Looking like QB's will go 1-4,with Marvin Harrison at 5,moves alot of excellent players down to us. Knowing Howie I still think its a lineman. I still have powers as the 22 pick(IOL Oregon). Some like Verse from FL st(edge)

Mock with explanations 1-22 Powers-Johnson-IOL-Oregon Top OG in this draft. I know it's odd to do this, but you will fix the RG position immediately and for long term. He has played 4/5 O line positions,so the versatility is also a plus. An exceptional O lineman like this doesn't come around too often. I usually say OG's are plentiful(which they are) but instead of tossing up FA's to see what sticks, this is a move that ensure that spot can be checked off for many years. 2-50- Payton Wilson-LB-NC St. .It's time for Howie to get over his issues and draft young defensive talent. This kid is just a beast(thanks for pointing him out to me Ham). Non stop motor and a very hard hitter. Also excellent in short yardage pass coverages. He's fast and a LB blitz can now be part of the Eagles play book. 2-53-Javon Bullard-S-Georgia. Tough player, quick reaction skills and quick to the ball. An excellent youth injection at an annual position of need. 4-120-Malik Washington-WR-Virginia. They could also go with Luke McCaffrey(Rice) here. I would be fine with either selection, but we need production from the slot and either of them would be a nice youthful injection. IDK how Parker will be used in this offense, but we need a young player we can bring along to be the future slot. I also like Ainias Smith(TX A&M) who was absent from the combine,so he could be the pick here also, but round 4 seems perfect for a WR addition. 5-161-Nehemiah Pritchett(see video)- CB Auburn IMO if he falls this far he is a steal. 5-171-Brevan Spann-Ford-TE Minnesota. Still in search of TE2 and this kid has serious potential. Needs additional coaching, but the skills are there. 5-172-Joe Milton-QB-Tennessee-Another QB to compete with McKee for the 3. If he pans out, then you can lose Pickett the following year as one of those 2 QB's steps up into the 2 with the other being the 3. No more FA "used" QB's 6-120-Cory Schrader-RB-Missouri- Love this kids attitude. never quits on any play,TOUGH runner. he will pound you with NP. he is rough and needs better coaching, but this kid will be a solid player somewhere. Not a 3 down Starter or anything, but he would fit fine in our RBBC approach. I know we have Bark now,but Cory could be a nice RB and he has time to work and get better for us. We don;t need to rush him in,he can work and improve to an eventual player in the RBBC

Ok.... my first chime in on drafts since nothing is going on except a camp body being signed yesterday and Reddick playing chicken with the contract.

1.  The Oregon OL has been the name I've heard the most...so I don't think it's odd.   They are thin at OL, Lane isn't going to be around forever and nothing is guaranteed at C or RG.

2.   Why draft a QB?  You have your cheap backups here for at least 2 more years.... 3 with McKee.    Pickett was a first round pick that we have for peanuts... no need to go there.

3.  We have Blankenship and CJGJ at S.  Why is it a " position of need"  at thr moment?

4.  The TE2, I agree with... wouldn't surprise me if he gets drafted in round 2.

5.  No DL at all on your mock?  This is a mock for the Eagles?  Without DL?   What do you think the chances of that are?

After watching this,I want to know who the WR is,he is always open

2) To keep the QB factory flowing. If they emerge for you, they are trade bait at the worst. Need competition for the 3,no sense just handing out the job. Round 5 is not a terrible place to make an investment. It's not going to kill your draft 3) Competition for Blank-may the best man win with the loser as a still solid BU if one goes down 4) Too high for him. If we pick a TE in round 2 there are better ones there. 5) We only have so many picks and we're very good at snagging UDFA's

We need the DL players we already drafted to step up their game

In another mock I had Newton-DL at 22 for us,so pick your poison

Didn’t we just invest a 3rd round pick in Sydney Brown at S? I thought he flashed a ton as a rookie especially with how terrible that side of the ball was and the mid season coaching change at DC.

Ok... 1.  We traded down from 98 to 120 and gave up 2 late picks for Pickett.  Now you want to invest another pick ( a 3rd one)  for " competition at the #3 QB?"

I've heard you say that you want McKie in there over Hurts because you trust him more in the pocket.  You wanted McKie as the true backup last year over Mariota.   Now you invested multiple assets in Pickett ( who is locked up for at least 2 more years) and we need to invest more because the guy you said was better in the pocket than Hurts and should have been #2 ....now he needs competition to be the #3????  We need to throw more picks there?

2.  Yes we need the younger DL to step up.   We also lose Graham,Sweat and Milton is a free agent next year.   Compare that to having 3 QBs already on the roster...yet QB is a pick but not one DL?

3. Yes picking a better TE is the option I'm talking about.  One injury to Goedert and you see how it how it changed things for the offense.  Now we also lost our blocker in Stoll.   Would say TE 2 is way more priority than " competition for Blank" ... especially from a rookie perspective it seems much easier for a TE than a S to step in.   Plus long term we have Sydney Brown... draft is for long term... the TE absolutely seems more critical at this point when you look long term.

And all honesty...I can't see how you have it possible to take DL at 22, yet not take one later ?

On a random side note it is insane that Sam Darnold is only 26 years old and this is how 7th season. Think he turns 27 in June

We have rookies going to be drafted that are 23-24 years old

Look at the LSU QB he is 23 turns 24 during the season in year 1 Darnold is only 2-3 years older with 6 more years of nfl experience

Pretty nice talent on the back 7 in this draft, why not get one while you can?

Definitely think we should add CB or two that position needs infusion of youth and talent…I wouldn’t say I’d pass on a S if they fell to us but also wouldn’t be a priority for me either.

I really like Blank again though Brown flashed a ton as a rookie then CJ is going to be a starter why we paid him and all are 26 or younger

1) Pickett is the 2,where else would the competition be except for #3???? You keep saying :just get me the best players" yet when I lay it out it's not good enough. Like to see you post a mock. A round FIVE QB is something you need to worry about?? I'm not selecting one in round 2 here and he is the LAST round 5 pick. yes I liked what I saw from McKee,but it was so limited there is no real reason to know unless he gets into a real game during the season which is unlikely. Maybe Milton is better and one goes away? Or both work out and we have a trade piece??? But with the last 5 pick it's not worth the risk??? Please post a mock covering all picks not just "I like this guy". I'd like to see it. 2) whatever 3) Why can't we get a TE AND a slot WR? Is there some rule bout that? Again post your mock. Where do you take a D lineman. If you do that's fine but you're giving up talent in the back 7 and this is a great draft for that.A round 5 DL is going to make an impact? No different that a round 5 QB,except that QB's are worth more in a trade if they work out. Tell me where "later" is for your D line pick. How much later? GOod CB,S and LB class here,it's a good time to grab a couple. Find more DL guys in FA if that suits you

Reminder-covid put some college players back a year and thats why you are seeing "older" draft picks

23-24 is a norm for lot of draft picks not necessarily a bad thing it was more of just how crazy it is Darnold isn’t that much older then some guys going into his 7th season in the NFL

Slay looked like he is losing a step,he did at the end of the year. Now whether that was part of the collapse or he is getting old remains to be seen. He's not going to last forever and if he is losing a step he may need replaced. Not hoping that happens, but we need to be prepared

Yet no success in the league after all those years of experience.

I mean jets and panthers weren’t all that great of teams let’s be honest lol…. Really no excuse for him if he can’t make Minnesota work though with those weapons
