Yea, the jerseys looked perfect wet. But as they got darker from the rain, it became more obvious how wrong the helmet is.

Why is Nike so bad at what they're supposed to do?

Yup, the helmet was ridiculously wrong.

Not just that. Look at the WR working for Flacco. Look at Flacco using the entire pocket and bailing when he needs to, all with his eyes downfield.

I'm not pining for Joe Flacco. He is managing the offense. Jalen Hurts is a better QB than Flacco and if Flacco had to play the Eagles schedule, he would get burned at the stake -- in games and by the fan base. Chris Long knows football and weeks ago, he pointed out that the Eagles scheme on both sides of the ball was pathetic and easy to defend against. Whereas Andy Reid is all scheme and doesn't value WRs, he believes he can scheme them open, the Eagles brain trust values WR talent at the expense of scheme, like there is no reason to scheme players open or make things easy for the QB because they are so talented. It's equally mind numbing.

Here’s what AI thinks Joe Flacco would look like as an Eagle

Yep, things get skewed a bit situationally.

Exactly.

The Eagles struggle on first and second down, which creates a stream of 3rd and long situations. Much different than last year.

If Ward was WR3 on this team he’d have better numbers than Quez and OZ, let alone Julio.

To be fair, there’s not a single NFL team that wants Ward on their roster.  So he’s pretty bad too.

Jets should shitcan that whole staff and front office after watching what Flacco is doing. They had him in the building but instead decided to flush the season down the toilet for Zach Wilson and Trevor Siemian.

One reason. Alex Van Pelt vs. Brian Johnson

And they run the ball consistently with the running backs

Helluva game Arizona versus Oklahoma

Back to back picks by Arizona defense

Crazy game

Edit: First one was recorded as a fumble deflection

Arizona is actually really good since they made the switch to fafita. If they didn’t start JDL and just started fafita all year they likely would’ve been playing in a new years 6 bowl game. Lost 2 overtime games (JDL threw 4 picks in one and the other was fafita’s first starter ever at usc) and gave Washington everything they could handle.

also Oklahoma had their starting Qb go in the transfer portal. Then again Arizona is not playing Jordan Morgan

yeah, it seems very similar to that. and it's not like the Eagles aren't going to the playoffs.

If you have star QB,  star WR1, star WR2 and star TE,  any generic pass play from star QB to those other 3 stars will have a decent expected value, and if you dial up star 2 star passing often enough,  you'll get enough points to win if the defense is good enough.

It could be discouragingly boring football, so much so that fans would turn away,  but it should still work. star throwing pass to star will work. It has worked.   It could leave you with tired and fatigued stars when the playoffs start. It could leave you with not enough to win the Super Bowl.  Star 2 star will get you to the playoffs, it has.  But when you have to beat playoff level teams for consecutive weeks,  it's really best to have more than a generic presentation of star QB throwing to 3 star receivers.

The Eagles have a lot of players who have top athleticism and potential positional versatility,  they have players with top athleticism who aren't getting snaps at their own position.  I like Tyree Jackson, he's gone, I'd want him back if he became available,  but he was replaced by Albert O, and there is a good measurables based rationale for that. Why aren't we seeing Albert O?   6'6 258 4.49 - that's really good, that'll win matchups, that's fast enough for WR.

It seems to me that they're pretty big believers in pecking order, which, over the course of years rarely deviates.  "Sure, Howie, great,  yup, I can see that,  4.49 and 258, but, really now,  the order is Goedert, Stoll, Calcaterra, and we don't throw passes to any but Goedert.   4 of the 6 players are on the field almost always.  No other team does that.  Did it work? Well,  the Eagles started 10-1 and they're going to the playoffs again.

The Eagles have SO MUCH high RAS versatile freakbeast that they can roll out in the playoffs and get the thing they're trying to get out of them.   Last draft was Versatile High RAS Georgia Bulldogs defense. Carter, 1st, probable future DROY, Smith 1st, Ringo 4th.  Add Brown 3rd and VanSumeren UDFA and you have 5 players all great measurables,  all quite possibly starters next year, all with positional versatility,  having all played offense.   The offense, even the stars, doesn't have athletes like this. The throw and catch stars don't have quite top level measurables.   Doesn't keep them from being stars.  And those measurables of the top passing stars are quite good,  but they're not the super potent measurables the defense, overall, across the board has.

The defense has more potent measurables than even the stars have.   You can get bigger plays out of players with more potent measurables.

Nolan Smith  and Ben VanSumeren are built like AJ Brown. They're also built like big running backs,  fullbacks.   But compare the versatile defenders with Brown.  VanSumeren set a single season regular season catching record in Michigan, he was player of the year in Michigan, as a WR.

Brown v VanSumeren

Smith is biggest and fastest, with the least experience on offense, then VanSumeren, then Brown.

compare Albert Ok and Brown.

Wow.  Bold bonus prediction.  Feels like the Eagles haven't won the turnover battle in forever.
