So my early projections for TE

Geodart- starter obviously

Stowers- backup

Mundt- 3rd TE- could share the field with Geodart as the #2 TE depending what we want on any given set.

Latu- just the most versatile ST experience also helps

Wright- think could easily be a PS stash

They already talking about Payton being a Taysom Hill clone and being used as a gadget player for us and I’m just not a fan of it.

Let him sit as the number 3 QB and develop him as a passer. Every time we try and use the gadget QB feels like it never works and just throws the entire O out of sync.

I’m fairly convinced Rosie forced the OT in the third round choice. Consensus rank was 116 and took him at 68.

Positional decision. While fairly backed in a corner. Didn’t have any selections left that were significant. Huge wait until the next pick.

First two choices were targets. I keyed in on how he was the TE for us. Huge upside and growth potential.

Guessing Latu he was probably our best blocking TE last year pretty sure he played STs and even got reps as an H-back. Not sure if the H-back in the plans moving forward but can’t really beat that versatility

Hard to educated guess towards the nonST O contributions translating or not. But yes…could win him a spot.

Stone Smartt was brought in….ST core guy.

Think other than Uar Benard…which shouldn’t even count….Bell was the only pick that wasn’t really high on value. Basically all others were consensus higher than where we grabbed them.

Sounds correct to me

So why were the Vikes so obviously not deciding to pay Greenard?

I'm with you. No gadget guys at QB. if you want to run a trick play that's cool but no need to use him for that

Not like how we wanted to keep our pass rusher and just got outbid. Can’t help but raise some unknown red flags…just based on this factor.

We needed depth and with the tier 2 guys gone and the fact Howie went personally to Miami, it's not a shock we took him. He may or may not be Lanes replacement, but we needed depth either way

Going to educated guess Greenard isn’t the strong character team leader type to be coveted. But still..

Don’t even see much of a chance he’s Lane’s replacement. See him almost with a ceiling of backup swing T.

Depth is the answer. Forced pick positional totally my read on him.

Why Vikings May Come to Regret the Decision to Trade Jona...

The Vikings received two late third-round picks in exchange for arguably their best defensive player.

He wanted a raise and the Vikes wouldn't pay him

Really weak draft….that’s my read. Wasn’t much to really get out of it if you ask me. Made the most of it. Really it’s not even just my opinion…really every team was thinking the same. Nobody wanted to remotely give up next year picks towards players in this draft.

Not forced. he fell due to other positional needs after the tier 1 OT's were already gone. Iheanchor was a great fit for us, but Lemon was the BPA

That’s the red flag I’m referring too. Why?

Draft rankings are rankings, nothing more. Nobody can guarantee any college kid will transition. Mailiata wasn't ranked at all and he turned out ok LOL. Bell was on the team that played to the title protecting Beck, whatever his ranking was is immaterial

What red flag? he wanted to be paid more and the Vikes said no. They save cap besides. if they weren't going to pay him Howie would. What is the red flag???? Why are you making up BS that's not there?
