Where are we?

Living in a world where Jack Jones (never heard of him til a little while ago so I’m not sure if that’s his name) doesn’t play for the Eagles! I hate that world!

I was certain RGIII was going to transform the Redskins and HATED that they drafted him. We all know how that worked out. They didn't help things by destroying his knee rather than letting him heal up but just an example of QB who people thought had it all.

Saquan was believed to be a generational RB. We can argue the draft resources used by the NYG to get him but another player I thought was going to give the Eagles fits.

HATED CeeDee going to Dallas. While he's been on a tear and has given the Eagles fits, he hasn't dominated like I thought.

Granted Saquan and CeeDee aren't playing QB so not the best comparison but point is, our NFCE rivals are always going to get good players. The Redskins spent nearly a decade picking in the top 10 and just traded away two of their recent 1st round picks.

When I look at Caleb Williams and how he carries himself compared to Jalen Hurts (even in college) it's apparent he's not on the same level as Hurts from a leadership standpoint. I can't say it enough how impressed I am with Hurts. It's funny. I was, and still am a Carson Wentz supporter so I wasn't buying in to Hurts after his rookie year but when you look at him and his maturity and the way he carries himself you just can't help but be totally impressed. I crave authenticity in people and I'm often described as an old soul and that's exactly what Jalen Hurts is. He's an old soul and doesn't fit in with his generation. I didn't think he was authentic at first because he seemed like a quote waiting to happen but it's just who he is and how he was raised. So happy the Eagles have him.

Tbh there was a ton of people on this board that thought cd lamb was overrated and not as good cause he played in the big 12. Remember when it was ruggs, jeudy and lamb, i was one of the few that said I absolutely loved lamb and would take him over ruggs and jeudy. Granted jefferson became the best of them but Lamb finished 6th in receiving yards and receptions last year and is top 5 currently in both this year (3rd in receiving yards behind hill and brown).

You and me both. CeeDee Lamb is one of my favorite college WRs over the last 10 years. Was certain he would be an Eagle the way the draft was falling.

Yeah that was the line i always used was he was my favorite wide receiver to come out in the last 5 years prior to that draft. Frankly if mccarthy figured out to get him the ball earlier this year his numbers would be even better. He’s gonna continue this tear as he has Carolina and Washington the next two games. He’s gonna torch them

I’d be surprised if he fell that far in waivers. I think he gets claimed way before that by a team that’s out of the playoffs or fringe playoff team

I dont really know who Jack Jones is. If he is so talented what did he do to get released? Must have been bad.

Well besides getting arrested in college for burglary, getting arrested in the Pro's for bringing two loaded guns onto an airplane, getting suspended while on IR for being late to rehab sessions, being late to curfew multiple times and moping on the sidelines during games he's been everything you could want out of a 4th round pick last year.

Oh my

I don’t watch college football much anymore, but like you, I absolutely loved Lamb coming out and couldn’t believe there were so many other receivers that people seemed to like more. It didn’t compute in my mind. And I was ticked that he went to the Cowboys.

But what I found funny after that draft was Eagles fans arguing that "Howie should have done something” to stop the Cowboys from getting him, that he made a grave error by not forcing the Falcons to trade with us. Y’know, as if Howie had the power to force other teams to do what we want. Like he could do some sort of Vito Corleone/Luca Brasí move and hold a gun to their heads to get Them to do what he wants. He should have traded his second (which if he did we wouldn’t have been able to get Hurts) to the Falcons!

As if by getting Lamb, the Cowboys wouldn’t have been able to pick someone else who would help them. For almost a year that was a common refrain, that Howie should have moved up.

Granted, we would all probably love it if Lamb were an Eagle. He’s pretty freaking good. But imagine if we had Lamb instead of Reagor but also didn’t have Hurts, and meanwhile the Cowboys picked Jefferson instead. Ugh.

Frankly i disliked that the eagles after they didn’t move up (fine if you didn’t want to pay the cost) didn’t move back from where they were with Jefferson on the board. There were plenty of teams that wanted Jefferson (New England and niners) I’d have traded back to get more picks for a team that needed an infusion of talent. Didn’t believe they maximized the value of the pick. However I also didn’t love reagor enough that if they missed on him I’d have been upset. Feel like the eagles did or thought he wouldn’t be there if they moved back and they needed a speed threat.

I really don't like this matchup.  I think Mahomes is about to shred our secondary.

Chiefs 38, Eagles - 29

Bonus: Mahomes 350+ passing yards

This guy never learns.  Being an A-hole is more or less why he got fired in Philly.

He's not a coordinator.   He needs someplace where he can be the unquestioned and unchallenged authority figure.  He would be better off as a high school coach someplace.  Or maybe a pop-warner football coach, where he can legitimately be the smartest guy in the room and never have anybody question his authority.

I was more pissed that the Cowboys got CeeDee Lamb rather than pissed the Eagles didn't get him. I've been very vocal during the draft season about players I love and who I would hate to see go to our rivals.

Take Micah Parsons for instance. I know the argument is that the Cowboys don't trade with the Eagles because they knew the Eagles wanted DeVonta, but making that trade handed Micah Parsons to the Cowboys. I'm thrilled with DeVonta Smith and hope he's an Eagle for a long time, but part of me hates the fact that the Eagles could have said F you Dallas, we're taking Micah.

I don't have too many draft crushes yet this year. Brock Bowers, Jared Verse, Kam Kinchens, Javon Bullard, Leonard Taylor, Mini Ax Man, Jer'Zhan Newton, Tyler Nubin, Marvin Harrison Jr (no chance in hell), JT Tuimoloau are just a few of the guys I really like. Out of those players, besides Harrison, Brock Bowers is the player I'd hate to see go to an NFCE team. I'm sure my list will grow as the season ends and testing begins.

Three words:

Jeremiah Trotter Junior.

That's all I want.  If I have to go see the Axeman's son wearing a Cowboys uniform I will go insane.

Do we have a Time Machine that takes me back to when he was good?

Vildor gone should mean Roby is ok.

Piersbacher probably doesn't mean anything besides replacing Good-Jones who was poached last week.
