February 20, 20241 yr We’ve had a great track record drafting TEs. Would be a wise move this draft on day two.
February 20, 20241 yr We always have chosen to pay out TEs. Ertz and then Goedert. Even though both players are very good and talented? Think that’s a mistake. If you can draft well at TE so consistently that’s not the position so needed to pay and cough up the big dough for. Witnessed very many teams across the league choosing to let the vet TEs walk and draft the replacement. Cowboys just let Schultz go. Brought in what Fergusen. Probably a better option even.
February 20, 20241 yr Was really high on LaPorta. Seemed like such an obvious ‘high floor’ option. College has just been so consistently pumping quality TEs into the pros for years now. Used to be rare to have special capable playmaking TEs in the league. Now several every draft come in day one even and impact. Day two TEs in the draft are really quick impact draftees. Success rate seems to be higher than other positions.Â
February 20, 20241 yr Almost have to pretty much blow it on draft day to grab a bust TE in the first three rounds.
February 20, 20241 yr CB in round 1. TE in round 2. Believe this should be the plan to build from this offseason. Possible they really find a tier of TE choices they believe last to the end of the third round as well. Haven’t sized up the draft to those specifics yet.Â
February 20, 20241 yr A Slot WR and TE with the two second round picks would be just sick to think of our O’s potential if we could pull that off. Both positions so consistently have been strengths of recent drafts. Should be a very high percentage chances of ‘hit rate’ with taking those two second round positions.
February 20, 20241 yr Opeta would be actually a fairly significant player for us to retain. With him and Stein at G opposite and backing up Dickerson? Think that’s not bad situation at all. Would afford to bypass Oline big FA spending or high draft pick expenditure.Â
February 20, 20241 yr Basically considering how it would be an excellent time for our franchise to not invest big in the trenches. A vet LB and S brought in log term. A draft class focused on all other positions to build a team around going forward. That’s what our Eagles need.
February 20, 20241 yr Can go back towards replenishing the trenches for all the years after this one. Be fine. But would be huge to fill out the rest of the position rooms with quality pieces that can be options to potentially build on for our future.

I mean we didn't even see Penny in garbage time. yeah "only" a million dollars. I'll warm the bench for 1/2 that. Think of the savings!!! Just stupid to pay players to do nothing. We let Hurts take snaps that one year when Wentz was heading out the door, yet they refuse to give Mar or McKee any snap time. I really don't understand this. Practice is practice but there is no better way to gain experience than being on the field How much garbage time was there this past season?  Which game were we ahead where you relaxed and had garbage time?

Need to retain all the guys I listed here while also affording the LB, S and RB FA vets. Cant even begin to consider the top baked like Queen and Saquan really. Need the solid vets that fit like Azeez and Whitehead. Think we all really want to find a way to afford a third slot WR option here. Him especially being a huge factor if either of our two studs is out for any key moments. How is the cap money looking tight?  Did you see anything that compares the Eagles to the rest of the league? You make this claim... tell us how much cap space they have and where it ranks compared to the rest of the league?

We can afford to draft Ainias Smith,he costs us NOTHING(assumed round 4 pick). Why do we need to "afford" one? We have Covey we could try there. Retain Julio. he can run some slot routes. Lost a step outside, but with his size he can rotate in the slot

I like Stoll, keep him. he works hard and as a good blocking TE. Calcaterra could go on the PS. Never really healthy so hard to gauge what his capabilities are. not worth a roster spot as of now,. Goedert,Stover and Stoll should be our 3 TE's who dress on game day
February 20, 20241 yr Author Suamataia dropping,so I will remove him as the 1 pick. I still like the kid as a possible starting RG,but has now dropped into round 2. Still would like to find a RG who can take over for Lane if need be. We saw how awful we were when Lane was out
February 20, 20241 yr Author https://rolltide.com/sports/football/roster/jc-latham/8796Â This kid gets the accolades. A Howie pick for sure, but he plays at T. IDK how he would do as a G. But an obvious replacement for Lane later on. Howie seems to avoid G's in favor of C/G or G/T hybrids. This kid has the tools to be a great one
February 20, 20241 yr Author Then we have Verse a guy I liked last time, but he chose to stay in school.Edge from FL state, another Howie type pick

I don't recall any real garbage time? Do you?

With this offense we should have had leads to where there was garbage time. But you are right, they were all close, which shows we really weren't as good as we thought
