February 20, 20251 yr I heard Patullo had called some plays in practice before….so there is that experience to fall back on.

Yeah... that Saints trade was such a one sided steal... taking advantage of a desperate team. Probably going to go down as possibly the best trade the organization ever made as far as shaping up the best era in team history ( modern day) post 1950. Setting up everything from being able to get AJ, keep the pick used for Dean, putting us in position to get Carter and use the last asset to move up to get Dejean. Wish we could make that type of trade every year! Unfortunately at #32... we either need to find a team desperate to move back or move up. We'll see.

His relationship with Hurts 2. The possibility of getting a comp pick if he were to be hired as a head coach. I would add.... there wasn't much to choose from in 2023... seems like this year there were more opportunities to look if they so desired. This seems very decisive and 1st choice.

We have the talent, now with an elite RB that doesn't have to come off the field in pass protection... really changes the whole thing. He was the passing game coordinator, which is probably the best role to move into an OC job. Internally, it definitely looks like they chose this guy instead of settling for Johnson.

February 20, 20251 yr I'll ask this... did anyone on here ever think Brian Johnson was the preferred choice at OC? Did you ever feel confident that Siri or Howie had faith in him? Then we see the front office and the coach on the same page bringing in a different OC. They get to another SB but win it. This guy was picked quickly while still having other choices out there. Seems like the top choice from the front office and coach The same combo that just went to 2 SBs with their top choices. Not the fall back QB friend / comp pick hire they needed to babysit.

Missing the X and O expertise to adjust or provide answers. Back to the guys that lacked being capable of self scouting. Or if they did see what the issues were…they just couldn’t provide answers. So patullo is a fail before he begins??? You already know?

This was finally Siri earned the choice. So he chose his boy Patullo.

Huge difference having a knowledgable X and O coach that could actually teach. Whole O was transformed! Had that coach here that could coach all those aspects Siri decided to skip over previously.

That’s what’s happened.

February 20, 20251 yr Why am I so seemingly ‘out there’ by desiring a top O mind? Why can nobody else even dream of having an elite scheme and playcaller?

February 20, 20251 yr This is a normal and annual things with deep playoff teams and Super Bowl teams......OCs, DCs and assistant coaches get poached. Bringing in someone from the outside presents the problem of a new scheme and the learning curve, with no guarantee of success. Hurts and the offense has been thru a bunch of OC's and it's a good idea to go with siomeone very familiar with the players and the scheme.......and Hopefully, Patella brings some additional creativity to the offense. Ridiculous to complain about this selection.

Ridiculous to complain about this selection. Hurts and the O has been held back and struggled to overcome our situations within coaching on O. Look at the giant leaps made just in one season by a competent just average OC in Moore.
