He holds the ball waiting for his ONE READ to get open when he should be finding optional others. I'm tired of trying to show Ham this, the blinders he has on are welded to his head. That being said, when the 1 read IS open Hurts can make some gorgeous throws. My mind blows up when I think of the untapped potential Hurts has and doesn't use

Luckily the cowpies had ZERO offense. Hurts did have a fantastic mid to deep throw to Brown. Liked his decision to get to Barkley on a checkdown. He needs to do it MORE OFTEN TO AVOID UNNECESSARY SACKS! Please! QM, rookie CB is a BALLER! He continues to impress. Ditto Dejean. Kellen Moore, find a way to get Smith more opportunities? And where are the screen passes to Barkley? whats the story with Jordan Davis? Baun, MVP of the team halfway through the season. Not that it matters MUCH, but Kenny Pickett is better than McGee? In practice? I would judge a few things tonight as not being normal. I wanted them to use Bark less, let other guys do some lifting(and they did). Baun looks great,DeJean is going to be awesome. Remember the kid missed many weeks and started out behind the 8 ball, what terrific "nose to the grindstone" from him. He had his nose in Comp screens alot of the game learning. Just a tremendous kid with a serious future. Nice find by 123 and a super sweet move by Howie in round 2. I really wasn't expecting the point total we put up,I just wanted an easy coast win to save our guys for Thursday
November 11, 20241 yr Author I may not say this right, but it seems to me Hurts HAS to make mistakes before his brain actually gets in the game. It seems to happen nearly every game. It doesn't even need to be picks of fumbles, just something needs to go badly before he starts to play like he should. Maybe no one else sees this and I could be alone. Hurts the "game manager" is working much better for this team. I'm happy we saved ourselves for Thursday. A nice impressive win will put us in the drivers seat with a long week off so Hurts can run the streets of Philly in his new Beemer 😀

AJ hurt... was all a perfect storm of actual real competition.  WE will get Pittsburgh and Baltimore... some think Washington is good, I think they have been lucky, on top of their schedule.  Do I think it's a mirage????  Who in the league impresses you?  KC is favored to 3 peat... do they look like an all time dynasty to you?  It's the state of the league.  It's not a mirage that we are probably a top 6 team in the league.... just that the league is bad.  The league has reached parity as was intended long ago. Took time to get here, but the Pats will be the last "dynasty" and those wins were bigly on Brady and Gronk and some nice clutch slot guys they had. SOOOOO many injuries this year it seems, especially to WR's and DB's. They have these kids wound tight coming out of college
November 11, 20241 yr Author I want to also argue that "the age of the RB is dead,it's a passing league" but we can see time and again where the RB's are the impact players on the teams. That and how the TE position has evolved since I played back in the stone age( Shannon Sharpe,Gonzo,Gates,Olsen, and the latest being Gronk). The early TE's were exceptions to the rule. Once teams saw how they could impact the game they actually started training players to be TE's. When I played it was "well he isn't big enough to be a RB(which I started out as) or fast enough to be a WR,but he should play somewhere, so we'll stick him at TE" .It took many years before TE's were actually a position sought after in the draft. Now they are almost a must have position if you want a full compliment of receivers, I was happy tonight that we got Goedert involved, but not in a way that would put him at risk. he WILL be needed Thursday, then a "mini" bye and hopefully we will be healed up for the stretch run. Nice to see some of our hurt WR's back and contributing. Well thought out game plan. It didn't hurt that Rush was trash. I really expected more from him. if they are smart(which they aren't) they would make Lance the 2. He is at least their future #2 even if they grab a new starter. Dak sucks, even my Dullaz buddy admits it now. The dream is over for themÂ
November 11, 20241 yr What about the D the past few weeks? Since Week 6, the Eagles rank 1st in the NFL in total defense (214.5 ypg), passing defense (141.0 ypg), rushing defense (73.5 ypg), defensive points allowed per game (11.0), and sacks (16). I'm loving it!

What’s really impressive with and they showed this yesterday was that the DL has now started to play a little wider yet still shut down the run. I think that wider formation is helping the DEs to rush the passer without us getting gashed in the run game.

That, plus getting good LB play to help fill gaps and shut down the run. Dean is finally coming up and Baun is a beast! Too bad Baun's first name isn't James. Baun, James Baun LOL

November 11, 20241 yr Author Wuss without their starting RB but Eckler did a nice job for them even in the loss. It's a nice tandem and we need to shut it down. IDK if their stud RB will be available Thursday or not

November 11, 20241 yr Author https://thedraftnetwork.com/2024/07/30/luke-lachey-scouting-report-nfl-draft#google_vignette Round 2 late or early 3 would be my guess. I hate to say it,but Goedert is costly for missing games. Calcaterra has probably shown well enough to at least be TE2. So how about trading Goedert, drafting this kid and let them battle for the 1/2(or rotate as needed). You know we lost Ertz in the middle of the night.I mean at the end of this season. We could use the savings to snag a decent FA LB to pair with Baun who I hope we sign longer. What say you birdheads? Doing this would bolster our D even more while securing a 12 personnel package(provided both stay healthy of course) They don't use him much at Iowa, but we just happened to draft a kid last year who would know all about him 🙂
