Wait. The Jets were surprised he took the offer they offered? So they just lowballed him and he said ok?

Wouldn't you if you got to play with a future presidential candidate?

Ok I love the Barkley deal

I was annoyed he devalued certain positions and I think it cost us. Based on reports I also thought he was the reason for Patricia.

I like the White (potential) and love the Barkley signings. I personally think he is having a good offseason this year. Last year was bad and I think he was told that too.

Did Barkley sign twice? 🤣

Which we could move from pick 120 to 90 and give up a 5th and a later pick.

So now two additional kids to recoup the cost for a guy you want to never play? That has shown next to nothing as a starter?

Well, I probably would have just rolled with McKee as the backup, but I prefer this to tying up cap space on another Mariota like backup. Pickett has shown me nothing, but I guess it is a cheap option on him discovering his first round talent. Not going to lose a ton of sleep over it. If Hurts goes down, we are screwed anyway. I prefer this to spending 8 million or whatever on Flacco.

@we_gotta_believe I agree on Howell, but skeptical Washington would trade him to us.

You kinda had it right, you said the White and Barkley signings, but liked one and loved the other.

Yeah obviously they weren't trading Howell to us short of us overpaying to significantly beat the Seattle offer which was already much more than we paid for Pickett.

Washington got picks 78 and 152 for a total of 230.6 points on the draft value chart. Seattle got picks 102 and 179 for 111.8 points.

-Washington gains 118.8 points which is the equivalent of a late 3rd round pick

Pittsburgh got pick 98 and two future 7th round picks (most 7th round picks are only worth 1 point and that is for the current year) for a total of 110 points. The Eagles got back pick 120 for a total of 54 points.

-Pittsburgh gains 56 points which is the equivalent of a late 4th round pick

Sorry man. I understood what you meant. I'm just plastered and being ridiculous.

Truth is, I hope Barkely breaks records as an Eagle. And has a Lombardi to hoist. While Tiki melts like the wicked witch

Today is the 20th anniversary from the day the Eagles traded for TO.

I remember that day like it was yesterday.

My PS2 Madden franchise was never the same.

All good man. It gave me a laugh

Signing Jevon Kearse and Terrell Owens basically at the same time might not ever get topped. Maybe because of all the previous NFCCG losses but that moment brought the most excitement I’ve ever felt in an offseason.

I watched it like 2 days after the loss against the Bucs in wildcard round to cope

I remember where I was and the drama getting to that point. I also remember us taking over the stadium in Dallas. I was in the end zone just in front of where TO scored on the long scramble/ pass to him.

The funniest thing was going up the stairs to the concession stand and seeing a security guy giving a bunch of crap to Eagles fans.  Someone yanked him into the middle of them and he disappeared. Ton of security people flew past me on the way to rescue him 😂

Kenny Pickett is the Vince Young addition to Dream Team 2.0.

I'm not saying that Pickett is great, but the outrage seems silly. He's a young, cost controlled backup in a much better situation and with a better coaching staff. Chances are if Hurts went down for the season we would be screwed regardless of who the backup is. At least he's young and still has some room to improve.

Vince Young was rookie of the year and former 3rd overall pick and all time great college QB. Stupid stupid comparison.

I could use a different kind of happy ending from @Godfather

Eagles have been fairly successful in the 4th round I feel like. Avonte & Sweat immediately come to mind. Driscoll was decent depth for his career. McPhearson & Wallace weren’t much but had some ST value. Ringo looks promising. Mack Hollins made some plays the SB season.

Only one that looks like a clear whiff to me is Shareef Miller

McPhearson is a forgotten player at this point. The Eagles seem to still think he has something to offer. Good thing about his injury is that it was so early he should have no problem diving in day 1 to compete again.

Not only does he actually say the tweet aloud, but he credits its retweet popularity to his finger on the Cowboys’ pulse. The video perfectly hovers between troll job and "this guy really doesn’t know”

”I tweeted All In My Ass. Obviously aimed at Jerry.”

Yep. They had FOUR 7th round picks in 2025 so giving up two of those was a big fat nothing burger. They moved down from 98 to 120, got a good backup QB, and saved 7-8 million based on the going rate for a backup QB in free agency. With Pickett's reputation as a first round pick and the Eagles ability to rehabilitate young QB's there is also a possibility they could flip him in a year or two for better assets than they gave up. There is nothing not to like about this move other than the dummies out there who think a Mariota is better than Pickett AND would prefer a Mariota and 8 less million in cap space.

I've come around after my initial reaction of trading a 3rd round pick but like you said, they only dropped 22 slots and we all know Howie can maneuver and get back in the 3rd (or at least I hope he does).

I think we need to be careful at assuming the Eagles can and will develop any QB that steps in to the NovaCare though. That ability left several coaching staffs ago. I don't think this current staff, much of who is new now, has shown any ability to develop QBs.

Between DP and Sirianni, we've had Carson Wentz, Nick Foles, Nate Sudfeld, Chase Daniel, Josh McCown, Gardner Minshew, Tanner McKee and Marcus Mariota.

The only QB they were able to get anything out of was Carson Wentz and that was a magic act pulled by Howie after he crashed and burned here.

We all love Nick Foles, but aside from his heroic moments and his 27-2 season, Foles hasn't been good. Daniel, Minshew and McCown are all your run of the mill back up QBs, none of which were drafted or developed here. Mariota was a head scratcher signing and did nothing. They have so much faith in McKee, they traded for Kenny Pickett. 2024 is HUGE for Jalen Hurts because IMO, as good as he was in 2022, 2023 was a regression year.

QB Factory no more.

We also need to be careful with our claims of the Eagles having the best OL in the NFL. The best line in the NFL lost the best Center in the NFL and now has two huge question marks at Center and RG. There's plenty of excitement about Saquon running behind this OL, but we still don't know how they will perform.
