The coaches will all be fired.  The defense is going to be completely gutted and rebuilt.  There is no point even discussing either one.

Howie will still be the GM and Jalen will still be the $250m franchise qb.  Let’s talk about them.

What a player and what a guy. He deserved to go out on a high not the trash that this team put up the last couple of months.

We knew it was coming but this makes me very sad.

So I think the biggest indictment of this team was this week....you KNEW Tampa was going to blitz.  You had time to prepare......and they came out with a game plan that looked like they never heard of the word blitz before.  Nope, fire 'em all.

Yep - F Sirianni and the rest of the coaching staff for that putrid performance being the best they could give Jason for his last game.

Honestly i don’t think this helps sirianni in trying to keep his job. I doubt it caught that locker room by surprise that kelce was retiring. So everyone knew it could be his last game and they came out with that garbage effort.

Stoutland can stay if the next HC wants him. The rest of the staff can jump off the Betsy Ross Bridge. They are not worthy to use either the Ben Franklin or Walt Whitman. What a turd-fest that staff is!

If Sirianni survives this, the offense will likely be so much worse with Kelce retiring.

So the biggest thing to talk about with Jalen is whether the lack of motion, hot routes, under center plays and passes over the middle are him or the playcaller. Surely it’s a bit of both, but how much?

Unfortunately these aren’t things we will get the answer to, although it did leak from somewhere that Hurts wasn’t happy with the offense, particularly the short to middle passing game and passes over the middle.

The Eagles will now have a hole at RG, and it was to presumably be filled by a third round rookie who was so bad they made him inactive down the stretch.

Made a bold prediction a couple weeks ago that they were gonna regress even more in 2024 and and likely either miss the playoffs or be like the 7 seed. I think even with a change of head coach, the eagles basically managed to reach the 2020 eagles but managed to do it in one year after a SB appearance. They were 1-7 down the stretch with an -82 point differential. They aren’t good and i don’t think the defense is gonna be completely fixed this offseason and i suspect with better coaching on offense they won’t look completely inept but i also just don’t think theyll reach 2022 heights either.

Davis has not been impressive for 2 seasons now.  His rookie season, he did not play much and low expectations for a rookie.  In his 2nd year, he has not shown much either.  Thie defense values attacks and making plays, more than eating block.  Remember Hargrave, he was a block eater with the Steelers, but he got free to rush when he joined the team.  Made a name for himself and then signed as FA to 49ers and they are looking strong.  Parting way with Davis would be fine.

His Ohio teammate, Dean, may fall in the similar situation.  He is hurt now and not much a factor as a MIKE.  Not high on him to become an everydown MIKE given the injury history.  At least they need to look to draft someone more physical and durable to fill the void.

Carter, another Ohio player, showed something as a rookie.  He may turn out to be good based on what he has shown so far.  His continuous development will determine his value to the defense.  The DL is getting old and not much depth.  Carter, if developed, he could be the core piece of the DL.

I will say that without Dean the defense really stunk it up.  It wasn't a top shelf D with him, but it wasn't PeeWee league like it has been for the past 2 months.

I would have said at pick 22 they could draft a OT that can play guard until lane retires but with how many holes they have and needs on defense that they have I’m not sure you can go that route.

Kelce not playing will be a blow, but getting a new and better RG will help a lot.

He is being converted.  If they left him at tackle I think he could be a good replacement for Johnson soon.

In no way am I defending Watkins, but his strength is the deep ball yet they still insist on giving him WR screens and 3 yard route trees. It's maddening what the coaches do with the players on this team.

It's not his strength, he doesn't have one

Is there a position on this team that we can legitimately say they don't have a need?

Maybe Howie trades down a few times...

Another potential Howie draft bust.

Opeta is also a FA. Welp.

One of the biggest concerns going forward with Hurts is his teammates stopped caring about him. A week ago when Okereke jumped over the line pre-snap on a tush push and kinda shoved Hurts, no reaction from his teammates. Last night, Lavonte David gave him a helmet hit while sliding. Again, no reaction from his teammates. It feels like he lost the locker room as much as Nick did which is even worse since he’s the $250M QB

My biggest concern with Hurts is his personality / leadership style.

People may think I'm making a mountain out of a molehill, but the defeatist language he used regarding his finger injury before the game was indicative of a bigger problem.

I'm sure he's highly frustrated, not only at the play calling and coaching, but also having some untimely injuries the last couple of years. But, you have to handle that better as a leader.

There has been some smoke throughout the season and reports of management talking to him about his body language, etc.

This is a real thing. We know he will put in the work as a player, but he better put in equally as much work on the leadership / communication side.

Lurie wont fire himself or his lap dog howie but thats where the rot starts ...

Of course he won't. but more people need to be pushing Lurie on Howie's performance. His mid season trades on the whole stink, the bias against the LB and S positions is almost criminal and the bad contracts to over 30 players keep getting given out.  It's easy to hire new coaches and start the whole merry-go-round again, but at some point Jeff and Howie as the power couple need a lot more scrutiny.

I didn’t think Kelce would announce this soon, regardless of which way he was gonna go. My most beloved Eagle of all time, truly a sad day for this team and this city. As if this day could have felt any worse for Eagle fans.

Sad to see Kelce retire, but very much understandable.  His long term health is far more important than staying for one more year to chase another ring; the man was a complete titan on the field.

Much respect to him and good luck to the TV studios when he lands there.  He's gonna be gold

You know. For there being so many older people on this board, it sure does feel like the instant gratification generation has infected this place. I acknowledge that you said potential but geez, it feels like every rookie has to hit the ground running and every year has to be a Super Bowl year or deep playoff run for people not to be immediately fired into the sun these days.

In a lot of ways I almost feel like the Super Bowl win in 2018 and then the loss last year ruined the fanbase.
