Why can't our OL do this? Is that right side, Jamal Jackson, Max Jean-Gilles and Jon-Runyan? Kelce, Jurgens and Lane are 10x the athletes those guys were and we can't block anything like this. Should be a staple of this offense with super athletic lineman across the board.

I think they have run one RB screen like this and it's the one Gainwell tipped into an interception.

One of the things I miss most about the Andy Reid offense was the screen passes to the running backs. We were one of the best, if not the best at running those screens.
Now they can’t even make it occasionally functional. Well, at least the WR screens work… for the opposing team.

Maybe they were saying Brown is a #2, and the PA thought they were ranking him at #2.  As Jack Lemmon said, "A man is his job, and you are f***ed at yours!"

#1…what terrible silent announcing on an amazing Desean return.

#2.  This Eagles team sucks at setting up screens.  All of them.  Maybe it’s on coaches and practice; I don’t know.  Every time someone catches a screen pass, there are no blockers anywhere to be seen, no rushers have bit upfield and taken themselves out of the play…and the guy with the ball in his hands usually doesn’t have much vision to find a lane and take it.

When we see screens against us, there are blockers surrounding the ball carrier.  When we run it, the WR/RB/TE is ALONE…except for defenders and, if we are lucky, Devonta Smith.

The switch of coordinator’s doesn’t help, some guys won’t like Patricia, or his scheme, obviously it’s not his scheme totally but he’s trying to put Belichick’s touches on it by dropping Reddick into coverage like NE did with Jamie Collins when Patricia was there.
Why they hired someone that called offensive plays last season for New England, that previously coached a defense different from the defense Howie is married too makes no sense.

As for Sunday, the Eagles need to run the ball, Siri needs to tell Lurie that he’s activating Penny and they’re running to keep the Giants offense off the field because Taylor isn’t Devito, Taylor can make NFL throws.
Patricia needs to tell Howie tough sheet on the Fangio defense, if they rush more than 4, the corners are gonna have to be in press coverage, they can’t let Taylor (Sam Howell) them to death, that means Ricks or Ringo starts opposite Slay, Bradberry can go into the Safety rotation  and may stay there for the playoffs. I wouldn’t want Bradberry completely off the field, he still has better ball skills than Ringo or Rick’s.   Even if Ringo/Ricks play press, in zone, then Bradberry can cover over the top in zone on their WR.

I think it’s just too late to switch schemes completely. They’re pretty much stuck in no man’s land. Only option would be to take some chances with blitzing (not these delayed blitzes by guys that are pedestrian slow) and making the cornerbacks press in those situations. You need to force the issue in hopes that you can cause a turnover. If you’re giving up a TD anyway, might as well do it taking risks. Their bend but don’t break D isn’t working, even when the field is shortened in the red zone.

I think they can achieve more success on offense, there is still hope on that side of the ball. They need to run more consistently, avoid turnovers and be smarter situationally. I think that’s doable.
As far as the D goes, it’s more wishful thinking than belief.

Not exactly as ominous as "Winter is Coming"

28 points should always be enough to beat a top-3-drafting-team like the Arizona Cardinals. The playcalling at the end was bad, but that shouldn’t be the story of the offense as a whole. Our offense isn’t as good as last year but it’s still good. Our QB, our running game, our Oline, all of it a step down, but not suddenly bad. Playcalling can be improved majorly which will improve our offense as a whole, but that’s not why we’ve been having these letdowns. We were scoring on Arizona, we had Seattle beat until their majestic TD pass to end the game, we in all intents and purposes should have beaten NYG by way more than we did.

We’re not a perfect team, and expecting us to be so is unrealistic. But even with our faults, we should be scoring more than Nearly every opponent we face when you add all the pieces together. This is the primary problem that needs the most immediate correction: Worst 4th quarter scoring defense of the last 96 team instances. Wowza

Keep him off that turf, IMO. We should focus on the ground game anyway.

Sigh, how good we had it. From the player, the leadership, the DC who knew how to use him.

Imagine if THIS team could do a forward moving RB or TE screen at 50% competency of that team.  This O would be unreal.  And we have the F@#n personnel. It's right there. Are they man enough to take it? Makes me so mad I want to punch someone in the throat.  🤣

One thing I have been thinking about during the dark ages (aka the last month).  Idk if the change to Patricia helped us or hurt us as a defense.  The plays have been largely similar with an odd press coverage and totally ineffective blitz mixed in.

To me it seems like the players don't even know their responsibilities.  Like they are pointing this way and that way as the ball is being snapped.  Communication has been an issue.

Without Cunningham,  the second level of the defense has been horrible.  Tough cover for LB one on one with a RB or WR but we need someone who can be close enough and able to make a tackle.  Who the hell is that?  Idk if more Smith or Vansumeren would help but at least they have the physical ability.  Morrow didn't look as bad with Cunningham so maybe there is hope

That’s the difference to our D, we actually have the talent to be a lot better. It’s not out of the question that they can be better in the playoffs. There is a glimmer of hope there, just don’t think it will be enough to cover up the other side of the ball.

I think they envisioned Penny in the power back role, but he must not have shown much to them to be stuck on the bench.

Or, they have Penny 100% healthy for the playoffs.

Jeffery letting him go to Denver was utter BS. Yeah, he may have been declining but I still remember where I was and still remember thinking what a BS move. I don't care what Andy or Howie or anyone else said should happen....he never should have worn any other uniform.

Howie should as well. He should also how important MJ was the SB year. I'm not saying CJG was on their level but letting him walk regardless of what people say about not being able to afford him BEFORE JB was signed wasn't the right move. He should have gotten one more year, especially since they were letting all the LB go.

How i see things going at novacare facility this week
