August 13, 20242 yr It’s not the same job playing the slot. Different techniques and differing instincts come into play. That’s just in the pass coverage area. That part of the game elite outside CBs really only deal with most of the time. That’s for a reason. So they aren’t getting all caught up in the physical play that occurs inside. Be great to have CBs play S and LB plenty of the time but there is a reason the NFL doesn’t do it much. Fangio just described the Slot CB as what used to be referred to as a LB…if that helps any understanding of things. If the G comes out pulling…who do you think he’s looking for?
