Not ruling out any trade... not desperate for one either. For 3 years now I've seen multiple people on this board obsess about a McKee trade. I don't get it. If it happens it happens. Otherwise you keep a dirt cheap backup ( at an expensive position) until the end of that cheap rookie contract and then you get a comp pick. Seems like good business unless you are blown away with a trade offer.

AJ Feeley comes to mind as the last " backup " QB that was spun for purposes of a draft pick... 20 plus years ago.

Not sure why McKee is a player that everyone puts so much work into desperately finding a trade partner for?

As BG says.... the best trading partner for McKee...is a team that gets an injury to their current guy.

That's when an offer should be higher in value.

Otherwise, if I get another year with McKee on the roster and contributing in the weekly preparation and then get a 4th or 5th round comp pick later...im ok with that.

He has been a great asset to the salary cap being around for so cheap. One more year of that would be great if that's how it plays out.

@cunninghamtheman question, will hurts' sheer will to win be enough to compensate for his declining play this upcoming season? or will we see a repeat of the last year?

With this, future O line looks good, 2 new edge rushers to work with, Kilgore can be a S or whatever you need him to be,very versatile, Stribling is a nice WR to develop,Allen can maybe take the RB3 from Shipley, I don't see why not,plus you have Jam Miller on the PS,Domani Jackson could be a very nice CB2 in a year,same with Boerkircher. The UDFA's all have talent to bring out with a solid devlopmental guy in Ball. Styles can become a useable player at LB with some effort. Payton is a nice QB to work on although it's possible he gets drafted before the end(so take someone else there). Fly Eagles Fly

BTW Ertz would like to return to Philly,even if it's one day to retire as an Eagle. If he would play on the cheap, why not bring him back as a depth TE? He is older now, but could still be a fill in for us

He could be a later in the preseason kind of add no real value in adding Ertz right now. Needs to see how the draft plays out if we address TE2 spot not sure Ertz would have much of a role and I’m sure he wants some type of playing time.

Now if we miss out on TE in the draft could we want an upgrade over Calc that’s a real possibility and even older Ertz is likely the better receiver and better blocker.
