So if you wish to trade this player…would you receive better trade compensation with 17 mil on the hook? Or 7 ?

You think you were getting a first round pick for Reddick🤣🤣🤣🤣

So I’ll take that as the first disadvantage…against what you just preached as zero disadvantages.

Reddick costs $15 million for the Jets cap....

3 years 45 million ..that's 15 million per.

So no difference there....what you skip are 2 things

Signing bonus....good for team and player.

The new team doesn't have the signing bonus count...so they don't care.   The player wants up front money

Read my last post.  Again... stop with " theory "  start looking at #s.

You cab learn things

Sounds  like you are really convinced Fangio is very anti-Reddick. Where-as I was leaning more on Fangio fell in love with these two additions this offseason in Huff and Hunt. Maybe it’s just both.

Might be all the above. It’s a big area for Fangio as a strength. So having an established player like Reddick that won’t make Fangio look like he was responsible for accomplishing his success…might be an ego factor. But Fangio is strong with LBs…so as long as he turns Jalyx, Huff and Nolan into very productive players things should work out ok. Really almost have to add Baun. Rosie stated how he was a clear early target of Fangio.

Does seem like near league wide Reddick has been underestimated and under appreciated. I’ve felt revolving mostly just around his size.

His value lies strictly with what the 32 teams are willing to pay.

The Jets can actually save money if they extend him and give him a raise.  So could the Eagles if they wanted...

What does that tell you?  Why so difficult to understand.   2022 was a fluke year for the Eagles... you watched 40 plus years of the Eagles...do you really think that was the best team...14 wins?   Or even a top 5 Eagles team?  Idk if it was even top 10.

Reddick especially...benefitted from that fluke of a joke schedule.

This is my legit concern with our QB.  Was 2022 a fluke for him?  Idk...but he is younger and to me doesn't have to be a top QB to win with this group. Just make better decisions managing the game with the occasional big run.

You are Howie/ Lurie... you talk with Fangio.

Your question..." is Reddick worth keeping at his current price and possibly go through the BS disgruntled season.... costs us $13 mil of cap space plus a day 2 pick.... plus playing time for these other guys.

Or we could extend him.

I absolutely think if Fangio really wanted him... he would be here.

You take it as a negative extreme. I don't.  I see it as having to pay a lot for a guy that takes away snaps from young guys that our coaching staff really wanted.

I have a Lamborghini to sell you.... would you pay $ 4 million for it?  If no, does it make you a hater.  Or just simply preferring not to give up that much.

Clearly Reddick toughed through injury to begin last season…not getting that official sack. But the biggest factor was in 2022 our coverage was good. 2023 it was almost worst in the league. There is a symbiotic relationship between coverage and pass rush. With receiving targets always being open….QBs weren’t holding on to the ball as much. Hence pressures more than sacks. Bradberry situation alone was massive. Was fantastic in 2022…garbage in 2023. If the CBs are locking down the targets? The pass rush gets home.

And then $13 mil of cap space... more experience for these other edge guys....and bamm a day 2 pick that you will be talking about in 20 months.

I didn’t take it to any extremes. I just asked your opinion on all the factors. Mostly just was it Fangio being anti-Reddick or so very pro Huff and Hunt? Or both? I feel like I have come across strong intel on Fangio loving Huff and Hunt. Not really uncovered the anti-Reddick part.

Again... if you pay attention... I never said Reddick was a bad player.  I just don’t think keeping him ...giving up everything we discussed in order to keep him.... was the right move.

You need to stop taking every comment to the extreme.

I don't think Hurts sucks...don't think Reddick sucks....   we can critique aspects of their games and results without thinking they suck.

Really Sanders is the only one I think actually sucks.

Why is it " anti Reddick "?

Why not pro $13 mil, day 2 pick and more snaps for the other guys?

I think every offseason provides opportunities.

You are locked in on guys signing deals and if you like them having them finish out the contract.

I look at it as ...thanks for playing well...but are you worth keeping if I can open up better options if I move you.

Keeping you is a good option...but moving you is better. That's what I see with moving Reddick.

This offseason Reddick AND Sweat were on the trade block.

That’s where the backloading of contracts plays a heavy role. Rosie can sign and bring in new blood and only take a 3 mil cap hit on good size contracts. So this will always be an appealing option.

Sweat was given permission to look for a trade?

Not really... it didn't effect Reddick one bit.

3 years 45 mil

2 years $32.2 mil.

They saved the $13 mil, which is less than the $15 mil per..wasn't like it was 20 mil savings.

Don't over think it.

With Reddick it comes down to I’d like to win the SB. Having our top pass rusher I see as aiding that goal. Losing him and Cox feels like we took a step backwards along the Dline. Just simple and basic as that. Huff broke out with his career season. But how much of that reflects from being on a very talented D with the ex-Niners D mind as HC? Sauce Gardner locking down the receiver aids the pass rusher…that symbiotic relationship I previously was referring to. Plus he just came in super fresh only to pass rush.

This comes after the Eagles were reportedly fielding trade calls on Sweat, who is entering the final year of his contract

Lol.. Google Kelce talking about the playbook and how he didn't look at it once since they went to iPad.

Said the rookies will have zero problems picking it up.

Gotta love a dude that keeps it simple.

Saved 13 mil by having our best defender play for the Jets.

What does Fangio, Siri, Howie and Lurie think.... you think you want to win a Superbowl more than them?

You don't think they made the decision because they think it's best for the team?

Again...say 3 years 15 million each year....it would have saved $15 million to have Reddick ( who isn't our best defender)  play for the Jets.

No extra savings by unloading Reddick due to any method you think Howie did for that contract.

Was funny.

Jason did acknowledge the difference in their positions and how that impacts the need for the playbook.

"It's different in the pass game. In the run game we've got like four or five new concepts a year," Jason said.

Ohhh.   " fielding calls"   because other teams were inquiring.    Not that they publicly gave permission for Reddick to seek a trade... but they were not hanging up the phone without a conversation that the other team started about Sweat.   I see.
