August 13, 20242 yr Patriots beat reporters mentioned how the Pats threw blitzes at Hurts but he answered. We clearly need that box checked. They stated their(Pats) run D was stout however.
August 13, 20242 yr Pats beat reporters were clearly reaching for positives. But sounds like our coverage on TEs is an area of concern.

August 13, 20242 yr Just sounding like mostly all good vibes surrounding our only joint practice this year. Go Birds!
August 13, 20242 yr Giants had red flagged DeJean over medical concerns. Not sure if it was just durability issues. Ainias Smith was red flagged for the same by the Giants. All was on display during Hard Knocks.
August 13, 20242 yr Are we just calling Oren Burks a wash? Didn’t he get hurt like the first practice?
August 13, 20242 yr FL right now I think we should just line up more with two RB formations than we’ve seen. That’s the answer to our lack of a third WR.

It's NC,but yeah using motion is something we have never done(or rarely do). I hope that is implemented now. I have NP with a 2 RB set,or a 2 TE set and someone will claim the slot WR spot and they will be better than Quez no matter who it is. It appears to be a 2 horse race with Wilson and Paris. I would suggest they split the job. Ainias may be relegated to doing return duty, but we just can't ignore Covey here either. He is quietly, without fanfare getting it done. He may not be a star, but he is consistent and a reliable "go to" for whatever we ask him to do

You want long term results you may have to wait on a guy for awhile. I'm fine waiting a year for a top notch secondary player or a top notch slot WR. The same team who wouldn't pay Barkley is a team I need advice from??
August 14, 20242 yr Author So besides the 2 top guns we have- Covey,Paris,Wilson,Ngata,Ainias,Ross. We won't carry 8 WR's. 2 of these are going away or 1 with 1 on the PS. I think Ngata goes away and Ainias goes on the PS(where he will be poached). But we will see more in pre 2. It will be a tough decision. I also liked what I saw from all our non starting RB's. More to be seen in pre 2 there also. Trotter so far looks like a nice draft steal

He’s out with a groin injury, not sure he’s done much otherwise anyway. John Ross I’d say has done more…which isn’t really saying much. Wilson looks like the third best WR in the making….but he’s probably still a ways away. Covey is just too small. He won’t last if used too much. Two RB sets I think we do have and can field though. As of right now. 21 personnel. That’s our best personnel formation right now coming in. An injured Calcaturra is the only other potential option to go two TEs…but that isn’t anything to really look forward to.Â

But I doubt they are the only ones. Pretty much I’d say the exact reasoning of why both guys were available for us to pick them in the draft where we did. Can’t say either guy has given me confidence in their potential durability either. It’s a a legit concern. Let’s just hope DeJean at least can shake that red flag question mark. Ainias has so much more going on than just that. He needs to prove he can even play and belong at this level. Not much room on this squad for an injury prone receiver that drops balls.

I guess John Ross probably should get the nod otherwise. You know…,choosing out of a list of bad options and all. A job is so very clearly just sitting there waiting to be earned…by anybody at WR right now. Can anybody step up in two PS games?

I’ll tell you seems very clearly they are choosing Ross with much more volume.
