Just basic and obvious stuff I keep explaining to you …seemingly endlessly. No, as of yet, I have yet for you to explain it to me. 2 pages ago you were in panic mode, now it's not that significant???? That's "consistent"????
May 1, 20241 yr Author Was Kelce the best C we ever had? Sure, I would say so. He also had top notch guys playing next to him most of his career, which helps individuals immensely as a unit. So what are the stats between C #1 and C #32 league wide? It's a simple question? I will answer myself because I know you won't do it. I'm sure 1 is not allowing QB sacks/pressures,so what are the others? I would think not missing games during the year would be a factor you could count. But seriously this chasm between Kelce and Jurgens is so immense you know its a BIG drop off before one snap has been played? Jurgens played at RG(if you recall) and he got to hear Kelce for 17 games(plus pre and 2 camps) as to "how and why I called what I did" and he was hand picked by Kelce. That's a nice head start over a stone cold rookie,so your initial panic was unfounded and I'm glad you returned to sensible. Does Jurgens have things to learn. Of course. I never said he didn't. But there are 32 C's in the league and if they can't play the position, they don't last long. He's probably not going to make the pro bowl in year 1,but there is no need for all the panic and name calling and thinking you are better than everyone else when someone else points things out. It's supposed to be a DISCUSSION board

May 1, 20241 yr Enjoy watching the highlight film from this draft class. I’m including undrafted RB Milton. Think he’s the compliment to Shipley. Just so much to be optimistic about with these guys.

If we can avoid collapsing and play solid consistent ball we can be better than last year. better RB and maybe Smith can win the slot start. New OC,so I hope he knows how to use Goedert correctly. I think we can compete with anyone. Just sayin'

Just so much to be optimistic about with these guys. Well, I'm happy we got some young talent in at RB. Perhaps we can score a usable #1 after Bark is done. Also glad to pick up A. Smith. I watched alot on him and think he will be a nice asset at slot for years to come. Mostly thrilled Howie took the plunge at DB. If these 2 work out(and I see no reason they won't except the transition may be harder for Mitchell) then Howie will know he can indeed draft DB's with a little less trepidation than before. I think that will give him a boost and it certainly would the fan base as far as getting players at any position. Still a little bothered by the Hunt pick. Still seems high to me,but he was on our radar and I hope he can be a BU at least as the season progresses.Overall very happy with the draft and adding even more picks next year. I am a bit higher on this team than some and what the "rankings" show. I think those rankings fail to understand how badly we used Goedert last year. if used correctly along with Smith we can compete with anyone. I think Mitchell and DeJean will show they are worthy of inheriting starting jobs next year and contribute also as this year moves along. We wanted go get younger and Howie has been doing that over the last few drafts. So he got what we all wanted. Moore should open up this offense and I am anxious to see what changes will be made on defense. Should be alot of fun to watch this team this year.

He will need a good camp, but disagree with the above that he makes the final roster. PS with potential this year and maybe makes the 53 next. JMO as it will depend on how camp goes

Bigger concern for me is if we can get the pocket moved so Hurts can see over the big OL and attack the middle of the field easier. Looking at things the saints did for Brees or even KC with Mahomes. Really no excuse for why we can not utilize the middle of the field in the passing game plenty of teams have figured it out with shorter QBs

The quick slants and crossers…some pick plays.

I mean... you still have to have the QB see over the line... you are talking about routes that start wide, we throw it wide as they come towards the middle... BG is talking about hitting the receiver over the middle. That's dependent on the line of scrimmage...not so much the route.
May 1, 20241 yr Hurts is great at throwing those routes... the ones right up the middle, he seems to have trouble seeing.

But dude struggles to see right there over the middle. Some gimme plays. It is what it is... I struggle to dunk a basketball... some things need height, that's life. I like your idea of researching some concepts to move the pocket or just see what New Orleans did. But a big difference is Brees grew up passing the football... Hurts running. Much easier to develop as a passer ...when passing was the only reason you made the league. Brees needed all the little nuances from the start. Hurts...when in doubt, tuck and run...that's tough to overcome.

Kyler comes to mind not sure how well AZ is at throwing over the middle though. Brees just the only guys that comes to mind for shorter QBs that success all over the field

You can run from there or you are stuck behind your Oline trying to get the ball out. With the RPO,that freezes your Oline in place (but I'm uneducated and unaware,so what would I know?). Other teams mix the RPO in,not use it as their basic form of offense like we do
