Was that before or after you exchanged pictures of each other's buttholes?

@Godfather turns that picture into a Christmas tree ornament and the theme for the family dinner is "It's a Dirtstah Christmas."

So we’re like one injury away from playing Opeta/Driscoll at C? That’s fun

Was listening to Marks and Reese talk about how Jalen's sitting on the bench and being stoic is possibly coming back to bite him with the team and performance, especially when he makes comments to the media about the team. I'm sitting here thinking about it more and it's really worrying. Nobody seems to want to approach him and he's not trying to rally the team or talk to his skill players when things are falling apart during the game.

When they win, we praise him for being focused and unemotional, all about business.  When they lose, now it's a narrative that he's too stoic and teammates aren't around him.

There are also clips of him going around hyping guys up, teammates talking to him, etc.  The camera happens to show a clip for 2 seconds and it becomes the whole narrative all of a sudden.  You take everything his coaches and teammates say about him: great leader, focused on winning, etc.

When this team loses, all the conspiracy theories come out.  All of a sudden "anonymous" sources start ripping the coaches, there's always drama and the click bait media jumps all over it because they know most Philly fans fall for it every time.

Eagles - 33
Giants - 19

Covey with a punt return for TD.

I've been through a lot of disappointment in my years rooting for the Eagles but I've never felt this sick of a feeling over a season.

Meh.  Not a ton of players get into the "hoop la!” during games/in the middle of games. (Other than celebrations or a quick let’s go! Type of thing)

During games they are remained focused on the game and/or adjustments.   Maybe some pep talks during halftime in the locker room but typically that’s it.  The reason for this is that you want to avoid disagreements between players on the sidelines (which can easily happen during the heat/momentum) of the game, then losing focus, etc

Exactly.  If he were talking with teammates they'd say he should be studying and focused!  This fan base is never happy with anything ever.

It was good to see this quote from Hurts:

Hurts knows they have to improve to go deep in the playoffs.

"It’s a matter of being on the same page,” Hurts said. "It takes everyone being all-in, in all aspects. And it starts with me. There’s multiple opportunities out there. In the end, there’s just not another way you’d have it. The trust that we have in one another, how much we communicate as players. ... We just have to be better; I have to be better. Minimize the mistakes, the penalties, the mental errors. Play team football and it starts with me leading that. We’ve lost games because I can be better. That will change everything, and I accept that.”

Really? Those '02 and '03 losses in the NFCCG due to the FO's refusal to invest in LBs and WRs made you feel less sick than this?

Recency bias?

Buddy Ryan's teams with amazing defenses never win a single playoff game.  The team has had awful droughts throughout history and some big let downs.  This team is coming off just a 3 point loss in the Super Bowl, played the toughest schedule in the league, and if they win out they'll be the #2 seed and host a playoff game.

Reid's teams teased us with 3 NFCCG in a row. The Bucs loss at the last game at the Vet was the worst feeling for me, and after they lost again the next year I stopped letting the outcome of a football game played by millionaires for my entertainment affect my emotions that strongly.  It's not worth it.  Teams around the league all have their ups and downs. It sucks when they lose 3 in a row.  But Christmas is this weekend, there's family and other things going on.  If they win the next 3 and hopefully play better and have a more impressive offensive performance that will help too.

There have been more disappointing seasons, but the expectations and the way each game has gone this season has probably aged me 15 years. We were spoiled last year with the way they hammered a lot of teams and had the game wrapped up by halftime. There have been none of those this season and even the wins have been excruciating. The New England game, both Washington games, the first Dallas game, KC, Buffalo. And they were even bailed out by other teams' mistakes in the wins. You just never got the sense that they were winning these games, just surviving.

The offense has struggled the past three weeks, but it really has been the same team that we saw in the wins all season long. The defense having cataclysmic errors, the offense not being able to end games. Neither side picking up for the other. The only difference is that SF, DAL, and SEA didn't let them off the hook. That Seattle game was basically the same exact ending as the first Dallas game. The only difference being Seattle didn't have the penalties and the defensive line didn't come up with a sack.

My expectations are now gone though seeing how everything has panned out. It's a similar feeling to 2021 where just get to the playoffs, hope for the best, but expect the worst. I don't think this team can go into SF, DAL, or DET and get a win. But that's why they play the games.

If it's making you sick, you need a new hobby bub. It is the roman circus after all.

For those who are really down on the eagles right now:

Who are you more confident in winning a title this season, Eagles or Sixers?

Eagles.

This offense could always just get super hot. Unlikely, but possible.

The Flyers.

Maybe he's new to this misery.

Long timers can go back to feeling this way for basically an entire decade and a half.  (Post-Jurgensen trade - start of Vermeil era)

To me, nothing has and probably will never be as painful as that 2002 loss at the Vet in term of sports. That was supposed to be our year and it should have been a Hollywood ending, instead of a horror show.
If possible, I would rather have had the Eagles win the SB then instead of 2017/18.

That was gut wrenching for quite some time.

i think this year is one of the most frustrating years though, when you look at the season. We have a good record, but haven’t played one damn good game all around. With all the expectations and the talent on offense it’s just extremely frustrating week in and week out.
Of course it’s not heartbreaking like some of the losses in big games, but throughout a season I can’t remember feeling this aggravated by their play.

Quite possible. In the hockey playoffs, you can win the Cup as an 8 seed.

NFL teams have won the Super Bowl as the lowest seed before too, but almost always with a top D.

As frustrating as some of these seasons can be, we have a Super Bowl.

It's different now.

The Fing play caller ruined the season

Yup.

Younger people will never understand the 2002 loss to the Bucs. There is no close 2nd to worse loss in my lifetime.

The 76ers look great.   But with the 76ers you can’t really tell until they’re already in the playoffs.  But I think they have a decent shot of going far this year - best team chemistry I’ve seen in a long time with them.
