I’ve just assumed Oline was the pick. Not a need though. Took Steen in the third just last draft as that T that could be our RG. Jurgens held off any competition year one.

Steen is a 3rd rounder yet you think it’s more likely we just go pass rusher when we just laid top dollar for Huff, kept Sweat even if it’s for a year, got BG on his farewell tour and just invested in Nolan last year.

But clearly we wouldn’t want to take an OL to go over a 3rd rounder???? Much rather replace our 1st round guy

I wouldn’t rule out anyone but just seems like Howie is admitting a mistake if he takes a pass rusher round 1. That just seems way more unlikely to me 

Even feels more like Howie is admitting Smith was a mistake if you trade up for another round 1 pass rusher after just paying for Huff

IDK could be a security type move, to make sure our pass rush is there which was visibly missing last year. I'm just still thinking there are plenty of guys in round 2(OT,G whatever) that can be fine RG starters,so making a move UP would mean we would REALLY need to like the guy. DeJean would be a sure thing in the secondary. Howie would have to break tradition to do it and he was the only top DB we had a visit with. The round 2 DB's would be more of a crap shoot IMO

So there's the choice TOP DB and a fine starting RG (excluding Latu here) or you take the top RG and more of a crap shoot pick at CB,but as I am uneducated,you can't listen to me

IMO the logical choice would be the first one and the lift wouldn't be as high,so who knows

I’ll will stand my ground and say we should take Cooper think we should 100% invest in our secondary give them an infusion of youth and Coop can play CB or S gives the versatility we like from those guys to pair with other like Gardner, Maddox.

Would also allow us to look and deal Bradberry

Yeah,I understand. Seems like most of the league has been swooning over Latu's ability. It's his medicals that are the issue. if those were gone(maybe they are) he would be a top 10 pick. And we DID have him in for a visit also

And this isn’t me saying Latu isn’t worth it or that we shouldn’t take him it’s more I find it hard to see Howie admitting hey maybe Smith isn’t it so let’s get Latu over him

I would love to get DeJean,let him work some and learn.I don't lose Bradberry yet until I'm sure DeJean is ready. I doubt it would take him long and he can play 3 positions in the secondary. It would be beneficial to have that swiss army knife. The others may be better at ONE spot,but his versaility should be a BIG BIG plus

The Oregon OL honestly seems like the guy we want makes a ton of sense can play any of the interior OL. Should plug in day 1 as a starter.

Can be the C or the RG depending on Steen and Jurgens

Well you could let Latu do a rotation,that way you know for sure his meds are ok. I suppose he will always carry that taboo,but if he's ok(and I'm sure us and others have done a through job) then why not? Not saying he will be the pick but I cant rule him out

Yeah Howie could pull a trade like he did with AJ. Instead of giving up draft capital. So IDK what Howie is going to do. Rumor is we move up for whoever that is. I just can't see the huge lift for a top RG. I like Beebe in 2 and he weighs what alot of the OT's do,so......

To be fair so would Latu a pass rusher my only hold up on him is Howie ego would feel like he is admitting Smith was a bad pick after 1 year

Did Nolan live up to his draft position? I mean he could take that step up this year,but can he? So I can't rule Latu out.he is a pass rushing madman(needs refined and controlled) but the talent is there and it's a Howie type pick(as well as O line). Like you I would still opt for DeJean

Yeah all I am saying is DeJean is a safe pick if Howie HAS to draft secondary. once you hit round 2 I think Howie would feel more shaky taking one. So you need to look at what Howie is most comfortable doing. IDK that we have had that high a secondary guy in on a visit EVER
