I think I'm settling to the conclusion Goedert is one of the most overrated players to this fanbase. I certainly would consider bringing in some actual competition in the mid rounds.

He's Avonte's BFF. We can't move on from him.

Hurts' days are numbered.

But I'd rather have Penix (who sounds like he's been overvalued by draft websites) if he falls in to round 2. or almost anyone but Rattler.

You don't have good judgement on QBs since you fell for Carson Strong.

@ManuManu Just showing why I've thought Goedert has been overrated. I've never said that he isn't good or that he isn't an important part of the team and as of recent, he's been horribly misused. However, for all of the top 5 talk, I think Goedert has been and still is overrated by many.

2019- 15 games: Goedert tied7 other TE 5 to finish 5th. 6 tight ends had more TDs. 9th in yardage for TE. Zach Ertz was still on the team.

2020-  11 games: Tied with 12 other TE with 3 to finish 8th. 21 tight ends had more TDs. He was 16th in yardage.

2021-  15 games: Tied with 8 other TE with 4 to finish 6th. 13 TE had more TDs. He was 5th in the league in yardage. This was his best year with 56 catches for 830 yards and 4 TDs.

2022-  12 games: Tied with 10 other TE with 3 to finish 7th. 21 tight ends had more TDs. 7th in yards.

2023-  14 game: Tied with 9 other TE with 3 to finish 5th. 18 TDs had more TDs. 14th in yards.

It's important to note that he's never played a full 17 game season and the Eagles lack of investment at TE2 has shown in those games. There is a drop when Goedert is out and that's due to the fact that he is a good player. Give him all the credit for battling back from a broken arm this year. Watching the playoffs was eye opening in how other teams use their TE but also how other teams use TE1 and TE2. They need a TE2 who can come in and be a weapon, not just a JAG blocker.

Trey Knox, AJ Barner, Dallin Holker, Jaheim Bell, Ben Sinnott, Ja'Tavion Sanders are all guys I have my eyes on.

I know. We’ve had this conversation for three years. No need to rehash it for a 12th time.

Now there is a team that is in very bad position at QB.  Going to end up giving someone like Minshew a big deal or trade for someone like Kyler Murray.

If Staley doesn't get the Miami job, I wonder if he comes to the Eagles on Fangio's staff,

Easily the most overrated eagle currently on the team. He's decent, bit he's nothing special. Maybe that's because this coaching staff, but the fact of it is he's never had a statistically great season and he's always, always hurt.

Easily the most replaceable offensive starter

Miami certainly doesn't seem to be in a rush to hire him

No Goedert is a great player. His talent and ability is special. His only downfall, and it's a big one, is that he just can't stay healthy.  When you know a guy is going to end up missing 3+ weeks a season then then that kinda hurts you and makes you cautious on how much you really utilize him.  But he's a great blocker on top of being a great receiver at TE.

Due to the inquires though they likely will look to add a TE on the first two days of the draft.  He's the same age that Ertz was when they drafted Goedert.

God i hope not he was awful for the Chargers

Guys, @bpac55 has been waiting three years for this day.

We could agree with him, but then we’d all be wrong

Anyone fill me in on how the tight end class looks this year? Goedert is 29 going on 30 and has missed 4+ games 3 of the last 4 years. 2025 might be his last year here as his cap number jumps to 23.8 mil in 2026 and cutting him would save $17.9 mil ($5.9 dead money) and he’d be 31 at that point. Seems like it could be a year they invest in a tight end

To be fair, the guy broke his arm on purpose. I can't argue with the logic otherwise, but this year wasn't being injury prone or anything - the other guy literally fell with all his body weight on his arm while holding it at full extension.

Mayfield not doing so well to start it off.

23 points for Mayfield.  Heated up a bit there.Looks like Stroud is up next.

Stroud takes the lead with 26 points.  I bet Jalen hits that 10 point bonus target at the end.

Embiid torn meniscus. Great. Way to have him out there last game med staff and Nurse.

Reverse nepotism

In fairness i don’t think anyone is trying to get hurt. He also didn’t plan on getting his facemask yanked in 2022 and it leading to him being out for a month.

Time to turn into sellers at deadline. Keep Maxey and unload to build for the future. Embiid won’t be back until next year and even then he’s going to start declining soon. They are awful without Embiid so this season is lost.
