Best Oline coach. Nobody invests in Oline like we do. Draft…FA…Trade…we have obsessed over Oline. But we not just got technical finesse Oline guys. Not slack athletes either. We have the biggest strongest workout elite best of the best. What moron builds a team with that and doesn’t utilize that advantage? You have the baddest and strongest….but you’ll go backwards all game eto th those guys? Dumb Not even dogging our Oline pass blocking. Just saying why wouldn’t you wear out the opponent with our Moving Mountsins? What S, CB or LB has the same pep and aggressiveness right after they had to deal with a 6’8 Oline barreling at him? Or even after making a tackle?

Combined not sure those 2 teams add up to us in any of those categories??? Niners had the Bronze dynasty. Real happy we’ve taken over. But I didn’t say anything about what you’re trying retort. I mentioned the guys that zagged when everybody else zigged. The league got slapped, faster, more specialized…more finesse and pass focused. These three teams instead are physical. Hit you in the mouth. Always worked in football…all my life. Heck I couldn’t even consider playing in the NFL because of monsters like our Oline.

But my statement was there had success being physical. Which teams had more success than Lions, Niners and Eagles last several years?

You are overthinking the " specialists " part...but that's your thing. The players bring different skill sets...that's natural. But we aren't using 10 string at each position with 10 different skill sets. The top guys make the roster and you work with that. I’m exactly disagreeing. You did overreact …because it was Gainwell. Best players isn’t the only choices.

He did several times….but so many he got two or three carries inside the five and couldn’t finish. 2 or 3 carries inside the 5?? So many times? You sure about that? Btw... at the 5....you get me 2 carries to bring it to the 1... I'm great with that. 2 sneaks left for a TD...works every time. I saw more of him getting it in position to score. That's his job. But let's take a look at the actual numbers....which I know you don't have 10 minutes to check because you are busy watching film of college guys. So I'll look into it when I have time. How many times Barkley started at the 5 or closer... had 2 consecutive carries. I'll check 3 consecutive carries too I'll say the 2 carries scenario will be leas than 5 all season. The 3 carries in a row...maybe once.

So yeah…my thoughts were….Shipley will surpass Gainwell. So should we dress Gainwell or consider a guy that brings a different complimentary skill set to the position room?

Agree...it fits the QB profile of taking care of the ball.. limits his passing attempts... limits the chances the defense can get us to turn it over... limits the pass rushing... not fun at all for the defense.
April 4, 20251 yr You can have a bunch of penetrating DTs….but if you don’t have any can lineup and stop short yardage youlll have problems.

Seems like we made exactly the move targeting exactly what I was saying with Dillon.

I'm exactly pointing out that the roster is limited...you can't have 8 guys with 8 specialities on the roster. It's exactly why Gainwell was the #2 last year. And why he brought value playing with guys like Swift and Sanders who couldn't block any of us here on the board in pass protection. Versatility matters because roster size is limited.
April 4, 20251 yr A guy like Dillon..if healthy... brings good pass protection and receiving out of the backfield. ..not simply a big guy for short yardage. Not going to waste a roster spot for that...but whatever makes you feel smart. I don't mind at all having Dillon...and his size. I love the short yardage RB.... but he isn't here just for that. If that's all he brings....he won't make the team.
