How many injuries did Kelce have early in his career?   Small guy...looked like he couldn't hold up?

That's what you miss....it's the intangibles.  This is how certain guys learn and progress. While others get satisfied with ok early seasons.

I have no clue what Ham was watching?  When you have all these preconceived ideas in your head, very easily can get skewed.

I was the one that preconceived Carter as the top player I wanted in the draft. But understand his potential negative sides. But I disconnect my ideas and expectations for what actually occurs. Results are from where I speak. That and looking forward.

real high picks from top level college

Don’t we only have 3 and honestly only two real high picks out DTs lol Smith was a late first that everyone knew was going to redshirt as a rookie

Dean was a 3rd and Ringo was what a 4th

The guys Ham " called" .. you are missing the purpose of the posts....the subliminal message that Howie messed up.

On the field...where did you see a distracted player?

I’m not faulting Davis for what our FO did I knew what to expect from Davis is why I’m not disappointed in him…. A what 350 guy struggling with the length of the nfl season when he played what 12 games in college and went to an extra 5 regular season games then the playoffs…

Again guy who young and has to be on top of his weight and conditioning did shock me… hell I remember Embidd having conditioning problems in the nba when he was younger loved his chick fil a and Shirley temples he figured it out

How long you waiting for Davis to figure it out?

6.5 sacks as a rookie on a bad defense those results

The reasoning philosophically stated behind loving Georgia and Bama players was about how it was the lowest jump to the pros of anybody.

Again Davis wasn’t terrible at the start of the season and by most accounts they say 3 years isn’t this Davis 3rd year….

And Carter walked in and had 6.5 sacks as a rookie Smith got stuck behind a trio of pretty good pass rushers… again who were you benching for Smith????

Dean was a 3rd rounder probably half the 3rd round picks don’t pan out and Ringo was a 4th these are some sure fire picks

See and there is the danger. At his best. Under life destroying times falling in the draft he fell in line. Do you see him growing up and becoming a workout warrior? Will he become a leader of the team? That start to his career couldn’t have been better. But I’m pointing towards his character. To his will to desire to become the best and HOF. He could. But I don’t see him stepping  up like that. Think he accomplished just enough to have everybody blow praise on him. Let him ride and get by. Big and fast and strong. He’s good enough to cruise by. But more likely to do something real dumb and get in trouble than become our weight training leader of the locker room.

This is every player im  more worried about Jalen Hurts then I am about Jalen Carter.

Yep he started both seasons making a difference. Then couldn’t regain his job back from really old player in Linval that was sitting on the street. Rookie year and injury. So ok. But took a nose dive year two very similar. Just nowhere near any level of endurance to be a factor second half if the season.

I’m totally opposite. I know Hurts will work his butt of to change and fix things. Maybe it won’t always work out great. But can rely on Hurts doing the work. Hurts will be in shape. Hurts dedicated to his craft without any doubt or hesitation. Easy to expect improvement from guys dedicated to making it happen.

Like Milton. He’s dedicated. I can trust and roll with him. He transformed his body from small college ball to become a pro.

I can’t know what you mean by this.

Your right as I’ve stated numerous times he needs to work on his conditioning to be able to play a full 17 games…But again a young guy 23 that naturally big having issues with weight and conditioning not the most shocking thing in the world.

Again example Joel Embidd had conditioning issues and he was older than 23. It’s definitely something Davis needs to work on and it’s something he knows he needs to work on

Jalen Hurts regressed drastically he went back to being dead last in the league at holding the ball… struggled with turnovers…. Looked lost toward the end of the year…

Him getting back on track is way more concerning then a talented Carter who hasn’t shown anything other then he is a hard worker willing to listen and get coached since coming in.

UH how many football leaders has Covey actually been around?

Didn’t Williams have .5 sack and played nearly the same number of snaps as Davis who is solid 50 pounds higher and still managed 2 more sacks???? And this was Milton 3rd year in the league

He didn’t specify football just said leader…. But image had leaders on his football teams through out his playing high school teams, college teams etc

Yet I’m pointing towards his character and mindset. All set up a perfect storm to keep him in line rookie season. But haven’t seen him do things to change and grow. Still see all this question marks about him existing.

Embiid took time…but finally embraced the desire to be great. Carter is a very far distance from growing to those levels yet. I wonder ever.

IDK leading in college can't compare to the pros. Just like the college RPO,,it's great to mix that in on occasion, but it's not a pro offense. Play action normally replaces the college RPO. I mean if this was a quote from a 5-6 year pro veteran I could understand it. IDK I'm not in the locker room either
