You don't think that some of these young players will play past 2028?  With that said, they will get extended and then be on the cap a couple more years after they retire. I'm sure a few will have dead money in 2033.Â
April 5, 20242 yr Been trying to explain for years why it's good business with both the rolling cap and the fact the cap is going up a good amount each year. 5 million of dead money when the cap is 150 million isn't the same as when it's 250 million. Pushing that down the road is absolutely good business as it decreases the negative value.  Contracts with a high last year...like Reddick...absolutely bad business to have the player play on that #. It's similar to a franchise tag or a 5th year option.  Just dumb. Do you notice it's why the Eagles either extend or get rid of the player.... and they never use a tag.  Then look at a team like Dallas... they constantly do those things and never have cap space.Â
April 5, 20242 yr Dak signed contract in 2021 ... cap hit of $55 million Hurts signed contract in 2023... cap it = $13.5 million Dak will be a free agent...so Dallas will lose him or have to pay another monster contract with zero leverage Hurts locked in the next 2 years afterwards with less cap hit combined for 2025 & 2026 than Dak has this year ( 2024) Smith is the last player needed to be locked up... Dallas still has to pay Lamb and Parsons...in addition to a QB.

April 5, 20242 yr Saw another mock draft where LSU WR Brian Thomas fell past 22. I’d be stoked if he fell to us. No idea why I ever look at any mock drafts.

Always drop offs and tiers. Just like how I felt it was crucial to grab Jalen Carter where we did. I’ve heard it stated by many that most years teams only have a first round grade on twenty or less players.

April 5, 20242 yr You could clarify and say ....it feels like we can get an " elite" player at 22.  Good to me isn't anything special.  There should be good players well past 22.  The way you guys talk about college and the SEC,i imagine you can find more than 22 good players in that conference alone every draft?
