April 1Apr 1 Author So after reading the article which is the most in depth I have read, it seems contrarian. Hurts is "open to new ideas" yet reverts to changing to plays he likes rather than follow the coaches. This is not a good habit and needs to be broken ASAP. And while I love QB's who audible, you can't audible to something so vanilla and pedestrian. So as I said before, Mannion has his work cut out for him. Also the article failed to mention his "not running" side deal although it did point out his rushing numbers fell in 2025

April 1Apr 1 The real concern is the fact that we went with Hurts play of 4 verts( the play call that Ham blames Patullo and Siri for). On a critical 4th down in the playoffs. Was it the coaches wanted Hurts as comfortable as possible on the final play going with his decision? Was it they knew even if they called something else Hurts would just audible to verts? Was clear sign Hurts would go rogue they talked about the GB game Hurts calling the shot to AJ and Siri clearly wast on board with yet covered for QB1

Will Hurts revert like the article states he did with Moore?Kind of weird that after 6 seasons Hurts doesn't like turning his back to the defense. I mean no QB enjoys that, but some plays call for it and he seems not to want to attempt those, so once again that ties up Mannions play calls, limits what he can call because Hurts will just change it. Hurts is playing like a little girl who is afraid to skin her knee. IDK he is playing scared and that's not how a QB should be. Hurts is afraid to go out of his comfort zone which means he's not going to learn anymore
April 1Apr 1 To Hurts credit he does tend to do his best work when the cards are stacked against him and he has something to prove
April 1Apr 1 Author I understand Ham will get mad, but when you watch McKee play he doesn't play scared. He's not afraid to turn it loose and take his shots down field. We really can't afford to be the same predictable team we were last year. As I stated before, Mannion is not Patullo. He will march into Howies office and tell him his QB isn't going to go with his offense. Then the fun begins anew LOL

April 1Apr 1 Author I said I would give Patullo his chance. He failed. I will give Mannion his chance and I expect alot better, but if the QB is not going to cooperate, it may be another year of sloppy wins(or loses) and middle of the road execution. IDK which Hurts will show up,the guy who wants to play,or the guy who wants to hide like last year

April 1Apr 1 Author As far as the team, despite the numerous players we lost, we still have a top shelf cast of skill position players on offense. These are highly paid pros and Hurts needs to do his job so they can do theirs. Other than Dotson it's the same crew and they should be insanely tight after playing together for years. I always loved watching the Manning to Harrison connection. There is no reason we should not have that same connection now. Excuse time is over,it's time to do your jobs with skill and precision. This year I want a 28 PPG average and I know Ham doesn't like stats unless they are his own, but that is what is needed to stay competitive. 25 and change is not going to cut it
April 1Apr 1 Author Even worse than I thought, A paltry 22 PPG last year. Very sad with the talent we have ESPN2025 NFL Offense Total Team Stat Leaders - ESPNESPN is the place for NFL stats! Find a list of the Offense Total team stat leaders for the 2025 NFL Regular Season.

April 1Apr 1 Author 8 minutes ago, Bleedinggreen93 said:Sounds like Patullo was handcuffed couldn’t truly implement everything he wanted.Yeah, exactly. But the OC is always the scapegoat. Ham doesn't understand this. Patullo can only call so many plays that Hurts will run. Mannion is going to force Hurts to play or die trying

Howie didn't pay 55 million a year because of his passing prowess
April 1Apr 1 Author Add to that Elliott "money" was just horrible. I'm fairly shocked we re-signed him with a 70 yard kicker in this draft, but what do I know?
