Can't wait for the "We have faith in our LBs. VanS stepped up. Dean is back. Bradley is back. We feel good about the guys in that room" when we inevitably don't touch LB once again.

I could see ownership wanting trotter jr

Read a little trivia today.  Dick Butkus scored a total of 10pts in his career.  I'll put the breakdown into a spoiler so you history nerds can have a go at it before checking.

Spoiler

Dick had one recovered fumble for a td, a safety, and two extra points on receptions from botched extra point snaps.

mini. definitely shorter, lighter, worse jumper.

But the best attribute of McCaffrey is the agility,  the great 3 cone,  and Covey has numbers with the agility and speed that are about the same.

It seems to me that much of what McCaffrey does is outside runs quickly, often from pitches, often from Purdy under center and McCaffrey at tailback. The Eagles could have Covey doing that same stuff.

I doubt it.  McCaffery is a great RB who has been one since his freshman year in HS.  Covey cannot do what McCaffery does.  He'd miss holes, follow wrong blocks and get hit hard and often in ways he never has.

Should Kelce decide to hang em up, how would people feel if we drafted a center at some point and left Jurgens at RG?

I prefer Jurgens at center.  Steen at RG and draft a RT to learn behind Lane for a year or two.  If Steen isn't the guy at RG, sign an RG and draft another in a couple of years.  Gotta get the next RT soon.

Thursday Morning Predictions Update

23 predictions recorded thus far.  20 for an Eagles win and 3 for a Cardinals win.  The Average Predicted Score is Eagles 31 Cardinals 20, which is very close to the Eagles -10.5 vs. Cardinals line put up by Las Vegas.

As always, please tag your prediction post with @mattwill that way I will be sure to see/record it.  Score predictions can also have an optional "Bonus Pick" tiebreaker prediction.  So far over the course of the season 141 different EMB posters have made at least one prediction.

A list of the predictions is presented below, sorted alphabetically by the name of the predictor.  If you don't see your name there, then I either missed yours or you haven't submitted one yet.

Complaining about drafting good players. The draft is hard enough.

The Eagles should have picked Parsons over Smith, but that doesn't make Smith a bad pick either.

The players taken immediately after Davis
- Hamilton: Hit for the Ravens. Hamilton would have been bad under Gannon last year in the CJGJ role. Unironically, he would be good for Patricia given how he uses Sydney Brown.
- Green: Bust
- Dotson: Hit
- Zion Johnson: Bust
- Burks: Bust
- Penning: Bust
- Pickett: Bust
- McDuffie: Home Run
- Walker: TBD
- Elam: Bust
- Tyler Smith: Home Run

I’d be surprised if steen isn’t a starter at some point. Whether he’s earned it or not is another story. But the eagles didn’t take a OL in the third round to be a solid backup. I view it like seumalo. He really didn’t start consistently til year 3. They have stoutland and he could develop/find quality backups in later rounds and undrafted. So I’m guessing whenever kelce retires, steen is likely going to be their starting RG with jurgens moving to center.

The Eagles never could have had Parsons unless they never traded back with Miami out of the 6th spot. The only reason Dallas traded back with Philly is they knew Philly was drafting Smith and not Parsons. If there was any chance Philly was taking Parsons, Dallas stands pat.

I got zero issues with Davis first off having Davis and Carter is going to carry us for year to be able to draft elsewhere. Both these young’s guys are just burnt out a little from being young and overuse

Brandon Lee Gotwon has had the weirdest obsession of defending Brian Johnson at all costs this season and shielding him from getting any blame at all.  It's very odd.

Dallas traded out in the first place because they wanted Horn or Surtain. Dallas was not that in love with Parsons during the draft process as they would have passed on him.

Jurgens was drafted as Kelce’s replacement. His size and speed make him more of a natural center. I loved Zack Zinter from Michigan as their future guard before his leg injury.  He reminds me of Landon Dickerson.  Maybe use one of the second round picks for him and keep Steen as a swing tackle and possibly Johnson’s replacement.

I started Com Sci but decided I wanted to party so switch to IST so I could coast to honors and get the same job as the Com Sci nerds.

I agree and I hope Steen is good.  A year plus of learning the RG position hopefully gets him to being pretty good on his way to being great.  Teammates say his feet and athleticism are excellent.  More strength to take on DTs and we could have a really good RG.

Dumb question.  Do you only look at total points to determine your winner?  Like if last week I guess Eagles 58-0 and someone guesses 33-24, I win?

Cool.  2 receptions from the slot.  Only one route to the middle of the field of his 4 receptions.   Not to say he didn't have more routes to the middle, but I'd pound the middle with he and Brown from the slot.

It looks like he is always receiving the ball really late after his break too, if you look at where the green portion of the line starts.

I remember all the pre-draft talk about converting Mike Parson from LB to DE… wait… actually I don’t.  DAL wasn’t even thinking in these terms, but they do value LBs.

They also are relatively green when it comes to technique.  That will change and evolve.  Their technique will both strengthen and diversify as the seasons progress.

I calculate the difference between the Eagles' score and the prediction, then calculate the difference between the opponent's score and the prediction, and then add those two numbers together.  If you guessed 58-0 in the Seahawks game the respective calculations would be 58-17 equals 41, 20-0 equals 20, and 41 + 20 equals 61.

In other un-shocking news, Deebo Samuel looks like a complete clown for calling out Cam Newton for "texting my phone", when it was actually some young kids pranking him.

Dude has some serious main character syndrome.

Especially for someone who hasn't actually won anything yet.
