterback and whether he should be benched for McKee are unwarranted.

No, but he’s not the only person on this roster who has struggled this season, he’s led the team to 9 wins, and he’s had past successes. He had the worst game of his career and the clown show starts with pleading for backups again. Is that necessary?

Are you talking about the team wins?

He has shown, you cannot expect him the throw 30+ times a game. He is not that QB. 8 of 9 wins he has thrown last then 30 times. The Rams game he threw 32 times. We scored with less than 2 minutes left to take the lead. That is not a mistake.

I honestly hate when he does that. Not sure why he started doing it, but it surprises no one and usually leads to a loss or little gain. Another thing I have noticed is that Jalen doesn't like to throw the ball away as much as he did before. I see him run out of bounds or go down losing yards. Just throw the ball away and don't take unnecessary losses. Oh, and look @VeeMak I criticized Jalen Hurts! Not a difficult thing to do, and it doesn't have to be extreme.

Late in 2023, Hurts had a bad habit of self sacking himself. I’ve noticed he’s done it a few times this year in recent weeks just not as often. He needs to stop that.

There is plenty to criticize when it comes to Jalen, but I really would like to see some consistency at his OC spot. I mean can we get at least two seasons with him and the OC? That's why I would rather KP just improves and stays. I want to see he and Jalen figure it out together.

What are you tagging me for? I don’t care if you love Hurts, hate him, or gargle his cawk and bawls.

Don’t care who or what you gargle, but don’t project that on me. Are you not the one who ASSumes I have issues with Jalen getting criticized?

I mean, we could have Joe Burrow right now, who doesn't even appear to want to play football, lol. I'm all for criticism, but Hurts hasn't been all that bad, especially when you compare him to Lamar, Mahomes, and Burrow. Mahomes has been anything but the "goat" for 3 straight seasons now, yet he's still ranked #1 by many due to his past success. He's averaged double digit INTs for 3 straight seasons and has not thrown for over 30 TDs once. He and Jalen have the same amount of passing TDs this year, but Mahomes has 5 more INTs - and that's with Jalen giving out INTs like candy to trick or treaters vs the Chargers. Oh, and Hurts also has a higher QB rating than Mahomes for 2 seasons now.

Reminds me of how after one season Jayden Daniels and the Commanders were just anointed the team to beat in the East. Now look at him. Completely injury prone and he has a lower completion percentage than Jalen. To be clear Jalen deserves criticism for his play especially against the Chargers, but he’s not the only one. The most critical are the same clowns who tried to say the Eagles made the playoffs his first full season as the starter because of Kelce.
