How long…or what’s the acceptable learning curve grace period just for any QB to reliably handle his new first time duties that season under an actual O mind qualified capable coach? Couple of seasons? At least half a season? Heck…can’t possibly expect first three games. Wasn’t fourth game where a handful of our starters were out injured and our team never exited the plane in the blazing TB heat? I can’t even find much of any reasoning to really consider the Tampa game in. Personally I actually suggested we full on just sit that game out taking the L. That’s how obvious that situation was in my mind.

I’m just a realist. Been better to have just sat our starters that actually could suit up that day. Was brutal what happened instead.

How can you make this decision here and now? If we are leading by two scores…Hurts still needs to run? This is where you are lost. More likely Hurts gets shut down on the bench letting Tanner finish the last series…maybe even two. But if we dominate in this fashion? We are labeling it a negative. No context…no details…heck no actual game or game situations…haven’t even made our biggest post June 1st blockbuster trade yet.

To me…I never once couldn’t realize how utterly flawed this philosophy actually was.

Ok…if week one stat padding is the priority? Then in that completely opposite world view of competitive sport goals? Sure. To me…that’s just something else entirely. Frankly don’t believe it even exists. Betting and fantasy football only areas it’s relevant.

Our team instead has been exact opposite now. Take advantage of controlling the clock and minimizing possessions. I go so easily as far to say one of the Eagles biggest advantages has been elite at icing games away with the lead.

Every opponent is completely aware of this undeniable fact. Which creates added pressure on them. It changes their decision making in the fourth quarter…frankly even been before that. Plenty of coaches decide to P and try to get the ball back….in other games /versus other teams. Eagles have been icing ends of games killing controlling the clock with the lead beyond 5 minutes left…more than just like one time.

Or…do you pass pass pass padding stats like Josh Allen chasing fame and glory? Watched him with a lead score real quick in the fourth quarter. Stats looking fantastic….but it provides the only opportunity for his opponent to have a chance in the game. So Allen loses some of those…because that quick passing score saving game clock leads to opponent all out forced to go all out scoring twice quickly. Which happens too much. Nothing more dangerous than pros elite athletes being forced into totally going big. Nothing to lose.

As far as the third team deal, I would look at Jax. JMO(gut feeling). I think the Jags want to make a run at it this year. They have a very good QB in Lawrence(he can wing it), but they have always struggled to get him weapons and get the job finished. This is the year they could be close to putting it all together
