How many Howie's?

Howie couldn't dream up of drafting like this, I mean that in a good way. There's also zero percent chance of Kinchens and Cooper being there at those selections

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

I guess it’s how you view it.  Pretty sure, he’ll be fine.

Not suggesting he won't. Just curious if what he is saying is the same he told the Eagles months ago or whatever Dom found out about the situation. If its conflicting, then it could become an issue.

I think I'm settling to the conclusion Goedert is one of the most overrated players to this fanbase. I certainly would consider bringing in some actual competition in the mid rounds.

Welcome to the club.

Guys, @bpac55 has been waiting three years for this day.

Probably true. Even when they said to Eagles they said 'expected'. Much less certain than the others.  Similar to what Nussmeier report said but people ran with it more

Yep, what probably happened was he got recommended to Fangio by Hurtt. Fangio and Scott had a conversation, and it was along the lines of yep, will wait for the new HC hire and if I'm not wanted in Seattle (which would be the expectation as most HCs will bring in their own staff), then I'd be very excited to join the Eagles.

He's the most misused player on the roster but, to your point, it doesn't help he tends to get injured quite a bit.

Goedert's value is catching the ball in the intermediate area of the field.  Why Sirianni and Johnson decided he was a TE screen guy and short range target, I have no idea.  Completely counterintuitive to what he's best at.  He was almost 15 yards per catch in 2021 and even last year was almost 13.  Combine 13.8 ypc with a 76.5% catch rate over the two years -- that's excellent stuff.

Nobody holds more than the Niners CBs, but there's a purpose to what he's doing.

I get the sinking feeling, as lucky as SF was to get past both GB and DET, they'll end up winning the Super Bowl.  Had the same feeling about the Bucs

I thought for sure the spread would start shifting towards the chiefs. But the line has gone more in the favor of SF. Have a similar feeling you do. I rather see KC win than SF. I can’t stand the niners players and fan base. I at least respect mahomes and reid being all timers. The niners just cry and start crap when they begin losing.

Anyone fill me in on how the tight end class looks this year? Goedert is 29 going on 30 and has missed 4+ games 3 of the last 4 years. 2025 might be his last year here as his cap number jumps to 23.8 mil in 2026 and cutting him would save $17.9 mil ($5.9 dead money) and he’d be 31 at that point. Seems like it could be a year they invest in a tight end

I thought it was a low-key need last year and becomes more apparent with each passing year that they don't have another receiving tight end that Jalen likes to throw to. I think they might have been betting on Tyree Jackson being that guy and when that didn't happen they had no backup plan. But they definitely need to find a viable TE2. People will probably disagree, with all of the needs on defense, but I could see them using a 2nd round pick on one if the right guy is there.

I was hoping for him as QB coach.

Look man, betting on things is fun.  It sounds to me like you just don't like fun or fun people.

I'll bet you he does

Doesn't matter when Mahomes is the QB.  You're on a hiding to nothing

@ManuManu Just showing why I've thought Goedert has been overrated. I've never said that he isn't good or that he isn't an important part of the team and as of recent, he's been horribly misused. However, for all of the top 5 talk, I think Goedert has been and still is overrated by many.

2019- 15 games: Goedert tied7 other TE 5 to finish 5th. 6 tight ends had more TDs. 9th in yardage for TE. Zach Ertz was still on the team.

2020-  11 games: Tied with 12 other TE with 3 to finish 8th. 21 tight ends had more TDs. He was 16th in yardage.

2021-  15 games: Tied with 8 other TE with 4 to finish 6th. 13 TE had more TDs. He was 5th in the league in yardage. This was his best year with 56 catches for 830 yards and 4 TDs.

2022-  12 games: Tied with 10 other TE with 3 to finish 7th. 21 tight ends had more TDs. 7th in yards.

2023-  14 game: Tied with 9 other TE with 3 to finish 5th. 18 TDs had more TDs. 14th in yards.

It's important to note that he's never played a full 17 game season and the Eagles lack of investment at TE2 has shown in those games. There is a drop when Goedert is out and that's due to the fact that he is a good player. Give him all the credit for battling back from a broken arm this year. Watching the playoffs was eye opening in how other teams use their TE but also how other teams use TE1 and TE2. They need a TE2 who can come in and be a weapon, not just a JAG blocker.

Trey Knox, AJ Barner, Dallin Holker, Jaheim Bell, Ben Sinnott, Ja'Tavion Sanders are all guys I have my eyes on.

So I go off line for a few hours and I see AJ Brown causes a ish storm.

The way kuminga landed on it I’m guessing he hyperextended the knee. Whatever else happened to the ligaments i am unsure. The fact they are still talking to multiple doctors tells me it’s far worse than just a hyperextension
