November 11, 20241 yr Outside of couple sacks and the two turnovers Hurts played a good game lots of good passes from him…. Had quite a few runs I thought he did perfectly. Just again if we play a clean game we will be in the mix to beat anyone… not sure we get away with it against the playoff caliber teams though

Second half he’s been a huge reason for the turnaround. Ultimately Hurts was due a turnover (or 2). If he can do it in the games we still end up winning handily then fine.

Hurts 103 pass attempts in 5 games ... 20.6 per game. Eagles score 147 points... 29.4 per game defense... Maddox at nickel CB... defense gives up 96 points in 4 games... 24 per game DeJean at Nickel CB ... defense gives up 65 points in 5 games... 13 per game
November 11, 20241 yr Re-watched WITHOUT the emotion…Hurts HAS to read things quicker. Two of the sacks were stupid and all on him. Major negative plays. Luckily the cowpies had ZERO offense. Hurts did have a fantastic mid to deep throw to Brown. Liked his decision to get to Barkley on a checkdown. He needs to do it MORE OFTEN TO AVOID UNNECESSARY SACKS! Please! QM, rookie CB is a BALLER! He continues to impress. Ditto Dejean. Kellen Moore, find a way to get Smith more opportunities? And where are the screen passes to Barkley? whats the story with Jordan Davis? Baun, MVP of the team halfway through the season. Not that it matters MUCH, but Kenny Pickett is better than McGee? In practice?

Eagles score 86 points ... 21.5 per game Last 5 games ... 96 carries ... 19.2 per game... Eagles score 147 points ... 29.4 per game I would argue... Barkley getting 0.95 more carries per game... isn't as important as Hurts throwing 12.4 less times per game. " You gotta give your best player the ball"... agree, but a whopping one more carry a game hasn't made the difference. Shifting the style to game managing and taking less decision making out of the QB's hands has been huge for this team. The proof is there. The bye came at a great time for the Eagles. Team first, stop trying to make any one player an all time great, and just letting the team naturally do what it does best on offense... and swapping in a physical player that can do everything defensively for a liability like Maddox... absolutely huge. Both things have had a huge effect on the rest what we are able to do both offensively and defensively.

Dejean is a very good football player. I hope he continues to develop well. So far he has been very good. I do worry that the winning streak is a mirage of playing bad teams….that the Eagles are a very average team still. Thoughts?

Thoughts? one more run to Barkley ... the key is not having Hurts pass so much and take away the decisions he has to make. You pointed out what happened today when the first guy wasn't open and he looks like a deer in the headlights. actually having to scan the field like an NFL QB. He is great with the first guy being open near the sideline. No thinking, just throw.

Come on now.... 33 carries in the last 5 games... 6.6 per game That eats into more of Hurts pass attempts than Barkley did. You gotta involve the backup RBs. And lets be honest... forget the blowout games.... lets take away Tampa, NYG, Cincy and today ... .just compare the first 3 games that were close and Cleveland and Jax ... First 3 games Gainwell carries it... 1,2 and 0 times ...the 2 close games after the bye he carries it 3 and 5 times ... you gotta involve him more. Not much... but at 4 to 6 carries a game when timed perfectly to keep Barkley fresh and Hurts from having to throw. That's 5 less times Hurts has to make a decision... 5 less times he could get hit or turn the ball over. 5 more times our OL can beat up their DL.

The Eagles have had a very average team the last 3 seasons... and the league has probably had the worst 3 year stretch of quality football.... especially the opponents the Eagles have faced.... barring the stretch last year when everyone thinks it's a " collapse" Lets be honest... the main reason for the team success the last 2.5 years... the lack of quality opponents. They got hit with KC, Buffalo, SF and Dallas... etc... less rest, more travel... AJ hurt... was all a perfect storm of actual real competition. WE will get Pittsburgh and Baltimore... some think Washington is good, I think they have been lucky, on top of their schedule. Do I think it's a mirage???? Who in the league impresses you? KC is favored to 3 peat... do they look like an all time dynasty to you? It's the state of the league. It's not a mirage that we are probably a top 6 team in the league.... just that the league is bad.
