We’re pretty much completely screwed without Smitty.

Probably late on this but Cooper Dejean ranked 38 on the top 100 this year huge then Q. Honestly not surprised Q is the better pure CB but the versatility that Coop brings really underrated( well guess not since he was rated higher) but something that I think many over look

Just a side note Iowa really teaches fundamentals Dejean not only a good coverage guy but he really good in the box and tackling… and massive list of Iowa TEs too guy obviously Kittle.

Image if Iowa actually got top talent regularly to develop because the coaches clearly seem to know something

Versatility been the word most tied to Coop. But…he didn’t play well outside Believe he’ll suceeed at S. He’s a strong tackler and a weapon in returns.

It’s really tough since they’re only receiving the top huge money in the Big 10.

Imagine being practically anybody else that’s not in the Big 10 or SEC…schools not getting half as much money.

I’d say the opposite. Why can’t Iowa produce better players being in the top league?

Iowa I respect …they do decent.

Agree, the ability DeJean has to play all over the field, front, back, inside and outside. Excellent tackler too! Great chess piece to have for the defense.

Big $$$ coming for him next year

Looking at these contracts... very easy to see DeJean at $20 mil per. That would be #10 CB and #5 safety.

I could see him closer to $25 mil per on the extension ... using the final year of his rookie deal to absorb the signing bonus and lower the cap hits.

That puts him top 5 CB and top 3 S. Then Mitchell would get his deal after the 5th year option is exercised. Probably showing $33 mil per

Jodan Lewis right now is considered the highest paid nickel CB, 3 years at $30 mil. $10 mil per. DeJean is going to shatter that.

Jordan Lewis was ranked #89 overall by good old bleacher report...lol. Didn't make the NFL players list though. Coop at #38.... he is definitely going to get paid!

Excellent tracking ability. We saw the brilliant SB pick off of Mahomes. That instinctual stuff can't be taught but Iowa developed it. Kudos to the Iowa staff. Great D coach there. And they turn out great players with mullets and who doesn't need a good mullet????🤣 I have one but it's only 1 hair, so no one even notices 🤣

As he should

Carter, Tank, Hunt and Wicks.... post written saying these are the guys who seem to be standing out and making plays every day.

Wicks been waiting for this chance the whole time in GB. He was kind of the forgotten man there. He seems truly pleased that we "rescued" him from further abuse. He is really busting it to become relevant on this team and I see no reason he can't. Hurts seems to be making that chemistry. You can see them ratchet jawing with each other even at practices. WR's that change QB's have to learn HOW the ball gets there as well a needing it to be there. QB's have different spins and delivery speeds and the WR's will adjust to those. Hurts can kill it this year IF the can make fast reads, decisions and delivery. He really needs to turn up the heat in this area. Hurts always has had a field vision problem. He's going to have alot of receivers come open. Lemon seems to be having trouble with NFL speed, but he'll get there and Hurts needs to watch for him. Finally have a total demon in the slot and that needs to be exploited. If that can be done we're going to give defenses real headaches with the Bark/Tank 1/2

We need Hunt with Grennard down for who knows how long. Carter should have a great year. I am looking forward to seeing opposing QB's eat some turf. Who is "AJ"?(lol)

Both Q and DeJean I’d believe to receive high guarantees

Smitty and Lemon are out….so Wicks is really it. Covey out too.
