January 13, 20251 yr 1 hour ago, joemas6 said: Yeah, it is interesting with firing McCarthy after blocking him from talking to the Bears?  And he can't even talk to guys like Spags, Glenn ...etc.  He missed his window. UNLESS he does what AZ did and tampers..... wonder if he does that and you can blame Howie for that if he gets one of those coaches? I'm sure you could blame Howie for that in your mind. So naive you are the only one that hasn’t understood tampering has been standard operating procedure for all NFL teams.
January 13, 20251 yr Cousins came out in a press conference and admitted the tampering with the Falcons. Several teams were involved in negotiating for Cousins services that lost out to the Falcons. There were six or so teams that got involved with him. Â
January 13, 20251 yr First hours of legally signing players has been a landslide of news about signings. All the bidding and negotiations were done with a contract agreed upon within an hour…a day? No way. That’s why the league changed the rules. The NFL created some plausible deniability to cover for the fact all the teams weren’t following these rules. ‘Tampering’….was just standard NFL business practice.

You are not allowed to talk to playoff coaches after the window.  Last week everyone was available.  Arizona messed up that is why we got a draft pick.  We lost Frank Reich ... but Indy waited and did it legally.  They spoke to McDaniel legally BEFORE the deadline... and waited after the window to talk to Reich.  This is procedure teams have followed.  It is NOT Howie's fault that Arizona tampered.  Just like Hurts did not take a friendly deal nor did he convince Tennessee not to pay AJ.  Not did Howie do anything wrong tampering with Barkley.  There are procedures that need to be followed.... technicalities that anal guys always know.  If you had to put Howie in a category of the jock or the anal nerd ... he falls into the anal nerd category. That's why player decision is his weakness, and every other business detail is his strength.

January 13, 20251 yr Reports were that Jerruh was in negotiations with keeping McCarthy. So it is very interesting to ponder what took place. That Jerruh wanted to keep McCarthy was just dumb. But what fell through if they made it to negotiating? Money, power…? Seems very strange. Release him or keep him….but negotiating then parting ways is very odd. Odd in such a good way coming from an Eagles fan.

Several teams were  in the running for Cousins. Supposedly like six diffeeent teams. ATL won out! All exclusively during illegal tampering periods.

Ham... put away the Ham TMZ theory mentality for a second. There are black and white rules...  There is a time frame where you can make contact with an individual... a player or a coach.  Agents... do not fall into this category.   Arizona... spoke directly with Gannon.   Atlanta spoke directly with Cousins.... the Eagles did not speak directly with Barkley.   Is it really that difficult to comprehend?  Â
