Travis Burke rocketing up boards. We wanted a 30 with him but he had "conflicts" so we are meeting with him virtually. Apparently he is a popular guy all of a sudden. PFF had him ranked as OT11. Anxious to see how far he moves up with a week + to go. Whichever OT we choose may not be the best at the time, but we need to know who the best will be in a year. Maybe this guy can be that opening up the 23 pick where I have Iheanachor. We're going to have a super interesting draft this year

Ole Miss WR De'Zhaun Stribling (No. 48) has pro-ready traits -- even if the 2025 college production doesn't immediately grab your attention. He's a physical, reliable target who wins with strong hands, toughness over the middle and the ability to consistently find space against zone looks. His versatility (outside, slot, even H-back usage) and elite blocking give him Day 1 value in NFL personnel groupings. 

And despite the lack of high-end production for Ole Miss last season, Stribling had 919 receiving yards in 2024 for Oklahoma State, including four games of at least 100 yards. When you add in that he rarely drops passes and is one of the best blocking wide receivers in the class, it's not hard to imagine him as a Day 2 pick. I personally don't have him this high, but now it looks very possible, I spotted this kid early and I would love to steal him in day 3. If not, then I snag Jeff Caldwell from cincy

Well that explains it, too much bed romping time before the SF game. No one can get married before they are 36 if we sign them. They will just have to put their lives on hold

This could be an odd draft for us we could realistically see our top picks play very little as rookies. Looking at the first 3 rounds and possible positions we could select.

If we go OT round 1 he might see the field with injuries but won’t be the day 1 starter most likely.

Edge-likely see the most playing time as he should be part of the rotation right away

WR- this is a tricky one if we drafted a guy and kept AJ could be tough for the rookie to get on the field with Hollywood/Wicks possibly Wilson all in the mix for that WR3 spot

TE- probably will get some play time but won’t be day 1 starter be behind Geodart for at-least a year.

Outside of S not sure if any player we draft will start day 1 and seems unlikely we spend a high pick at S

So, you are drafting for Miami. In round 3 you could take Nussmier at QB OR you could offer Howie pick 75 in round 3 for McKee. What would you do??? If they make that trade happen, then we can choose Nuss at 75. We get a nice potential QB prospect to keep the QB factory going(aging Dalton as QB2), they get McKee who would love the chance to start and a guy the Fins can build around. I think that would be a win for both teams. Another thought is McKee would work well in the new OC scheme which should be much more pass oriented. If Hurts falls on his face or keeps the audibles doing to the vanilla plays he loves McKee could step in for us? Interesting days ahead with some major implications. Hurts can't seem to grasp many concepts except the college RPO and McKee is more of your standard pocket passer type suitable for the "open it up" scheme they had in GB. The guys in the HOF are those types (Manning, Favre, Young) so there is that to consider. As a fan it's a complicated mess. But if you are Howie, you know exactly what the future looks like, but of course that will remain a secret until it no longer is. I'm sorry, but IMO Hurts is on trial in a "contract" year or at least a "prove it year" and that will be decided henceforth. I would be sad to see McKee go away, but the man deserves his chance to start. Another spot would be AZ. Sorry for the essay,just thinking out loud

Neither Miami signed Malik Willis to be the starter has Ewers and not a good QB class I’d use the 3rd on a different position and see what Willis can do if they suck they will be in prime position for QB in 2027 which should be a far better class

Agree,thought the same that most will sit and learn,but really that's a tremendous position to be in. Let the rooks sit, maybe spot plays or garbage time (if there is any of that). I personally think AJ goes to the Pats. Drafting a late WR with who we have now is fine. A kid like Stribling or Caldwell would be a nice addition and assuming either works out, Moore can go after this year. Maybe Hollywood stays and we have Wicks for 2 years,so the rook would take Moores spot. really happy Howie addressed the WR room very well and set us up for the future room

McKee would blow Ewers off the map. Willis is another Tua. IDK if you can trust the guy. Even as QB2 in Miami it gives him(McKee) more of a chance to step in than he has here. At the end of the year McKee isn't worth anything unless we sign him again

If we looked to trade McKee best time would likely be during the preseason.

A because McKee always plays well during the preseason so should help increase interest in him

B hopefully a QB goes down with an injury making a team desperate for a QB

AJ gives us picks in '27. Of course we could stack the '27 draft, I think Howie would like another pick in this draft.

That's possible as McKees last outing wasn't so good, so you could be correct that he needs some decent showings

I think he's perfect for us. Sitting a year behind Lane will get him ready. He has so much potential it's crazy. He has only been playing football for 5 years(see Mailata)

Miami has pick 63 also I think. Why I chose them as a trade partner. McKee is better than Ewers and Malik may not suit what they want,so we'll see what happens

I would LOVE to get Malachi Lawrence at 54,but don't think he will hang around that long. If I made a move up,it would be for this kid, but we didn't bring him in for a 30. Sutton maybe at 54,but IMO that is a reach

Exactly the new era in Miami went out and signed Malik Willis paid him 70m with over 45m guaranteed.

Not like they inherited Willis they chose to go out and sign him in free agency

I'm going to go out on a limb...and say you are looking at Miami...because your thoughts involve trading McKee for a 2026 draft pick. You have invested time looking at these players and you want the shiny new toy that is available now...so trying hard to discount Miami signing Willis.

But BG is correct... if we trade McKee, his value would be highest with a combo of injury somewhere and a good preseason performance.
