Dallas 45

Birds 21

Dallas doesn’t punt after the first quarter as long as Dak remains in the game.

Painful to watch Halliburton excel when we could have had him for simmons

It is... but then look at Maxey at point guard and tell me that Maxey would be doing what he is doing if Halliburton were here.    Interesting paradox.

Besides... this way lead to the return of RoCo!

Just suffered through a few hour flight with little do to but peruse Eagles articles.  Just wanted to post my bottom line thoughts.

This really isn't a complicated or enigmatic team.  We've figured out the 2023 Eagles.  They have a great but inconsistent offense and a bad defense.  That's it.  Nothing else to say.

In the 2023 competitive landscape, they aren't beating SF unless SF falls way off their current level of play (which certainly could happen).  On a day when our offense clicks and the opposing offense combines just enough misfires with our defense making a few surprising plays, we can beat anyone else.  With the inconsistencies of the offense, however, we can also lose to anyone else on the wrong day.

But it's very simple.  Great and inconsistent offense.  bad defense.

Ok.  Thanks everybody.

@Connecticut Eagle you can shut this one down now.

I don't get releasing Ellis at all. There's other guys who provided far less value to the team. Albert O? Penny?

Fine, but I absolutely disagree with the notion that the Eagles are virtually certain to win the strength of victory tiebreak with the Lions. I’ve done the math and it looks close when you estimate what final records might be. Possibly in Detroit’s favor, especially if our loss is to Dallas. Every little win by the Giants, Commanders, and Patriots would help.

 https://www.espn.com/nfl/playoffs/machine

Let them do the math.

I read somewhere that the top schools in NIL have about $20M to play with. I’m not sure if that’s for all sports or just the football program. You never know if an ultra rich donor would step up to the plate and offer $5M to help retain Harrison. Regardless, Will Anderson as the third pick signed a guaranteed contract for $35M. Harrison would be turning down something similar to that and then have to wait an extra year to sign a contract that could be worth $35M per year if he’s the real deal. It just doesn’t make any sense to stay.

Now where I think it makes sense is for  RBs to stay for their senior years or to hit the portal and to collect good paychecks in college rather than go be a fourth-round pick in the NFL. Etienne and Henderson could make a good chunk of change in NIL, then get drafted in a similar range. They aren’t gambling like Harrison because they aren’t getting the potential second contract as him.

Still pretty stupid because while he can make 30 million now, it delays him another year from his second NFL contract which is where the real big money will be.

If the only thing that matters to him is money... then I suppose you are right.   But, there are other things of value in this world.  He has to decide what is more valuable to him.

But, when you are talking about the kind of money this kid is very likely to end up getting... is there really a difference between $240M lifetime earnings and $270M?    He can make up the difference in endorsements, or in good investments.  I'm sure he'll find a way to scrape by.

Some might say that the Eagles have figured out Nick Bosa.   I didn't hear his name in this last game, or the one last season.    Does he still play for SF?   I thought he was on the crapper, not on the field taking a crap.

I mean he's right that the Eagles probably need a fullback. I don't really agree with who he suggests, but again. That was SF's whole plan. They lead blocked to the edge and attacked the weakness between the corners on the ground and LBs. All game. Literally that's all they did. They didn't even try to throw near the corners. They ignored them. Brock didn't throw deep. He didn't play NFL QB. They spend the entire game attacking one specific aspect of the defense, in exactly the same way the Eagles should because the Eagles with a lead blocker of some kind would be BETTER at it.

So while I don't really agree with the personnel suggested, I do think the Eagles need to think about lead blockers besides Kelce. It's time to run more than one honestly.

I have less issue with the fullback/big back idea. However the get tyree jackson back is not happening. He is on the crap giants with Waller is out and he’s done nothing. Cause he is what he is a fringe roster player. Then saying Nolan smith should just be taught how to be a Rb when he’s a DE and having trouble adjusting to that role is laughable. Also the whole premise because vansumeren was good in Hs as a fullback means he’ll be great at it in the nfl. Just cause you did something in Hs at a high level doesn’t mean he is just "more advanced than the normal fullback” nor that he would even be good at it at the nfl level. He had 9 carries, 5 games in 1 year at Michigan at FB then he went LB. So he hasn’t done it in nearly 4 years. If Michigan or Michigan state thought he was going to be more advanced then the normal fullback then they’d likely had kept him there and he would’ve continued doing it. There’s plenty of kids in HS who put up good numbers at one position but that doesn’t mean they are just automatically more advanced at the position at the nfl level.

Steelers burning more timeouts is always good. Somewhere bacarty is punching a kid in the parking lot.

tomlin punting when it was 4th and 3 with 1 timeout and 5 mins is a pretty dope decision to begin with.

hey,  maybe there will be an injury.  hey,  maybe he should practice throwing to guys not named Brown, Smith or Goedert.   You lose 1/3d of your passing offense if you never practice with the other 5-10 guys who can catch passes who are on the roster.

I like Tyree Jackson.  They replaced him with Albert O. Who has caught zero passes.  Sure,  Tyree Jackson I guess would have gotten zero targets,  but Tyree Jackson is more versatile, theoretically,  on a team that uses more than 3 pass catchers.

The Eagles seem to be totally Fed if one of the 2 WRs gets hurt.   I mean,  they could put those other WRs on the field, throw to them, and get themselves out of the position where they would be really Fed if Brown or Smith were out, but I guess they'd rather be Fed in that situation.

It's a failure of coaching, planning, designs and lack of reps with the other guys with the QB. Even with a guy down there's enough talent on this offense to cause havoc. They are using too much analytics or something and not enough creativity to get guys open and targeted when the basics aren't working. Unacceptable really. When they aren't running the ball that makes things even harder unnecessarily. this is on Siri IMO.

Why’d you throw the ball 40 yards downfield on a 4th & 2?

Just being aggressive, enough said.

Unimpeachable logic.

If "Un-" is a prefix meaning 'not'....

and "im-" is a prefix meaning 'not'....

and a double negative produces a positive...

Then if follows that what you really mean is that it is "peachable" logic?  🤔

Is there also pearable logic?  Appleable logic?  Which fruits have logic consequences?

what a terrible idea that would be

I don’t even need to go back to previous pages to make a guess at who you’re responding to

Good morning.  ☀️

@mattwill

Going to hope the Eagles adjust their game planning, play much better than they did against the 49ers and come out on fire with this prediction (if not, toss this prediction out the window)

That said, I think it will be a close game:

Eagles: 28

Cowboys: 27

Bonus: Dallas (Goedert) scores a TD in Dallas.

@mattwill

Eagles 31

Cowboys 23

Prescott 2+ turnovers

we could play Jason kelce at rb and Lb cause he did it in high school. So clearly he’d be more advanced
