Can he come in and be a game manager that doesn’t make any big mistakes? A backup QB the team can believe enough in….so team morale doesn’t completely collapse.

I can’t even fathom how FL got into his head that Pickett is even a superior passer to Hurts? Just so clearly a guy with blinders on totally against our QB1

I understood how everybody here seem to be missing out on the evolution of Wentz. Every Eagles fan optimistically wanted to believe that best version of Wentz could be reincarnated.

But then Shew. Who we couldn’t win a game with was actually being argued to bench Hurts for. Would have thought lessoned would have been learned. Hurts took a mediocre team and willed them to win. 2021 team wasn’t very good. Rookie Smitty was the main receiver. Which I’ve always been high on him….but as a rookie….that was a huge ask. But had Quez and worse as the other WR. It was pathetic. Yet our QB1 wouldn’t allow that team to do anything but refuse to lose. He brought the attitude of a winner and competitor to all.

Shew I don’t even wish to tear down. He’s not bad. Capable NFL QB. But no leader. No Franchise QB. Only reason any fan has for belief in our team under Siri has been created by Hurts. He doesn’t act big time. He’s not flashy Hollywood. He doesn’t try to big the dictator. He’s more reserved. He leads so very much by example.

Listen to even the D players in those pressure moments of games….they all believe in Hurts will get it done. In game quotes of stuff like : "you don’t even know who we got”

The team galvanizing and leadership starts right from the beggining….first thing you hear after Rosie signs you the Eagles…you hear from Hurts welcoming you aboard!

You don’t need our coaches to hold the ultra competitive Hurts back during games or in frustrating moments. He doesn’t need any of that. He stays so even keeled. Some seem to try and knock him for that. But that’s a strength. He doesn’t rattle easily. He doesn’t get super emotional and cloud his judgment. He’s prepared…and is ready to face whatever odds. He’s been very battle tested. Nobody has been through and faced what Hurts has in his football days.

Guy is 25 years old. Been battle tested on the biggest stages. Had to suffer and persevere through massive adversities. Benched at Bama….but still answered the call even after dealing with that most difficult blow. Just think how difficult that must have been? Gotta believe any SEC QB totally believes he’s big time and set for stardom. But took it….learned from it. Then came in and delivered as a backup when he was needed by the team that benched him. So he had to find a new college home. He goes and has such an amazing season with his one chance redemption moving to OK. He absolutely lit it up. Answering all naysayers in the most indisputable way. If not for Burrow having colleges all time season Hurts wins the Heisman as his answer to being benched.

Yet was proving himself by dominating at OK enough to gain respect for him as a player to draft him top five overall? Freaking guys like Pickett get overdrafted first round. Trey Lance…and so on. Who even knows how far Hurts would have fallen if not for us drafting him in the second round?

53rd pick

Hurts evidently is just a lightning rod for disrespect. He does everything possible he can control to be the best. Make those around him the best. Guts out playing so injured without complaining or letting on how bad things are for him.

Fans want to jump on a player over him slacking and partying too hard? That I can understand. But I just don’t get trying to constantly tear down the guy that has so clearly stepped up as our leader. He does all the right things. For our team…for himself. He isn’t some thug…or acting like a spoiled Primma Donna …QB/WR type.

Hurts is super talented guy. But he’s made himself into so much more than that. He’s taken it upon himself… to do everything he can to max out his body and potential.

He’s had a new coach learning a new O every year of college and pros except one. Under Steichen…he got a second season under a legit O mind. Answered with having a runner up MVP season. Should have been SB MVP

Us Philly fans especially should be over the hump of the BS protypical QB measurables.

Hurts has proven so clearly how so many other key traits are more crucial to being a Franchise QB.  Why not embrace that? Why is it so hard to root for the little guy that’s done nothing but overcome adversity?

Man, Ham is really rubbing off on people here with these ideas of moves way in advance.

I think we have a backup QB for cheap here the next two years.... I don't see trading Pickett if he is a good backup for cheap.  I don't hope he gets on the field in games because that means injury for Hurts.    I don't think saying "hike " and handing off in blowouts does anything for him either.

QB is an expensive position, a great way to manage cap is not having an expensive backup.   Mariota cost a decent amount,  was a waste of cap space that we can't get back.   I don't see them unloading a guy that they think is better and is much cheaper.

Right,if you saw the "meanwhile". Just saying he is a tradable QB at any time we see fit to make the move. Personally I thought we stole the kid. He's young and has raw talent and has been a starter. He wanted out and Howie saw a quick way to grab a bargain QB who is worth more than we are paying him IMO.

I just love how his 13 career passing TDs and 13 interceptions in 25 career games makes him the superior passer to our QB1. Exactly just how extremely laughable the Hurts Hating Agenda swings so regularly here

I think this " agenda" you speak of.... way worse outside of " here"

Could be you choose to ignore it, because you don't want to hear it.  But Hurts on here definitely doesn't get the " hate" like he does elsewhere.

Where did I say he was superior? Why do you always put words in other peoples mouths then believe it??? You'd be a great politician. BTW I don't think Kenny is that far behind as Hurts lost a year last season to sharpen his passing game. I don't hate Hurts(LMAO) and I don't hate Kenny despite what moronic labels you put on people

And choked on the big stage when it counted. How much do you spend per month on bronze statue polish? It has to be astronomical. You are so blinded by your loyalty, you fail to see Hurts as he is. Your man crush is truly pathetic to see and it's WAY overboard

He had to transfer to play,he wasn't good enough to win the starting job, thus why he went in round 2. Hurts has great abilities in some ways, and lacks on others. Normal people can see this which explains why you cannot. Putting stellar (and they are) players in place is a boon to any QB. There is nothing more Howie can do for Hurts. It's time for him to step up and I see no reasons whatsoever we can't go deep into the playoffs or dare I say get to another SB. Yet somehow I am "the hater" even though my goals for this team are superior to yours

Nope,he needs to up his "brain game".This is the year he needs to do it. Add the quick reads and decisions and get the ball out. There is zero reason for him to hold the ball as long as he does. Your failure to see this doesn't change the fact he needs to do it. No hating, you can't do a fair evaluation because you are blind

Who said we aren't rooting for him???? I don't recall anyone every rooting for his failure. I can root for a guy and still see where he needs to put the work in. We're all sorry you can't. Now we have(or supposedly will have) a different offense. The play calling HAS to be better than last year. I'm calling for 12 wins while you are calling for 10,WHO is seeing more failure you or me? I wouldn't put up 12 wins if I thought Hurts was a failure. I'm counting on Hurts stepping up and becoming a complete NFL QB. How is that "hating"????

I do like Pickett’s competitive spirit. Don’t think he’s one of those that shrinks under the pressure….which are very crucial qualities.

He said he was "happy to be a BU". I believe he was put in a position to fail by being tossed into the fire. Hurts wasn't. He had snaps while Wentz was here. I think Kenny wants to lay back and learn awhile, which he was never given that opportunity, he went right into the pit. Look at Green Bay. Those drafted QB's have to sit a long time before they get their turn while other teams force them in out of desperation. I hope Kenny learns and grows at a pace that is nice, slow, methodic. Some guys just can't do well out of the gate in transition from college to the pros. I hope the slower pace, with less pressure will make him into a better QB. Regarding McKee we'll see in 2 years if he has the talent to become the 2 although he is more of a pocket passer. Time will tell he if stays or goes . McKee has 2 years to prove it
