and possibly Lane Johnson as well.

But on the bright side it's probably Quez Watkins' last game too.

Tend to think lane comes back. I think kelce is the only one that retires. Just think the eagles move on from graham. Cox is unknown. He’s actually played well this year. So maybe he’s back.

Shame on you guys for being negative. "Other teams would love to be in our position.”

Sadly on Monday good chance we are likely witnessing the last games for graham, Cox and kelce in an eagles uniform.

Yep.  Sad, but it's time to get younger.  Wish we could send these three out with a championship.

Butterfly effect.

A trusted source tells me that is why @greenddoesn't post here anymore too.

Just a note......

This team has been trending downhill ever since a certain group of posters on here were banned.

Happened right before the SB.

Just sayin......maybe coincidence?

Wait, Glazer said before the game that AJ Brown told him they need to "start believing in the coaches?”

Good God. It’s over.

Usually over when there’s any players only meetings. Most of the time it never works and too far gone to change anything. I feel like the only sport it works in is baseball cause it’s a long season there’s enough time to completely turn it around if you do it in like May and June. In Football usually by the time the meeting happens it’s too late and too far gone.

Yeah, especially when we have the talent to mitigate it, unfortunately coaching will fail this team once more.

Yup.  And the only way to purge this coaching staff is to be absolutely embarrassed on MNF in a playoff game by a bad team who barely won a terrible division.

Was listening to a nfl podcast, talked about the SF niners and Baltimore ravens defenses. Those defense have a bunch of guys at the peak of their primes. On the eagles defense, who would we say are in the peak of the primes? They have reddick  and sweat. That’s probably it. Everyone else is young and not there yet or old and exiting their primes.

The Ravens par excellence might be the best drafting team in the NFL, every level of their defense gets attention and their picks seem to land (a sign of competence in identifying scheme fits and more importantly the ability to develop those players); all while being a consistently good team with modest draft resources.

SF is good, but I think they benefit from having a constant stream of additional draft capital generated by the minority HC hires and a lot of cap flexibility due to the cheap QBs.  I guess in addition to maybe being the best Xs and Os guy, Shanahan has survived the brain drain so far as well.

Interesting observation!

Anybody remember an Eagles collapse this bad?  There was one in (94?), but that wasn't like this.  This was the defending NFC champion that went from 10-1 to probably losing a road playoff game in the wild card round.

1981 was similar.  I think they started 7-1 and ended with 6 losses and a loss in the wildcard round.  I went back recently and watched the game they lost to DAL to go to 7-2; some scrub dropped a sure TD pass -- one of the worst drops you'll ever see, and the team imploded from there.

You want to see a simplistic offense, watch that game.  The entire offense was run Wilbert and slant to Harold Carmichael -- which, for some reason, Jaworski kept overthrowing 6'8" Harold.  I still can't imagine why the Eagles wouldn't have replaced Jaworski in the 1983 draft.

F it

@mattwill

Tampa: 38

Eagles: 10

Bonus: Mike Evans and Chris Godwin both finish with 100+ yards

Bonus Bonus: Rachaad White with 125+ all purpose yards

Bonus Bonus Bonus: Schmoopie will have me hog tied by the 2nd quarter to prevent me from breaking dry January.

If we can't blame the mods,  how about Edwin?

Better to fire a year to early then a year too late

The extra capital for SF as helped. Done a good job with developing coaches and also using comp pick formula to their advantage. They traded for young likely going to just get that pick back when he leaves in free agency but it’ll be a 2025 pick. The niners have done a good job drafting and developing their own guys and adding some from the outside. They drafted guys like Werner (3rd), greenlaw (5th), Armstead (1st), bosa (1st), ja’yair brown (3rd), lenoire (5th). Then went to free agency and got guys who have hit like hargrave, Gipson, ward.

The Mets last year are the best I can think of, but it's not like they were any good to begin with.

2007 Mets.  Literally a historic collapse losing 12 of their last 17 games and missing the playoffs after having a big lead on the Phillies for the division.

Maybe not Cox.  I feel like he's in late career Jason Peters mode.

I mean look I am no Mariota fan but if he was back as the back up next year (on less money) then I wouldn't really care. I know we have this obsession with the back up QB in Philly but I don't care too much who the back up is. If the starter gets hurt long term then pretty much every team in the league is done as a contender.
