They have said they believe in the passing game.... QB, OL, DL, WR and CB would be their draft priorities.  They have had needs on the lines and like to prioritize that first.  But I absolutely believe that they would go CB if their target was there.

I still think it's going to be OL simply because I feel they are more comfortable trading up for one.  Or trading further.   I'm expecting them to pick in the high teens. 

Yeah I have OT at 50 if Howie will make the jump for Arnold. He should be right around where the Jags pick so IDK if they would give him up. Dejean would be less of a lift/sacrifice? I would have NP with  nice OT/G. I just want to stop the 2nd rate secondary draftees. Howie has done a nice job getting FA's,but sometime he won't be as fortunate,so I would like some youth to come in

I have this But I'm sure one would go with a move up. Arnold,Rosengarten(OT),Iasaac(edge),then Ainias Smith(slot WR) at 120 although it's also a good spot for Trevin Wallace t LB

I try not to force things when looking at the draft. 

Filling holes or just worrying about other years and pigeonhole a DB just because of emotion of years past ...not what I like.  

Nor did I ever like when they seemed to rate linemen way higher than studs AR other positions either.

Looking at the draft it seems like this year OL or CB should fall right in line with where we pick with some targets that we could move up slightly for.

To me the Alabama kid seems to check all the boxes.  Road grader run blocker that can start out playing RG and create a phenomenal run blocking OL.  That leads to less relying on our QB passing.  Which to me is a good thing.  We can keep the ball away from the other team...it helps the defense too.  I'm not sure one CB who plays in a rotation has that impact.

If the guy is also the long tern replacement for Lane...then it's a home run.   

The back 7 I feel like we need multiple pieces... so with one pick...I think this kid from Alabama would impact the game more.

Raiders GM talked of moving up…but also of moving back…but only so far. Raiders are at 13. By his statement if judge is as being too far. 

But I just hope they get their guy.  Hopefully getting Rodgers reinstated today doesn't change anything.  If they liked a CB better...then stick with that pick.

Because you draft a kid he is under team control for a while.   Having Isaiah Rodgers for 2024... could only be this year, so it shouldn't change anything. 

Even if this DeJean kid is also a return man similar to Rodgers.

Let's be honest.  Rodgers isn't even a guarantee to make the roster. 

Danial Jeremiah has this  Ennis Rakestraw, CB Missouri to us. I respect Jeremiah but this is a really meh pick - the guy's avg at best

Not really...  Hurts,  Dickerson and Smith are way better.  This one was obvious....similar to what was done before.  AJ got paid his nice bonus... this is year 3.  Restructuring the 5 year deal with the backloaded contract is something we have done for a while now.  AJ wasn't going to get all 5 years guaranteed.  He got a good deal from us.  He will get another one soon.

Great he got reinstated. Really liking him as a solid depth piece. Would label him a Slot CB. Has experience outside. With Maddox and Rodgers in the slot feeling pretty good about that position. Add in Ceedy Duce adds in at that position along with Sidney Brown.

We have a lot of work to do to make you understand contracts.   This was our front office under the gun to put an acceptable contract in place before we made the trade so we could have him locked up.  

AJ got his $$$    $23 plus mil signing bonus,  $40 mil instantly guaranteed with reality being the $57 mil guaranteed in 3 years. Now he can restructure after this year to get paid again with more guaranteed money. 

As opposed to playing 2022 on the cheap and an ok 5th year option in 2023.  AJ made out.  Kudos to our contract people for getting it done quickly.   It shows they understand the market and how to write contracts.

Different players. Rodgers has the very fluid hips while that’s basically the big knock against DeJean. We have Covey looking real strong as the P returner already obviously. Have that draft prospect Enis Rakestraw to be considered in this area. He’s been looked at as that slot CB hybrid multi-S role player.

He’s an experienced good player that isn’t old. Think you might be underrating this very under the radar move. Not trying to prop him up as some stud. But a proven quality multi role backup DB. He does have a shot of winning the Slot CB job. When you think about it he can be looked at to even become a building block longer term player…than Maddox especially.

I see him as an interesting option. Not a guy I’m championing…but believe he could be developed as that versatile multi role DB. Maybe it’s just all in my head…but I have a vision predicting Fangio wanting to be much less predictable than our D has been. A guy like this could be a piece to help disguising the read to the QB. That’s the goal many times, right? Fangio, along with all top DCs, strive to disguise and confuse QBs and O players reads presnap.

I liked much of how AJ trade worked out. Think Rosie had him. He had broke off negotiations with Titans with knowledge of Rosie would pay him. Getting the negotiations occurring with the draft clock running made it very clear it was a take it or leave it offer situation. We got what we wanted in that contract.
