I played all THREE sports…football, baseball, basketball. No hockey here when I was young. Loved playing baseball and was a fan of Pete Rose, Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton Phillies’ team, but the sport is unwatchable for me as an adult. Same for the NBA. BIG Dr J fan as a kid. Alan Iverson was a thug. No thank you! So I simply lost interest in watching basketball. I’m sure it is different growing up in a town that has Pro teams from there….you connect with the teams more. Hell, I rarely got. to see the Eagles play as a kid as they were never on TV in the west. Having no pro teams here, we all have different teams we cheer for. Brothers are Steelers and Vikings fans respectively. Vikings fan grew up a Celtics fan…..vomit! Definitely different in that aspect. But everyone that knows me knows me as the diehard Eagles fan….so much so that they assume I’m FROM philly. Nope. Only been there thrice, all times were for Eagles games. Loved the visit. Would never live in a liberal city though. Have friends that are season ticket holders and live there. Good people. I'm not into the sports as much myself as I was as a kid. Outside of the Philly teams I don't know much like before...except for football. Basketball is easier to follow because they market well. Baseball , I used to know all the lineups when I was a kid, not so much anymore. Hockey was awesome growing up, but even now I don't know half the Flyers, so I couldn't tell you much about the league. But being here there is the constant sports talk and following the local teams. It's always there on the news on the radio etc. Discussion with your friends and family etc. Right now is a very busy time. 3 teams are playing and the Eagles making moves. Fun time for sure. The boring time here is when the playoffs finish for the winter teams and just left with the Phillies still with 4 months to go and the Eagles have their down time. NOTHING is like during football season where we watch pretty much every play of the Eagles games... but we still follow the results of the other teams on a daily basis.
April 5, 20242 yr The last two Octobers with the Phillies playoff runs have been a lot of fun from a fan perspective. Nationally it's been a great story too. It's probably the team that's connected most with the local fanbase. You have individual players like Kelce but as a group the Phillies definitely have been the team that's captured the hearts of the fans. Eagles top priority, just not same connection with all the players.

April 5, 20242 yr 11 hours ago, GreenbleedinNC said: My bad, it was all play calling lol which accounted for 4 PPG less than 2022. 10-1 was a total farce,Joe is right on that count Which was a miracle by Hurts and the whole O…to overcome the coaches failure to adapt or adjust. But we brought Siri back still anyway.

Play calling is the excuse when a dude needs help...which Hurts does as a passer. He isn't one to change a play due to his mental IQ in the route vs coverage aspect...and certainly not grasping the concept that he can audible extra protection vs a blitz Coaches need to come up with answers and adapt. They never had any answers. But sure…QB should do their jobs for them too. Everybody on the planet knows a blitz is coming yet….playcall has a long developing routes and an empty backfield. Darn QB….Hurts should have just made up his own gameplan and got rid of his earpiece.

He saw blitz over and over those last several games and NEVER adjusted? Thats on him AND the coaches! Horrible. Not just bad, but HORRIBLE! Incontrovertibly bad QB processing. I believe that probably was why we saw so many screen passes. That was the audible. Everybody should have been expecting a very predictable blitz D. Yet coaches were calling bad plays. This tells me straight away the coaches had zero idea how to adjust and adapt. Coaches need a plan to communicate to the QB….of when and what to audible to. Very clearly never existed. Blame the QB if you just over nobody having any answers to fix our predictable failures.

April 5, 20242 yr Wondering if Fangio will switch Maddox and Ceedy Duce as a curveball on some plays?
April 5, 20242 yr Having to change my mindset to reflect the current state of our team. The D is being run by the DC near autonomously.
April 5, 20242 yr This means personnel wise too. Every addition, trade, drop…..on the D side of things is Fangio’s doing.
April 5, 20242 yr White will likely be in more of a pass rushing role than I’ve been accustomed to for our team. Pass rushing from his position has been near nonexistent for years here. (Not suggesting it’s his full time role)
April 5, 20242 yr In 2020, 45.7 percent of defensive plays featured a light box with six or fewer defenders. This past season, that rate was 51.2 percent. There are also fewer linebackers on the field, with teams playing nickel 58.9 percent of the time in 2020 and 67.2 percent in 2023.

To think these numbers are counting short yardage and goaline situations
April 5, 20242 yr Can these numbers continue on like this? Just astronomical to consider in another ten years what players will be earning.
