Because the blitz has arrived. But they weren’t open. As good as Goedert, AJ and Smitty are…somehow they were covered a bunch at the end of the season slide. Hmmmmm….you still haven’t figured out it was because we were so predictable in our playcalls. McCaffrey came on during one of our games and straight called out what play we were about to run. The defenders didn’t have to cover any intermediate parts of the route tree.

Predictable is fine if you EXECUTE the play. We took 4 downs to do it. The tush push saved our bacon many times over

RPO= run pass OPTION. Actually there are 2 plays on every play called RUN or pass OPTION. OPTION

Why did we need the tush push to get so many first downs? 3 downs was all bad play calling? And while I wasn't happy with them either alot of times, you have to execute sometime

The Brotherly Shove wasn’t just on fourth down.

So one could say his decision making also regressed

Predictable is terrible and death to an O.

Right because we couldn't get 10 yards in 3 downs, very sad

There are actually more than that. He can handoff to the RB to run…or run it himself.

I'm calling Travis Henry on a B gap. You know it's coming. SO??? If he executes you can't stop him. Refrigerator Perry from the 1. You know that's coming. The tush push was 1/2 our offense

So, 3 options and he can't get that right

We just aren’t going to see eye to eye on anything apparently. Predictable playcalling is a massive failure by the playcaller. Just basic fundamentals of football here to me.

Usually it's 2, pass or Hurts runs,or RB hand off or Hurts runs depending on the play called. And hurts held the ball way too long many times. You can blame a bad play call, but that play the ball should be out of his hands before I can read War and Peace

He runs the RPO fantastic. Again …no idea what you’re talking about here.

We rarely do. Even with mediocre play calling the talent on this team should have prevailed, but Hurts needs to get the ball to the playmakers

RUN, passing is something not in his vocabulary(aka ball hogging)

Mahomes runs because it's his LAST option not his second option

At any rate Hurts needs to become more of a passer. Howe spent alot to get him the tools or why have them??

My bad, it was all play calling lol which accounted for 4 PPG less than 2022. 10-1 was a total farce,Joe is right on that count

BTW Goedert was totally misused,I will give you that one

Yeah...he called a QB run.  The rest of the world knows its the play when it's empty backfield.  It's always been the play.

Play calling is the excuse when a dude needs help...which Hurts does as a passer.   He isn't one to change a play due to his mental IQ in the route vs coverage aspect...and certainly not grasping the concept that he can audible extra protection vs a blitz

Correct...he needs to become that guy...because he was never that guy yet.  💯 agree!

Sorry you didn't see it in 2022...but when option 1 is always there... or you throw up a jump ball....a fan like yourself can be fooled into thinking he was all that in 2022 when he wasn't.  But go watch some footage from 2022 and let me know what you see.

Haven’t even begun that list.

Imagine if you were a Dallas fan... they don't even have cap space for the paper or the pen needed to make that list.

It's a great time... The Sixers were playing well before the MVP of the league got hurt and missed about 30 games... now he is back as playoff time starts.

The Flyers have a rebuilding team of young players who weren't expected to do anything, and they are right there fighting for a playoff spot.

The Phillies just started, a team that has really connected with the fanbase the last 2 seasons.

Then the Eagles free agency /draft always peaks interest.

Only thing missing is one of the college basketball teams making a run in March Madness.

You're from where ...the middle of nowhere. Philly area we grew up playing all the 4 major sports, it's a just a different culture.  Probably why you do your races, not growing up in that culture you had to find something else.

Here the sports passion never really stops.  This right now...is always the best time of year...along with the fall when the Phillies are in a playoff run as thr other 3 sports get under way.

Whenever there is something for all 4 teams at once, it's a very fun time.  Probably similar to NY, Boston, Chicago etc.

Hey now, my little piece of heaven place….I wouldn’t want to live in a big city, although Boise is rapidly getting to be one. I played all THREE sports…football, baseball, basketball. No hockey here when I was young. Loved playing baseball and was a fan of Pete Rose, Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton Phillies’ team, but the sport is unwatchable for me as an adult. Same for the NBA. BIG Dr J fan as a kid. Alan Iverson was a thug. No thank you! So I simply lost interest in watching basketball. I’m sure it is different growing up in a town that has Pro teams from there….you connect with the teams more. Hell, I rarely got. to see the Eagles play as a kid as they were never on TV in the west. Having no pro teams here, we all have different teams we cheer for. Brothers are Steelers and Vikings fans respectively. Vikings fan grew up a Celtics fan…..vomit! Definitely different in that aspect. But everyone that knows me knows me as the diehard Eagles fan….so much so that they assume I’m FROM philly. Nope. Only been there thrice, all times were for Eagles games. Loved the visit. Would never live in a liberal city though. Have friends that are season ticket holders and live there. Good people.

What happened was the WR routes took too long to develop very consistently. Playcalling was always home run big play seeking.

So why doesn’t he read the defense PRE snap and audible OUT of all those long routes? He saw blitz over and over those last several games and NEVER adjusted? Thats on him AND the coaches! Horrible. Not just bad, but HORRIBLE! Incontrovertibly bad QB processing.
