I just updated my Snaps worksheet and it once again graphically showed the one major beef I have with the Eagles this season.  Consistently, they are not rotating their snaps anywhere near as much as they did last year.  Reddick and Sweat and Cox are getting more snaps than I would like.  I'm concerned that there is going to be more wear and tear on their bodies late in the season and during the Playoffs.

An interesting comparison would be to see what Desai did at the Bears with rotation of the DL. Small sample size either way, but it may be a schematic thing or a symptom of a lack of productivity at DE and injuries at DT

Oh and.  Happy Thanksgiving y'all

Fingers crossed for a max effort through the DAL game, and then 3 weeks of reduced snaps followed by a bye for Reddick/Sweat/Fletch.

Happy Thanksgiving all. What's our ideal scenario today? Are we actually cheering on Dallas?

Yay, more Philly media members making it about themselves! What a piss poor attitude about how he does his own job.

Happy Thanksgiving, hope all you Turkeys get stuffed!  Although might have totally different meaning for @hputenis

The Eagles Need this to happen to gain a nice lead in the NFC EAST and NFC on Thanksgiving

Packers Win (Knock the Lions down a notch)

Commanders Win (This would take them to 5-6 and in the Wild Card hunt shockingly, knock Dallas down to 7-4)

Seattle Win (This one is interesting because they would be in the Lead in the NFC West and be tied with San Fran at 7-4)

Obviously most people will be picking Lions, Dallas and San Fran but there's always upsets on Thanksgiving.

I’d rather cheer on Aids

NFL head coaching candidates for 2024: Ben Johnson, Brian Johnson and 12 others to watch

Brian Johnson, offensive coordinator, Philadelphia Eagles

The former Utah quarterback helped Jalen Hurts develop into a top-flight QB while serving as his Eagles position coach. Now in his first season as offensive coordinator, Johnson has Philly’s offense ranked among the top three in the league in yards and points.

PLEASE

Not a fan of his play calls after the first drive which is scripted of course. On another plus we would get (2) 3rd round picks if he was hired as a HC. Hate that rule but Ill take it.

NFL created a monster giving him all that money

Best way to build an MVP case for anyone is to show what a guy does playing against the Panthers.

If they’re upset about that, they would need psychological therapy if they had to cover Bill Belichick.

If I put myself in Hurts' position, this comes off as an insulting passive-aggressive question.  It implies that I'm still a novice at certain aspects of QB play and I should be watching how other professionals do it so that I can learn something.

Pretty sharp answer on Hurts' part.  If I'm in that position the answer is probably "No", or "Not as much as they watch me"

How TF is Johnson a head coaching candidate and Desai is not?  Desai has this defense playing at a high level, and he’s done it with less talent than Gannon.

Johnson calls a terrible game.  He’s not even close to Steichen.

@mattwill

picked against the birds last game, so never change a winning pick:

Eagles 24

Bills 27

Bonus: After reading various ideas in the blog, Sirianni „promotes" Mailata to fullback to run out the clock. Jordan fumbles, ball is scooped up by a Bills defender, who returns it for the winning score…

I like the way Snrub thinks!

Me too.  Smith will need to get some snaps at some point. Cox will need to rest up a little but not sure Reddick will - he'll want some more sacks, esp against that Gints OL.  Fill his boots before a new contract

No. Packers, Commies, and Hawks.

What possible reason would we have to pull for Dallas today?

Ideal outcome is Detroit loss, Dallas loss, SF loss.

It's Dallas and Detroit day. Lions actually  deserve the day this year I guess.

I think the real reason our DT rotation is a bit out of whack is because we're not getting much out of our ends. Obviously Sweat is good but Graham seems almost cooked and Barnett has been a dud. So the need to use DTs outside on occasion is inflating their snaps.

Happy thanksgiving everyone

Isn't that a good thing?  Wouldn't we rather not get poached on defense again, and would we really be super sad if Johnson was scooped up (and garnered us 2 third round picks in the process)?

Oh... and Happy Thanksgiving, you nutballs!   🦃

Go Pack, Go Skins and Go Hawks.

Johnson isn't using Hurts in the RPO on a regular basis, which was a big part of Steichen's offense.

Take that away, and the OL has been exposed to some extent.

Johnson has helped Hurts transition to becoming a true pocket QB, he scrambles less than Mahomes, for example. Learning to sit in the pocket and make plays is a key part of his development - it would help if they had a TE, a slot WR, and a dependable screen game to give him quick throw options against the blitz. That will probably be an off season priority (TE2, WR3 and working on the short passing game and blitz pickup, better blocking RB?).
