Keep Ertz in to block….me likey that matchup for us.

Daniels gets the ball out fast, that could burn us for a nice day by Ertz. Always liked Ertz, should be a little "KMA" game for him after shipping him off while he was asleep

Week 16 in Washington: 24/39, 258 yards, 5 TDs, 2 INTs, 99.1 rating; 9 rushes, 81 yards

But yet it was somehow because Jalen Hurts didn’t play that we lost this game? Not because our defense was awful.

If the defense plays like this again going to be a tough game for us to win can’t let Daniels shred us

I think it hurts the young QB to force a silent count. Hit him mentally, get under his skin, get him flustered. He is still young in the league. We DO have some trouble covering TE's anyhow. Kroft was a big PITA and Ertz has experience

We need ball control with the running game. Keep Daniels off the field. IDK what the TOP was in those games. Obviously home field helps(thanks Detroit)

Honestly the best defense against JD and the Commanders is going to be ball control and eat clock keep him on the sideline as much as possible…. RUN THE BALL

Well the contain or flush part? Whole key getting at is finishing.

For me, I start out looking to win the matchups on the DL first and foremost... not so much worried about flush or contain until I see how it unfolds.

The main thing for me is  I want to put in the QB's head ... " hey Jayden, you have to hurry here and make a quick decision"   That is what I want to establish along with putting the fear of God in their back up RG over having to block Carter.   Which then also leads to " Hey Jayden I need to make a quick decision"      But not only that, then the first adjustment should be Washington being forced to use a skill position player to double team Carter.

Then once we get Daniels and Washington to show their cards, how they react to the mismatch... that's when we decide " contain or flush"   I'm not looking to throw a shutout, not looking to prevent Washington from getting a first down.   I want to get Daniels and the offense uncomfortable.  Avoid the plays where he feels like he will have all day to throw... or a huge gap in the middle of the field to run.

Flush, contain... right or left,   all that other minor adjustment stuff is absolutely important... but it comes secondary to the main goal of establishing the mismatches on the line and the QB thinking he has to speed up the clock on each play.

Though again the Jalen Hurt knee has to be a concern we can’t expect the read option runs to be successful if Hurts isn’t a threat to pull and run.

If Hurts can’t run or is limited to run we have to adjust go more under C being in that FB we are calling up. Go more traditional with it

The injury report shows Hurts questionable with a wrist. makes no mention of leg issues? Very odd(or smoke and mirrors)

Just interesting note on JD apparently he uses virtual reality simulation to get extra mental reps. Put in all the information he can about the defenses and plays the sim at 2x speed.

Not the same as real game but still pretty interesting idea that seems to be working well for him.

Try my dollar defense()LOL) Well it's not MINE per se HAHA

That's personnel.... for me, I'm more focused on what they do, not so much who they are.   But... wouldn't mind sending in DBs to rush Daniel either

We're not averse to putting other QB's in.at times. It's how Hurts started and NO used 2 at times. Just sayin

CGJ ejection was the huge factor in the numbers Ham is boasting about.   you have to understand the motivation... always the subliminal agenda " I called Daniels "   We all have 12 years of that to look forward to.

Due to the egg shortage the NFL has banned the quarterbacks from scrambling

Calc is BU TE?????? With this O line he has a decent shot at picking it up Why would he not?? How about giving Shipley something to do? Whatever it takes to keep Hurts from getting injured even more

So biggest game….holdup….second biggest game in sports here….and you are going to work on teaching the backup TE or third string RB taking a snap under C in The Brotherly Shove? The play that keys on firing off the line the quickest? Now….if it hasn’t been a short term one week at a time approach. They’ve been having this, whomever, taking snaps under C working on this play for awhile? Then sure. Sounding potentially  if it’s a forced one week install….no thanks. But I thought you said backups QBs were just as good at it as Hurts. So thought you actually believed that…and would advocate Pickett coming in to be that guy.

If Pickett didn’t have broken ribs wouldn’t be the worse thing sure Tanner would be fine at it as well…. Really Hurts isn’t the reason the play is successful

He has the best leg press on the team???? That increases the odds of success

You lifted weights before I’m assuming. When considering The Brotherly Shove I’d think his powerful legs driving would be a main asset.

This week I’m not real happy Ertz is still getting open so well. We know he’ll catch it. I’ve really done nothing but wish him well. He was a little bit of a Primma Donna…but Goedert forced him out. Not going to act all like Ertz was some cancer or anything because we were forcing him out. But this week? F Ertz!

Yes....from Dickerson, Mailata

What alternative do YOU suggest? Assuming my BU QB is in for my starter WHY would I risk him also? Please tell me you are smarter than this

O line and push from behind. The O line positioning is key,not the body being shoved

LMAO back to the theoretical? OK WHICH team are you game planning for in the SB while you ignore the wuss? Just ridiculously stupid to ignore THIS WEEKS GAME rather than admit you are wrong
